(I asked Jane several times after supper if she wanted to have a session tonight. [...] Finally at 8:55 she decided to try for a session in spite of being “so far out of it.” [...] I said anything would help, if we were to continue trying to accomplish anything with this series of sessions. [...]
You are (underlined) progressing since our sessions began. [...]
DELETED SESSION
(This is the last delivery in the 628th session. Before the session I asked if Seth would discuss the Time Magazine cover story about Richard Bach in the November 13th issue, published November 6; and the various predictions made re sales, etc., in the recent deleted sessions.)
I will continue with this fascinating subject at our next session. [...]
SESSION 628 (DELETED PORTION)
[...]
I also noted that in a session on animal consciousness Jane held just three days ago, Seth had to some extent assuaged our feelings on such questions, and that his information will be of value to others. The session, the 878th, was held on September 10, 1979, and it began at 9:07 P.M. Monday—just five regular sessions after Seth had completed his work on Mass Events, and three before he began Dreams.
[...]
Here are session excerpts:)
(Seth actually began his Preface for this book, Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment, with the next, 881st session, which Jane delivered for him 12 days later [on September 25]. I chose to present this private session first because in it Seth offers certain information about Jane and me that I think applies to all of our work with him, through the session and books, and to our own separate creative lives as well. [...]
I wrote quite a bit in Mass Events about our publishing activities, just to show for the record how complicated certain aspects of the creative life can be as we juggled sessions, manuscripts, proofreading, and deadlines [to list a few of our endeavors]; we “worked” at any time of the day or night—which didn’t bother us at all. [...] Beyond that, I have little idea of how many notes of Jane’s and mine, or quotations from nonbook sessions, for example, we’ll be adding to this book.
[...] [See the 855th session for May 21, 1979. I find it amazing that Jane came through with that session only four months ago.]
(This session was quite unexpected and spontaneous. It grew out of the last deleted session for November 24, 1972. It very well answers the attempts Jane and I have been making to integrate the session for November 24, and the 367th session for October 1, 1967.
[...] She also felt sick again, as she had at break during the last deleted session for November 24. [...] She walked better during break, though, and felt much better when the session resumed at 9:42.)
The session contained information about vital aspects of Ruburt’s personality, but given in your terms at a particular period of time. [...]
(The session tonight did not dwell on the recent experiments however, although Seth did express himself as pleased because we were pleased. Jane has made copies of the clairvoyant material from the three sessions involving the Gallaghers; they are to write in their account of what actually transpired after each of Seth’s predictions or statements. We will then assemble all of the data into coherent form and include it in an early future session. [...]
[...] Before this however we had the time to go over the three sessions in which Seth dealt with the Gallaghers while they were on vacation in Puerto Rico; these are sessions 199, 200, and 201.
(Note that in the unscheduled 192nd session, Seth and Bill also had an interchange concerning underwater artifacts, Indians, Vikings and Jesuits in this section of the northeastern USA. If what Seth said in that session can ever be verified, some history books will have to be rewritten. [...]
[...] Seth asked for ideas from Bill and Peg; it will be remembered that in past sessions he said he would go into this question when they witnessed sessions.
(In the early hours of May 29, following the last session, Jane had her most vivid experience yet involving book work during the sleep state. [...] [See the notes for the 619th session in Chapter Four, for instance, or for the 660th session, which bridges chapters Sixteen and Seventeen.]
(I might add that Seth has briefly discussed reincarnation in connection with probabilities in the 631st session in Chapter Seven; in connection with the moment of reflection in the 636th session in Chapter Nine; and in connection with present beliefs in the 657th session in Chapter Fifteen.)
(“Then I thought: I didn’t want to give real book sessions while I was asleep — who would take them down? [...]
[...] Before the session tonight Jane said she hoped Seth would explain the occurrence, but surprisingly — even though a considerable amount of personal material was received — the matter wasn’t covered.
We are largely over this hump now, and the actual writing of the book in its entirety will actually serve to strengthen his confidence in this respect, since the validity of our sessions will be stressed as he reads material for his book. At its completion he will be much more committed than he is now, and indeed our sessions will attain added depth through his acquiescence.
[...] His own book will allow him to reassess the nature of our sessions. It will do neither of you harm, and might do you both good, to discuss our sessions personally with some other persons whom you have mentioned.
(Before the session began, Jane said she felt much more restless than usual. [...]
[...] In our later sessions for example, we have mentioned that the desire for duplication must always result in a distortion, but this distortion is also the basis therefore for a new reality.
I am not making judgments now, but showing reactions—so the two of you hid the sessions from the beginning, for example. You tried to fit the sessions into the scientific context, as you thought was right, with the testing and so forth. [...] Ruburt has pared down his abilities (as I mentioned before the session). [...]
Read this session carefully, and pay attention to it. [...] The session should give both of you important hints to release your own creativity, and when Ruburt is feeling blue about something, if he does not discuss it with you, he should write the feelings down at once.
[...] 4. As we discussed those questions before the session, I wondered whether the poor results of her daily predictions concerning the mail might have a similar basis, whether she told herself or not that she wanted such impressions to work out.
[...] Now they are coming to the forefront again, and Ruburt is tying them into your early springtime pendulum sessions, so that some new benefits now can come from that old work.
(This session will actually report two separate events, lumped together for convenience. Both involve table tipping, and include one Seth session.
(This session was not particularly planned, but grew out of conversation on the subject. [...] The session lasted for several hours, perhaps until 1 AM, and at its end all of us were exhausted.
(The 381st session took place, unscheduled, after a lengthy and active table-tipping session of the evening of Friday, November 24, 1967. [...]
(The session, as soon as it began, struck me as being very forceful indeed—perhaps too much so. [...] Later the Gallaghers said they did not think the session had been unduly severe, but I do not think I agree.
[...] For the session I put him in the cellar.
[...] As we sat for the session in our “new” den we could hear through the open sliding glass door the mixed chorus of tree toads and various insects echoing through the woods in back of the house, and up and across Holley Road.
[...] [See the notes for the deleted session for August 20, 1979.] They wrote August 8. If her life story were ever to be filmed, the symptoms would have to be considered, we found ourselves thinking. [...]
(9:50.) The York Beach affair happened, Ruburt’s Idea Construction experience, and the beginning of the sessions. [...]
(For some material on this sensation on Jane’s part, see the 39th and 50th sessions in Volumes 1 and 2, and the attached notes. For the same thing on my part, see sessions 24 and 35 in Volume 1. There are many other accounts of it scattered through our psy-time notes preceding various sessions.
I am not going to hold a very long session this evening. Rather than give you fairly frequent short vacations, I may at times close a session early. [...]
I will indeed now close our session, the reason mainly being that Ruburt has been oriented in a quickened fashion toward our work since he began his book again, and he has used additional energy in doing so. [...] Our sessions have been highly compact as of late also, and intensified in energy content.
[...] Her experiment mentioned by Seth at the opening of the session was not a spectacular one by any means. [...]
(Just before the session began she did feel nervous. She began dictating in a normal voice however, and maintained it through the session. Her delivery was not characterized by the exaggerated slowness of the last two or three sessions. [...]
[...] I am endeavoring to end our sessions, for a while at least, at an earlier hour for several reasons, which will not concern you; and I will here end the session, I should imagine with your approval.
[...] Both of us were surprised at Seth’s abrupt ending of the session. [...] We were a little tired, yet as usual prepared to continue the session as usual. [...]
[...] However she has been somewhat unsettled because of the changes at the gallery and was not in a mood for a session: “If Seth can get anything out of me tonight he’s doing good.”
[...] That same evening she held the final session, the 935th, for Chapter 10 of Dreams. Since then she’s given but two short private sessions, on November 9 and 12. [...] Seth reassured her in both sessions. [...] I last dealt with those subjects in the first, 933rd session for Chapter 10.
At the beginning of these notes I wrote that three months passed after Jane finished Chapter 10 of Dreams before she held her next session—a private one—on November 9. In that short session Seth sought to add his reassurances to Jane’s own, and to mine as well.10 On the 12th Columbia was launched as scheduled, but only after another delay caused by the failure of an electronic decoding unit. [...] In the meantime, on the evening of the 12th, following his suggestion that she resume the sessions on a twice-weekly basis, Jane spoke for Seth in another private session. [...]
[...] Seth dealt with our personal challenges for almost all of this session on Monday evening, November 9. After supper Jane had announced that she wanted to try for a session—she didn’t know whether it would be private, for Dreams, or on other material. She’d just finished rereading a number of book sessions. She was both nervous and impatient at the prospect of her first session since last August. [...]
[...] (I’d had similar feelings seven months before she held this 936th session: In Note 13 for Session 931, in Chapter 9, see my comments following the excerpts from the private session for April 15, 1981.)
There were about ten of my regular students at the session. [...] Most of the time he spoke directly to the student who requested the session, or addressed the sixty members of her psychology class, who were not present. The whole session ran about six single-typed pages.
At the time, we were having sessions in the bedroom, which is small, with one window looking out on the large yard. It was summer; hardly anyone knew of the sessions yet, and Seth’s full voice, rising out on the nighttime air, would have raised questions we weren’t ready to answer. [...] He often felt quite warm, since we closed the window to keep the sessions as private as possible, particularly since neighbors were often sitting in the yard. [...]
[...] Last year one of my students was taking a psychology course in the local college night sessions, and with the professor’s encouragement, she frequently discussed Seth and our ESP classes. [...] She asked Seth if he would give a special session for this purpose. [...]
Seth agreed, and devoted one entire class to the session. [...] In a way, it is not the kind of in-depth discussion Seth would give in one of our private sessions, but it contains an excellent thumbnail description of his theories on personality, for those who have no previous knowledge of the Seth Material. [...]
(No session was held last night, as scheduled. [...] She’d also been quite relaxed at times through the day, so I didn’t ask her for a session. It seems that we also got our signals crossed, for I learned today that she’d been ready for a session; but because I didn’t come out of the writing room and ask her if she wanted one, she thought I didn’t want one....
[...] “I’m glad I did have the session, then.” [...] “At least I got that straightened out, about the book sessions....” [...]
(But at about 9 PM this evening Jane surprised me by suggesting a brief session. [...]
(I should have asked whether Seth was referring to last night’s missed session, or to this one.)
(We missed holding the last two regularly scheduled sessions. [...] After supper tonight she suggested that I get the session notebook ready, although when I joined her in the living room at 8:30 she said she didn’t feel Seth around at all.
Two and a half years ago I wrote in the closing notes for Session 869, in Chapter 10 of Mass Events, that she had finally received from Seth the full title for this book: Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. [...] As we waited for the session Jane gave me two very long letters she had received yesterday. [...]
Neither of us expected that Seth would develop his session out of that idea—or even that he would give material for Dreams. [...]
[...] A fond good evening—though you can expect some homey sessions also, of course, which are on the way (heartily and with humor.)
(This is the second session I’ve typed today. I was typing last night’s deleted session this morning, when at about 10:00 AM Jane said she would like to lie down briefly. [...]
[...] She hasn’t read last night’s session yet, but said now, “Well, I suppose you can see why I came up with this material after last night’s session,” although she hadn’t mentioned Israel. [...]
(I finished last night’s session at 11:00 AM, filed the carbons, etc., and called Jane at about 11:15, thinking that I’d get to spend half an hour in the yard before lunch. [...]
(An impromptu unscheduled session was held last Friday evening, November 5, for a group of young people. [...]
(One question concerned what Seth actually “sees” when he is confronting a witness, and he answers this briefly in tonight’s session. [...]
(The same effect took place during the 182nd session, which was witnessed by the Gallaghers. [...]
(No envelope test was held during the session this evening.
Now when you use the word I, more and more, this is the portion of the self of which I spoke in our last session. [...] This is the I that you have been using in the pendulum sessions, that questions both the ego and subconscious. [...]
One or two excellent self-hypnosis sessions a week will speed up complete release of symptoms. The more psychic energy he uses at such sessions, the speedier his progress. [...]
[...] Ruburt has been using this part of the self automatically in the pendulum sessions, and in giving suggestions. [...]
[...] In all hypnotic sessions and in all periods of self-suggestion, emphasis should indeed be upon health, exuberance, flexibility, strength and vitality. [...]
