You have been so immersed in physical reality through reincarnations, that even your dreams involve you with objects; and even in your dreams you hardly escape the physical units that you have constructed.

(By his own definition Seth is no longer a physical being, although he’s told us he’s lived a number of previous lives; thus, ideas of reincarnation enter into his material. Mass Events is the sixth¹ book that Seth has produced — all of them with Jane’s active cooperation, obviously, as well as my own, since I write down his material verbatim, then add my own notes. [...] According to him, these “entity names” mean only that in our present lives we identify more with the male aspects of our entities, or whole selves — which in themselves are neither male or female, but contain within them a number of other selves [of both sexes] to whom we’re related, or a part of, reincarnationally and otherwise.

[...] For various reasons, reincarnationally speaking, he allowed himself to remain ignorant of the ways in which the ability could be used for the early portion of his life. [...]

[...] On Monday and Wednesday evenings he furnished material on this book, plus some personal material for us; discoursed at length Tuesday night in ESP class; spoke briefly Friday afternoon to a visiting editor from Time magazine — subject, Freudian psychology; and on Saturday evening talked informally to a group of our friends about daily life in Italy during the time he had been a minor pope in the fourth century a.d. [Reincarnation-wise, Seth had first mentioned his papal experience in an ESP class session in May, 1971. [...]

We will be dealing now, after what I hope is suitable background material, with some chapters on the nature of existence after physical death, at the point of death, and involving the final physical death at the end of the reincarnational cycle. [...]

If he can adapt in this life to another vital but different role, then he could live; but to some extent, basically, with a different alignment, in your terms only, taking on the problems of the next reincarnation without changing physical forms. [...]

(Jane said she thought Seth might have gone into the survival material because of some of the marginal notes made on her ESP manuscript by our unknown friend, particularly on the chapters dealing with reincarnation.

[...] She told me that as she gave the above data, concerning the individual of whom I will do reincarnational portraits, that she could “almost see this guy.” [...]

[...] [Some of them are on reincarnation, and I plan to present them when Seth gets into that subject in Dreams.] On October 7, a Sunday, Jane saw for the first time the work Sue Watkins has done on Conversations With Seth, the book she’s writing about the ESP classes Jane used to hold. [...]
