(This is the first Seth session Jane has held since the private session for November 10, 1982: Eleven months. [...]

[...] Many of the details surrounding these sessions can be found in my daily private notes, so we don’t need them here. [...]

[...] For once their private lives are identified with a greater source — and from it many derive new strength and vitality. [...] The range of private emotions is given greater, fuller, sweep.

[...] You will interpret the private events of your lives, and the spectacular range of history, in the light of those assumptions about reality. [...]

[...] The reasons for such involvement would be endless, or course — all valid, yet in each and every case, man and nature in those terms would meet in an encounter that had meaning, from the largest global effects to the smallest, most private aspects of the individuals involved. [...]

This leads not only to private dilemmas, illnesses, and seemingly futile relationships — but also to national misunderstandings, entanglements, and world disorders. [...]

[...] Disease states, so-called, are as necessary to physical life as normal health is, so we are not speaking of a nirvana on earth — but we are saying that it is possible for each reader of this book to quicken his or her private perceptions, and to extend and expand the quality of ordinary consciousness enough so that by contrast to current experience, life could almost be thought of as “heaven on earth.”

(So much has happened since the last private session was held a month ago [on May 7] that I told Jane tonight that I’d make no attempt to summarize it all here. [...]

(Jane’s symptoms, especially her walking ability, have become much worse since the last private session was held—so much so that all of a sudden it seems to be a question of how much longer she can continue to make it to the john here in the house. [...]

[...] Jane has been having steadily increasing difficulties in the bathroom ever since the last private session was held—and, of course, even before that. [...]

[...] She hasn’t even had many private sessions during those breaks in book work; she gave but two private sessions between chapters 10 and 11, and four between chapters 11 and 12. [...]

[...] That evening she held the second of the four private sessions she was to give before starting Chapter 12 of Dreams.³

[...] Jane received from Prentice-Hall the first copies of her book of poetry: If We Live Again: Or, Public Magic and Private Love. [...]

That evening Jane came through with the third of the four private sessions she held before beginning Chapter 12. [...]

(9:23.) It is not just that each person has his or her source in a “magical” dimension, from which his or her overall life emerges, but that the private source itself is a part of the very energy that upholds the entire planet and its inhabitants, and the overall construct that you understand as the universe.

(Pause.) In your terms this means that you do not have to rely upon what you think of as your private resources alone. [...]

[...] The main point I want to make is, however, the fact that your private source of power is a portion of that greater field of interrelatedness, in which your being is securely couched. [...]

...You may leave in the record or not: temporarily at least there are several connotations in the private aspect of your lives. [...]

(To Florence.) Now I want to have a private session with you. [...]

In later years it’s become impossible for me to close my eyes to the multiple pressing differences that exist between Seth’s explanation of the nature of reality, and of our own private experience of it. [...]

We’ve had no Seth sessions yet, either regular or private. [...]

[...] He seeks them out, for emotionally he understands quite well their part in his own private life, and their necessity on a physical level. [...]

[...] As I mentioned earlier (in Session 821), each person caught in either an epidemic or a natural disaster will have private reasons for choosing those circumstances. [...]

Your dreams are private, as your waking life is, and yet there is a mass waking experience and a mass dreaming experience in which each individual finds his or her own place, and accepts or rejects events. [...]

Both privately and en masse, then, mankind utilizes the dream world as a preliminary working ground. [...]

(10:35.) The initial battle, so to speak, took place on a dream level, then privately and en masse the race decided which portions of the event to actualize in physical terms. [...]

The most private agonies of the soul were assigned a more or less common source in man’s primitive “unconscious” drives. The private unquelled thrusts toward creativity were seen as the unbalanced conglomeration of chemicals within a person’s most private being — a twist of perversity. [...]

[...] You see in Ruburt’s physical condition the clearest representation, but this is simply the clearest sign of events that exist in your own private experience also. [...]

You must renew your sense of dedication, privately and jointly. [...]

[...] Ruburt should, as I suggested some time ago, have a private phone. [...]

[...] The sessions began because of your private natures, yet to some extent the books make you publicly known. [...]

(A quick, and probably partial answer: I do not know how much I may have counted upon Jane’s symptoms in the past to furnish a private world in which I could work. [...]

[...] You form your private and joint realities. [...]

(When these private sessions first began in earnest perhaps a few months or a year ago, this was one of the first questions I asked. [...]

[...] It is to show you that you have a private and a joint reality, and that your purposes merge, and so do your beliefs.

[...] Privation naturally leads to great aggression of feeling. Where there is great privation there will be a cruel climate, but the climate does not cause the privation. The emotional aggression caused by privation caused the climate.

The world-view consists of those cultural and private beliefs concerning cultural, economic and social environments. [...]

[...] These beliefs have become a part of your private and joint realities, affecting you (me) invisibly as they affect Ruburt visibly.

[...] Impulses then would follow easily, in a smooth motion, from private action to social import. [...]

(10:15.) The job of trying to make the world better seems impossible, for it appears that you have no power, and any small private beneficial actions that you can (underlined) take seem so puny in contrast to this generalized ideal that you dismiss them sardonically, and so you do not try to use your power constructively. [...]

[...] They do so because of their private capacities, and also because they are answering the world’s needs, and in ways that in many cases a younger person could not.

My questions about those ancient great ages led Seth to volunteer some more information in a couple of private sessions.

[...] There was a greater and greater body of knowledge to be transmitted as physical existence continued, for they did not transmit private knowledge only, but the entire body of knowledge that belonged to the group as a whole.”
