[...] Most discouraging, I tell myself, to see that in our society at this time that’s the overwhelming, prevailing view—with no one of stature asking any embarrassing questions. [...]

[...] However, it fits in with much of our questioning of late, in connection with the Middle East peace talks these past few months, and the behavior of the three who met at the summit, held at Camp David: Carter, President Sadat of Egypt, and Prime Minister Begin of Israel. [...]

(Perhaps the most upsetting or enraging part of such behavior is that the best our society can do is to reward men for such actions. [...]

(Another point I want to mention in connection with Seth’s material earlier in the session on psychology: His reference on page 3 to “evolutionary science” stems probably from our reading lately an article on Robert Jastrow, an astronomer connected with NASA. [...]

[...] It seems that essentially our situation is unchanged, 12 years later, which doesn’t say much for our learning capacities, I’m afraid. [...] But he didn’t. I said to Jane later that it seems Seth will tailor his material to suit our needs and/or moods of the moment, which may be one of the ways to integrate blocks of his material into a larger whole, which can display many facets or approaches.)

There is much to be explained along many lines which we have only begun to touch upon, for all things are correlated; and there is indeed a correlation between our moment points of which we have spoken, the spacious present, and that portion of the whole self which you call the subconscious.

Now there is also someone else, if not at our session, then involved in it this evening, so that both of us are in contact. [...]

[...] Now after our talk Jane sat upright in the rocker, her eyes closed, head back, sitting quietly with her lips moving soundlessly as if experimenting, trying for just the right approach so that the other personality could make entry through her.

[...] Now, this group worked on manuscripts officially, so to speak, but our friend here and several others were bootleg seed finders, believing against generally held theories at the time that many questions concerning nature could be found by examining nature.

[...] Now the order had to do with St. John, and there was a crest either belonging to the order or belonging to our friend’s family: a four-tonged fork, with a serpent above the upper portion of the handle in the foreground, and in the background either a castle or a monastery.(Bordeaux, seaport SW France.)

(I am not sure that Seth’s statement on page 150 constitutes a distortion, when he mentions that a communication between our universe and the universe of negative matter is possible. In the 63rd session, again, he deals with the two companion universes to ours, calling them a beforeimage and an afterimage, and lumping them under the general terms of negative or antimatter. In the 63rd session Seth states that our universe and the two universes comprising the universe of negative matter can never meet. [...]

(Yesterday a friend from our Sayre days visited us. [...]

[...] You are, in your present, confined to our imaginary fruit, yet to some extent you can know it much more thoroughly than you do, and its three layers can be understood to a much greater degree.

I am afraid that I will have Ruburt continue with the shorter psychological time period again until our next session. [...]

Ruburt became frightened in the past, and long before our sessions. [...] He began in our work to become more aware of these feelings, and extremely frightened at expressing any of them, for many of the reasons given by me in the past.

[...] Jane has had ESP class sessions in the interim however, but our private activity had deteriorated to practically zero. [...]

[...] Yet at the same time we had learned some valuable things on our own, especially over the weekend. [...]

[...] With the negative and destructive attitudes you had before our sessions, you are both very lucky that you did not run into more difficulty.

[...] I’m quite aware of the contradictions in our own behavior, too, as I told Jane after the half-hour conversation was over: We put our work out into the arena where it’s available to anyone, and hope they’ll pay attention to it. [...]

(Today he told me that he’d found out Jane was in a hospital from someone he writes to in one of the Carolinas, so he called our area hospitals until he learned which one Jane was in. [...]

[...] They also forget, or don’t understand, that being the way we are led to the creation of our work. [...]

[...] In the opening notes for Session 855, which was held on May 21, I wrote that a few days earlier we’d received our complimentary copies of the German translation of Seth Speaks. [...] Could our correspondent have meant the German edition instead? [...]

[...] Some early chapters in our latest book (Mass Events)¹ throw light on reasons other than biological ones, for such circumstances.

(Pause, then with amusement:) In our next book, we will try to acquaint people with the picture of their true nature as a species, as they exist independently of their belief systems. [...]

Our entity is composed of multitudinous selves with their own identities, many of whom have worked in this behalf. [...]

[...] We adopt whatever personality characteristics seem pertinent, for in our own reality we have a bank of complete inner selves, and we are all Seth.

[...] We change our face and form but we are always the one. [...]

Seth as you know him will not be reincarnated, but other portions of our entity will be born in flesh, for we have a part in all worlds and all realities. [...]

[...] During break for the 726th session, which was held on December 16, 1974, I wrote that we planned to start looking for a house of our own as soon as I finished the illustrations for Dialogues. Our need for a certain kind of privacy and quiet has become very strong. [...]

[...] Our interest was hardly coincidental, though. [...]

[...] We speculated that we’d “homed in on it” now, as if for the first time, because our combined focus was opening up in the direction of homes.

[...] While I drove us back to our apartment house for supper we discussed the incredibly complicated roles and events surrounding those different kinds of organizations — whereupon Jane came up with a most apt phrase: “The genealogy of events….” [...]

(Seth enjoyed such casual get-togethers as this, and I mentioned using our tape recorder for more of these, keeping the sessions somewhat shorter to make up for the extra time involved in replaying the tapes for transcription. Seth understood the problems we faced in our daily lives, and didn’t want the sessions to take up any more of our time.

(The session was held in our living room again, and traffic noise was not a problem, nor were there any interruptions. [...]

[...] The manner in which the subconscious translates energy into construction of physical matter, again, has been covered in our sessions previously. [...]

[...] After Marilyn left Jane and I discovered that both of us had been alarmed by the child in some vague way; his actions had been quite overtly strong, we thought, involving such things as pretending to kill our cat Willy, taking swings at Jane and me, etc. [...]

[...] He belonged to an entity that was strongly attached to physical life on our plane, Seth said; the entity having experienced many physical lives, and still refusing to leave earth as we know it.

[...] We do tend to discourage it since [at] full strength it is very…strange and causes comments among our neighbors.

(While the voice boomed out toward the end, I was in that classroom, certainly not in our living room. [...]

[...] The volume is somewhat objectionable in our circumstances, living in an apartment. [...]

[...] Because our mental habits automatically block out such material, we only recognize one series of neurological happenings — it takes time for the message to leap the nerve endings [the synapses]. [...] By altering our consciousness in the way I’m learning to do now, though, we can line up our focuses with these other ‘ghostly’ messages, that are quite as real as the neurological validity we usually accept.”
