(This excerpt from the session contains Seth’s first mention of the Speakers and their functions in the reincarnational process, and supplements the Speaker data in Chapter Seventeen.

[...] Portions of that material are given as Appendix 8 in Volume 1; in that session also Seth stated that “value expansion becomes reincarnation, and evolution and growth.” [Seth’s own kind of simultaneous time, of course, easily accommodates all three concepts, although this appendix isn’t concerned with reincarnation.]

16. In this appendix I’ve consistently thought of probabilities and reincarnation as being nearly synonymous, while hardly mentioning the latter to avoid making the material unnecessarily complicated. As Seth himself told us in the 683rd session for Volume 1 of this work: “Reincarnation simply represents probabilities in a time context — portions of the self that are materialized in historical contexts.”

[...] Somehow Jane and I always understood, to make an analogy, that Seth’s kind of “simultaneous” reincarnation [or anyone else’s kind, for that matter] wasn’t acceptable in our Western societies at this time in history; we could trace out many reasons why this is so. [...]

[...] The entity follows it through the cycle of [simultaneous] reincarnations. [...]

[...] What you call reincarnation is only one aspect of a particular interest in the whole regenerative psychic process within your physical universe.

As within your universe, as a personality reincarnates into different form, you have the retention of the original personality, intact, with its memories in the subconscious; and you have the additional formation of a completely new personality time after time.

[...] When I got up at 6:15, with the dream still on my mind, I thought at first that it might have reincarnational overtones, yet I didn’t really think so. [...]

Seth as you know him will not be reincarnated, but other portions of our entity will be born in flesh, for we have a part in all worlds and all realities. [...]

[...] So could the idea of reincarnation, and of counterparts, I added —three situations not considered within our ordinary contemporary scheme of things.)

[...] As the many hours of our calls quickly accumulated, Laurel and I came to understand through dreams that we had shared reincarnational relationships. [...]

There are also reincarnational relationships, not necessarily with those involved, that had to do with your acquaintanceship with them in this existence, and some- time I will tell you what they are if you do not find out for yourself and I would rather you found out for yourself. [...]

[...] The soul or entity is not diminished but expanded through reincarnations, through existence and experience in probable realities — something that I will explain later.

[...] The reincarnation dream (see the end of the session), however, had to do with Nebene, who resented any tribute paid to Rome, and was enraged by the crooked practices of all the tax collectors. [...]

[...] He started to yell, throw up his arms, and he was remembering some reincarnational material that was unpleasant. [...]

The whole self slowly regains knowledge of its own reincarnations, and learns of its relationship to its own entity. [...]

[...] I will speak of the entity, the personalities, the reincarnations, the diverse fragment groupings, the planes with which you are either familiar with or can understand, and ultimately try to deal with your question, implied if not spoken, as to where entities came from to begin with.

[...] (To Diane:) so if you come to his classes there will be more than pretty tales of reincarnation for you, for you must learn to work and develop your own abilities. [...]

[...] Now, I cannot go into that reincarnation this evening, it is too late, and you would not benefit from it for you are not ready, either of you. [...]

[...] Now, when you are ready to deal with that problem, then I will give you the rest of the reincarnational material. [...]

[...] Yet you recognize that your self is a far greater dimension than you usually suppose, so you speak in terms of reincarnation. [...]

2. See Note 1 for the 727th session; it contains references to two sessions on the fetus, as Jane excerpted them for The Seth Material. Now see the 557th session for Chapter 13 of Seth Speaks; Seth presented additional information on the various ways reincarnating personalities associate themselves with the fetus. [...]

[...] In the same way, many other concepts and ideas already given will also assume a new significance and meaning, and add to the richness of your experience, because you will be open to them more than you were before — Ruburt in particular — to ideas having to do with reincarnation, life after death, other spheres of activity.

[...] Jane talked to several people here today who reminded her that there was always a need to be filled regardless of location, about such things as reincarnation, dreams, etc; this also made us feel that we could work out here, in living arrangements and income, as well as anywhere else. [...]

Without going into reincarnational information just now: from this life Ruburt got into the habit of not physically expressing emotion. [...]

(I’ve also thought for some time that there might be clues to Jane’s seeming dilemmas in reincarnation — which Seth hasn’t gone into at all. [...]

[...] Two years after we married, she published her first work of fiction, a short story about reincarnation called “The Red Wagon”: It appeared in the December, 1956, issue of The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction [© 1956 by Fantasy House, Inc., New York, N.Y.]. [...]

I remember being a little surprised at her subject matter for “The Red Wagon” — for it’s not contradictory to write here that even though she was so interested in reincarnation as a theory, we seldom talked about it. [...]

Seth has discussed the members of the Butts family at times, including some of their reincarnational aspects. [...]

[...] Only after such a basis will the idea of reincarnation achieve its natural validity, and only when it is understood that the subconscious, certain layers of it, is a link between the present personality and past ones, will the theory of reincarnation be accepted as fact.
