Seth had often told us that when we’re finished with our lives here, we’re actually anxious to leave this existence. [...]

I could write many windy pages about the mysteries of life, I suppose, and how each of us does the best we can, although often we may not understand what we’re doing; but what I really want to do is simply note that in her case, fortunately, and even if she may think she’s failed in certain major areas of life, Jane has achieved some remarkable insights into her own situation (as I have into mine, being her marriage partner). [...]

[...] “If it works out and you have a minute tonight, and if you’re in the mood to say something about Israel and Iraq, it would be interesting,” I told Jane. [...]

(I explained to Jane now about her error re what day it was. [...]

“I don’t know if you can really count that,” Rob said, “Though you’re probably right. [...]

Even if she’s to remain in something like her present impaired state, Jane said as I wrote the above paragraph, still it seems we’re better off for having the Seth material than not: “I’d sure as hell rather take my chances with it than without!” she exclaimed, if somewhat ruefully.

[...] Some may contend that they’re not even theories, but only hypotheses—tentatively inferred explanations requiring much further experimentation and examination. [...]

(Additional thought re the notes just above: I suppose that if we enjoyed clear channels of communication between all parts of ourselves, we wouldn’t have returned to this spot—or if we had, no charges would be involved. [...]

[...] But we’re still uneasy over the whole Mass Events affair —the disclaimer question, Jane’s reaction to the book itself since Seth started giving it, etc.—and any delay only serves to make us more suspicious, I’m afraid. [...]

[...] This material stemmed from a discussion Jane and I had had the other day, re selling paintings and how best to go about it. [...]

[...] So now we’re spending much of our working time checking — and double-checking — the proofs against our carbon copy of the copyedited James manuscript. [...]

[...] They’re noted here, although I think that at least a good portion of tonight’s material stemmed from remarks I made after supper, when I talked about not using my own abilities as much as I might have over the years.

This distortive attempt to re-create the self once more on the physical plane, and to insure self-continuity within that plane, is the basis for the divergence of physical types and characteristics. Such a creation, or re-creation, is obviously impossible.
