[...] To the human being it must appear that telepathy is a mental or psychic communication occurring between two or more entirely separate selves. [...]

The ego considers itself the self, and considers anything outside of its self as being either nonself or another such separate identity, and so the individual man is led to believe that telepathy is basically a communication between two or more basically alone, separate and aloof selves. [...]

Only in a manner of speaking (repeated twice), there are certain — (humorously:) a necessary qualifying word — “power selves,” or personalities; parts of your greater identity who utilized fairly extraordinary amounts of energy in very constructive ways. [...]

There are points of contact having nothing to do with time as you know it, that are extremely significant to all personalities, origins of new energy that are sometimes suddenly brought into existence because of the strong, latent psychic capacities within individual selves.

(Voice still gentle and lilting.) I look back on you as the selves from which I sprang, and yet I am more than the sum of what you will be when you are finished with the other dimensions and times that I have known. [...]

[...] (Pause.) Other portions of me are concerned elsewhere, for I am aware of my own existence in other dimensions, and keep track of them, and direct my many selves. [...]

(Pause.) Your spontaneous selves in that area, relatively speaking, now, (underlined twice) were allowed their expressions. [...]

[...] In this area of your lives, however, and relatively speaking again, you have allowed your creative spontaneous selves some freedom. [...]

Individual selves will retain identity. [...]

Now, in one sense, all selves are projections of the whole or that which is. [...]

These selves are each completely independent from the other, making their own decisions as individuals, as in the most precise meaning you can apply to that term. [...]

[...] You are not those selves psychically, however, any more than you are your mother’s or your father’s in physical terms. You are as different from those reincarnational selves, therefore, as you are from your parents, though you share certain backgrounds and characteristics.

You are not any of those past selves, even though they are a part of the history of your being. [...]

Within you there is indeed innate knowledge of all the selves that you have been, and all the selves that you shall be, and this knowledge sustains you even when you do not know consciously that it exists. [...]

[...] These secondary personalities cannot be referred to as full selves, yet they can certainly not be set aside as so-called not-selves. [...]

[...] Although you have chosen to form a particular group of qualities into a field pattern of a particular personality, upon which you focus the bulk of your energy, there are also other more shadowy, less well-constructed possibilities of personality selves that exist loosely within the psychic framework of the dominant personality, and these also have their influence. You and your reincarnated selves, or personalities, are not imprisoned in time. There is a constant interchange going on between what you think of as your present self, and your past and future selves. [...]
