He is now soaking up energy, so to speak, within his physical system as a sponge soaks up water. (Smile.) He is using the new energy where he feels he needs it most, which is quite legitimate.

(10:02. Jane stopped speaking, then nodded when I asked if she was all right. Her eyes began to open soon afterward. She had thought the session terribly slow, and thus was surprised at the amount of time passed. She had thought of pauses between individual words while she spoke. She didn’t recall any of’ the material after the part about soaking up energy.

(Jane wasn’t worried while speaking, and didn’t force anything. Tonight she felt some of the energy of last Monday, but didn’t feel she could do anything with it— she just enjoyed soaking it up.

(She now told me that just before tonight’s session she felt a cone effect up over her head. This represented energy; Jane felt that it stopped with her, that she soaked up energy from it and the words then came out. She said she had also felt the cone on Monday; and through the terrific energy it contained the words poured out of her.

[...] I still use the visionary technique I came up with when these sessions started: I envision a large sponge with which I go over her entire body, every inch of it, and soak up all the stiffness and pain and immobility. Then I squeeze out all those things as I hold the sponge out a window; the afflictions soak into the ground where they’re transformed into positive energy and attributes.

[...] Last night I’d discovered that a portion of the cellar floor — including the old “bomb shelter” where I keep our fan mail stored — was covered by a quarter inch of water —just enough to soak into the 2 by 4’s I have the cardboard boxes placed upon [to avoid water!]. If the wooden supports soak up enough water they can bleed into the very porous boxes. [...]

[...] Last night when I helped her off it onto the bed, we discovered that she had soaked the cushion under her bottom for an area eight inches or so around—something she hadn’t done before. [...]

[...] He will literally soak up affection now as he soaks up the sun, and it will have equal healing effect. [...]

The child is not born a sponge, however, empty but ready to soak up knowledge. It is already soaked in knowledge. [...]

[...] We also soaked the finger briefly in warm water. [...]

This is a brief session, to be followed by Ruburt soaking his knees. [...]

[...] Because he is sensitive to various elements, he also soaks up atmosphere and suggestions like a sponge, and he has not learned to protect himself.

It is as if seeing a raindrop, you are terrified of a thunderstorm, so you closed your eyes so as not to see the rain, until finally to your surprise your feet became soaking wet, and the message got through. [...]

(With a wry, quiet look:) I would like Ruburt to soak his knees following the session, and Ruburt wanted me to add that he is most appreciative of your efforts in his behalf. [...]

Some automatically soak up the hatred of others like a sponge. [...]

[...] To a certain extent he soaks up their paranoia, until it becomes an unquenchable force in him, and he is their “victim” as much as his followers are his “victims.”

[...] And (whispering) in the time left over, I would like Ruburt to soak his knees.

[...] It involved, Jane said, some kind of inner comprehension that she was learning something in a new way, as though some kind of undifferentiated sense was operating and soaking up information. [...]

Now, he was able to soak up energy in your natural surroundings, and to use it. [...]
