“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

Even if those sessions can’t be quoted in these essays because of the obvious space limitations, I can note that Jane and Seth each continued to develop the themes already laid down in the sessions that have been presented. What they really signify for the long term is (as I wrote in the essay for April 16) a continuing program of intense study for Jane and me—and yes, for Seth, too—as we seek to better understand our chosen commitments in our present physical lives. [...] Many questions arise: Even granting our personal reservations about influences being exerted within our current lives through past, future, as well as other present existences, what about exchanges on dream levels concerning Jane’s symptoms between or among any of our reincarnational selves, our counterpart selves, or various combinations of the two? [...]

The quotation from Seth just presented will certainly lead the reader to wonder about additional sessions we may have acquired from him since April 16, and from Jane since April 20 (see the essays for those dates). [...]

That same 657th session contains Seth’s extremely useful statement: “The Present Is the Point of Power.” From it he proceeds to show how all that we are — whatever our individual belief systems may be — stems from the brilliant focus of our physical, mental, and spiritual abilities in “present” experience.

(Now I’d like to present a batch of notes, ideas, and excerpts from sessions about reincarnation, counterparts, and related data, pulling them together into a coherent picture. [...]

[...] Your present sense of security and relative detachment gave her strength. [...]

In a way that will be explained in another book for those interested in such matters, there is a kind of coincidence with all of these present points of power⁸ that exist between you and your “reincarnational” selves. [...]

[...] For the immediate present, and for the immediate present only, such tests should be conducted here. [...]

[...] My writing table is beside a bookcase, and before the session I slipped the test envelope between a couple of books without Jane being present. [...]

(Bill Macdonnel was present but I was working in my studio. [...]

[...] I believe however that he will be able to take part in such tests when your friends are present and the object is concealed. [...]

([Peggy:] “No, I’m interested in the present subject.”)

[...] From scatterings of data Seth had given in the past I thought Jane’s eyes, even though wide open, did not see others present as they were, as physical entities, but perhaps as electromagnetic personalities.

[...] I see the essence of your personality in all it’s past and present existences, and I must pinpoint you in your time.

[...] According to circumstances I can more clearly become present. [...]

[...] My first thought was to recast his subjunctive mood in the next paragraph entirely in the present tense. [...]

I also want to emphasize that your present beliefs limit the full and free operation of your intellects, as far as your established fields of knowledge are concerned, for science has placed so many taboos, limiting the areas of free intellectual inquiry. [...]

[...] The events of Friday evening have literally changed the lives of those present, yourselves included. [...]

The others present will always remember what happened here, and my explanation was a necessity if the affair was to be successfully concluded.

[...] Limited concepts of the nature of reality have already been broadened in those present, in some of their descendants, and in others to whom they will speak. [...]

The energy that showed itself the other evening appeared in peaks of activity, rushes in like waves, and is always present. [...]

Now I bid you good evening, and when you realize that you have been many people and that you are many people, then you will realize that you need not think so in terms of age, for you are as much now the young woman that you were back in Naples in the 14th century as the man that you now think you are, and you are not bounded by what you think of as your present age. When you realize that your own personality is indeed multidimensional, then you will realize that your age is a reality that you are presently experiencing, among many other realities. [...]

[...] It is the viewpoint of reality that you have presently adapted, and as such it is purposely not only valid but important to you. [...]

[...] There is, as I hope all of our regular students know, no past, present and future. [...]

The excursions with form number one will be of your own system, and largely connected to the earth, although past, present and future may be involved. [...]

Such an action would therefore appear to happen twice—once in your present, and once in your future, you see. [...]

[...] Did the future self request information, and did this request cause the present self, you see, to make an actual and legitimate projection into the future?

[...] Jane first saw it in Miss Callahan’s apartment at Christmas of 1964, when Miss Callahan received it as a Christmas present.

[...] If he did, and if someone else were present in the room, they would not see it, for you are only aware of your own constructions.

[...] First, you and Philip and Ruburt, when you are all present in the room, each construct from energy your own physical materialization of the idea, television set.

[...] (Pause.) They may become activated, however, by certain associations made in your present, and therefore draw into your present time some glimpses either from the future or the past. So-called present time is thickened, then, by a psychological realization on deep levels of the psyche that all events are interrelated, and that the reincarnational experiences of any given individual provide a rich source of experience from which each person at least unconsciously draws.

[...] Since Jane couldn’t leave the house by herself, let alone go holiday shopping, she had a close friend buy the Christmas presents she had in mind for me. [...] [With eyes averted, I had to carry my own presents to a closet, where I deposited them until Christmas Eve.] Then late in December the page proofs for Mass Events arrived for our checking. [...]

[...] His information on the sinful self opened up a very important development in Jane’s [and my own] search for an understanding of her symptoms, and I’m presenting excerpts from that session in Note 9. [Before long, I realized that I could use notes to carry portions of several more sessions on the sinful self.]

[...] Jane’s material from her sinful self is obviously too long and complicated to present here, but I stress that one of its main concerns is its genuine and ironic puzzlement as to why man has for so long—probably from even before he started recording his history—persisted in the creation of and reliance upon entities like the sinful self! [...]

[...] Jane came through with the session just a week after giving the last session for Chapter 11 [on November 24, 1981], and I’m presenting it here in Note 1.

[...] As I’ve shown in various notes in the Seth books, through the art of her first love, poetry, Jane presents her beliefs with an amazingly simple clarity, combining her mystical innocence and knowledge with her literal-minded acceptance of physical life.

[...] Once again Seth offered us material relative to our daily program—but that’s not the only reason I decided to present the full session in Note 7.

[...] From your threshold or focus you would be relatively unaware of your own motion on a new time threshold—for to the beings on that threshold you would have already arrived, while to you in your present their existence would at best be theoretical, as if they were future selves. [...]

[...] It is far more flexible than you presently allow it to be. [...]

All of this applies to your situation, for I want you to thoroughly understand, intellectually and emotionally, the errors of current thought, so that you can see that our material is indeed providing you not only with “creative material,” but with a more factual presentation of the framework in which you have your existence.

It understands, for example, that clairvoyant material is a part of the personality’s overall characteristics, so it is not afraid of perceiving it — and it is able to separate such information confusion from present physical sense perception. [...]

[...] And while one portion of your personality is in a period of deep depression, other portions may be highly creative of which you may not be aware in the present, in your terms. [...]

[...] But I also want you to know that your present thoughts, feelings and emotions not only affect you but affect your probable selves and yet .... [...]

[...] The personality in its entirety includes, therefore, probable selves of which you are presently unaware. [...]

[...] That the inner identity, that you, is far more than you presently realize, and the best way to work toward such realization is to accept the self that your are now, as you are. [...]

You may be born into your present family for many reasons. [...]

[...] In many cases the friends that you make were close to you long before you met them in this present life.

This does not mean that every one in your present acquaintanceship has been known to you, and it certainly does not imply a boring record played over and over again, for each encounter is a new one in its own way. [...]

[...] You must remember also that abilities from past lives are at your disposal for your present use. [...]

Another tragedy due, either closely connected with the present situation, with those involved in this present situation, or with another member of the Kennedy family.

[...] Jane said that just before the session began, she had a “flash” to the effect that another Kennedy was to be involved in a tragedy, or that the present situation involving Senator Kennedy would evolve into another tragedy.

[...] When the first brother, or rather President Kennedy died, then it was known that this present situation would occur, and Bob Kennedy knew this very nearly at a conscious level.

[...] With this incident one full cycle has come to an end, beginning with the former president’s death and ending with the present incident.

Now: there are electromagnetic structures, so to speak, that are presently beyond your (scientific) instruments, units that are the basic carriers of perception. [...]

[...] Cells are not just responsive to light because this is the order of things, but because an emotional desire to perceive light is present.

(Much work went into this presentation, and a response has been materializing through phone calls, personal visits, and the mail. [...]

[...] I said I thought it was a contact session, as Seth calls them, meaning that he was present with us at this time, rather than having given Jane the material earlier. [...]

In other words, larger mathematically intuitive, pure-theory ideas were presented as well as circumstances would permit. [...]

When you paint the land, do so thinking in terms having to do with its past as well as present and future. Its inner development that has resulted in its present form, the energy behind the form. [...]
