[...] I have mentioned the discarnate Van Elver in most recent sessions. In the 424th session of July 29, Seth said Van Elver, whose portrait I have recently painted, left a mental message for me; to the effect that I shouldn’t use sepia with too heavy a hand.

Now it is important that you realize that we have used analogies rather freely in our last two sessions, for there was no other way to give you any clear concept of the material I wished to present.

(“Jamaica” took place on a Saturday, and Seth referred to it briefly in the next session, on Monday night. That session turned out to be private, rather than one for book dictation. Seth came back to Jamaica in Jane’s ESP class the next evening [on November 19]; at the same time he began discussing his concept of “counterparts,” which he formally introduces in tonight’s [721st] session for “Unknown” Reality. (Last Wednesday night’s scheduled session wasn’t held, giving Jane some rest the day after class. Then yesterday, Sunday, she gave a very long session on her own for a visiting scientist. [...]

(I’ll finish the references to yesterday’s session by quoting the comments Seth made at the end of some material we’ve deleted from the 712th session in Section 4. A few weeks ago, through a magazine we subscribe to, Jane joined a science club. [...]

12. My Roman-soldier self might have “followed authority without question,” as Seth states in this (721st) session, yet he must have behaved with more than a little guile. In a private session held some time after he’d finished “Unknown” Reality, Seth again referred to the Roman — doing so because of additional material I’d produced about that first century personality. As soon as possible, do indeed review some of our sessions. This session itself should help, by reinforcing Ruburt’s energy and faith, and accelerating the conditions of healing. [...]

[...] I was reminded to tell her that in reviewing many of the personal sessions we’d had at the time Seth was also delivering Dreams, he’d stressed over and over again that each time her body had tried to heal itself, with sore muscles resulting, Jane had tightened herself back up. [...]

(As the session began Jane’s voice was at once loud and quite a bit deeper than usual. [...] But the voice was a good one, the best in many sessions. [...]

[...] From the moment the session began she was “within the voice,” as though wrapped in a cocoon. [...] She thought Seth did this to keep the session short, yet get lots of material through. [...]

SESSION 679 (DELETED PORTION)

(One final note: At the beginning of this session I wrote that I had trouble describing the very uncomfortable sensation in my left groin—that it wasn’t pain. [...] I felt much better by the end of the session; remarkably so, so Seth’s material was on the mark. [...] In a flash the understanding led me to a very obvious conclusion that, it seems I should have reached on my own earlier: the knotty feeling was very much like the muscle spasms I’d experienced in the back, years ago when we’d lived on West Water St. These had been so bad that I’d lost months of work; the sessions had begun as Jane tried to help me, as well as for her own needs, in 1963.

(When I mentioned a session to Jane finally she said she didn’t really feel like it; she was getting relaxed, “really out of it,” and I could tell she’d rather not do it. [...] Then as I sat making notes, Jane called in to me that she felt better, that she’d try a session after all. [...]

[...] “Boy,” Jane said, “if you’d told me I could have had that session after they all left, I wouldn’t have believed it. [...] Her delivery had been animated and fast throughout the session, with many indications of wit and amusement.

[...] “I know that in those earlier sessions Seth said I equated the left side with the unconscious portions of the personality and the masculine role in society [see the deleted sessions for April 4 and 16, 1979], but—”

(Reading the 3rd session, of December 6/63, John noticed that Frank Watts, Jane and I had all lived together in Mesopotamia in the 4th century B.C. In that life I was a woman, Frank Watts was my sister, and Jane was a brother to us, and named Seth. During these first sessions it will be remembered that Jane and I received our information from Frank Watts. Seth did not announce his presence until the 4th session. Now John wondered if the Seth mentioned in the 3rd session, page 18, was the same Seth who is now giving us the material.

(This afternoon John Bradley, our friend from Williamsport, PA, who has been a witness several times now, stopped and asked if he could be a witness for tonight’s session; he also had some information on how to obtain some extra copies of this material. [...]

[...] By now Jane was already nervous, especially so after her very short sessions last week. [...]

After our brief sessions of last week, I am pleased to see Ruburt in good condition once again.

(At 3:43 she began reading the session for December 27, 1983, doing better than she had earlier. She was interrupted by people taking her vitals — temperature 98.3 — and finished the session finally at 4:20, after resting from reading several times.

[...] I’d also called our optometrist and asked his secretary to have him return my call so I could ask him a couple of technical questions about a note I’m writing for Session 901 for Dreams. [...]

[...] Jane began reading yesterday’s session, getting through it much more slowly than she did yesterday. [...]

SESSION 928 (DELETED PORTION)

[...] In these sessions we are translating basic realities into verbal terms, no mean accomplishment. Some evening however, perhaps we can have a session in which more emotional rapport is possible.

(During break we engaged in a spirited discussion ourselves, then broke it off when we realized this might influence the session itself. [...]

[...] If you have any questions concerning this evening’s session, I will be glad to answer them. [...]

Our own sessions have been most unemotional for some time. [...]

(The hypnosis session referred to here by Seth took place some months ago, and the information given here in this session does not contradict any other information I gave while hypnotized. [...] We have often wondered about the validity of the material I gave during the hypnosis session; we have meant to probe further but have not had the time.)

(By 8:45 PM Jane was nervous as usual before a session. [...] Jane began dictating in a rather quiet voice, and maintained it for most of the session. [...]

[...] See the 54th session, page 99. Jane’s hands were not affected although they had been in the last session.

This will be one of the very practical contributions of these sessions to daily life. [...] Ruburt’s performance during our sessions should certainly be adequate proof for my statements concerning additional energy automatically taken and used.

I will here begin to close the session, though like Philip's universe, the sessions never began at a specific point in time, and Ruburt knew of them long before he paced this floor, though he was not aware of them. [...] But they will not end, and as we have known each other in the past and in the future and in the present, so these sessions exist in the spacious present, where time as such has no meaning.

[...] John has witnessed several sessions; with him he brought the first carbon of Volume 1 of the Seth material, which he has been reading. This consists of the first 38 sessions. [...]

[...] It will be recalled that John and Bill had been witnesses to various sessions, but not jointly before this. They had however met here before on other than session nights.

(It will be remembered that in the 63rd session, June 17, 1964, Seth stated that he could “also see a sort of trouble in September for a woman neighbor who lives three doors down the street from him” in Williamsport, PA, “the difficulty here somehow involving two children... [...]

(Before the session began I asked Jane to comment on two points made in the last session: The 442nd session was held on Monday, October 14. [...]

(I also wanted the latest word on the status of the auto accident probability data, involving Jane, and given on page 111 of the last session. [...]
