TPS1 Session 475 (Deleted) April 14, 1969 abundance negative Imagine paintings flexible

But more than this, the fact itself of belief cleanses the psychic and spiritual channels of negative debris. Often in the past you worked against each other unwittingly. When one managed an overall psychic change for the better, the other would negate it through discouragement or negative patterns. Now as a unit your separate realities obviously form a larger combined unit in which you operate. Two of you working together can do seven times more than one operating alone. Do you follow me?

I knew you would learn. Now. It is basic patterns of thought that help you or impede you, psychological colorations of thought that form the general overall pattern of your physical reality. One thought alone seems to matter little, and yet it is part of a characteristic pattern of inner behavior, and as such has its place either in bringing you freedom and abundance, or in denying you freedom and abundance.

As a unit you operate in certain ways. As individuals you operate in certain ways. When two individuals with strong negative thoughts are together, then their reality has strong negative aspects.

He did indeed fear destruction so that he saw it everywhere, and therefore in himself. Nevertheless his creative functions continued. In one frown of yours he saw ten, and imagined all kinds of dire thoughts were going on within your head. A myriad of negative thoughts paraded and were exaggerated.

There are more than your thought forms in other words. Your thought forms however can be used as definite aids when you are in the proper mental condition, and they can impede your progress if you are not. [...]

[...] Your thoughts instantly attain a form that you can then perceive. If you think of a dog for example, quite unconsciously you form the image of a dog, which you do then perceive.

[...] As I have told you negative patterns of thought are reflected in both states. [...]

If a desire for health leads to an emphasis upon symptoms to be overcome, you would be better off to avoid all thoughts of health or illness, and concentrate in another direction such as work. [...] This reinforces the negative condition.

TES8 Session 340 May 10, 1967 headache Greek despondency chorus dragons

You cannot escape your own attitudes, for they will form the nature of what you see. Quite literally, you see what you want to see, and you see your own thoughts, your own emotional attitudes, materialized in physical form. [...] Negative, distrustful, fearful, or degrading attitudes toward anyone work against the self and against the individuals involved. Now if you would change an individual, change your thoughts toward him, and changes will appear in the sense data world.

For our guest: you should tell yourself frequently, “I will only react to constructive suggestions,” for this gives you some protection against your own negative thoughts and those of others. [...] A negative thought, if it is not erased, will almost certainly result in a negative situation, a momentary despondency, a headache, according to the original intensity of the thought.

There are obviously ways in which you can mold your own conditions, protect yourself from your own negative suggestions and those given to you by others. You must immediately erase a negative thought or picture by replacing it with its opposite.

[...] You form physical materializations of these realities within your own mind.

NoPR Preface by Seth: Session 609, April 10, 1972 title mercy expectations thoughts outline

If there are strongly negative characteristics present in your most intimate thoughts, if these actually form bars between you and a more full life, still you often look through the bars, not seeing them. [...]

Experience is the product of the mind, the spirit, conscious thoughts and feelings, and unconscious thoughts and feelings. These together form the reality that you know. [...] You are so intimately connected with the physical events composing your life experience that often you cannot distinguish between the seemingly material occurrences and the thoughts, expectations and desires that gave them birth.

The existence of so-called negative thoughts and feelings will not be glossed over, but neither will your ability to handle these. [...]

[...] You are a creator translating your expectations into physical form. [...] You have only to use your ability consciously, to examine the nature of your thoughts and feelings and project those with which you basically agree.

TES3 Session 108 November 18, 1964 inwardness fruit Sonja November universe

They formed atoms and molecules, after first spreading out a positive field. There was also therefore from the beginning here a negative field, and as they weaved matter in and out of this psychic beginning meshwork, they formed both the world of matter and of negative matter.

[...] And in other ways to lesser degrees, through abstract thought, through art of any kind, the physical human being, having been formed by consciousness, in his own way then working through and with matter, constructs other fields or planes of attraction, which according to their abilities expand.

The inwardness therefore flows through and forms matter, and the inwardness remains when it has finished expression in any given form. As you know in the case of man, memory, experience and value fulfillment is not lost as the inwardness disregards one form. [...]

The inwardness, as you know, is conscious of itself; but forming this new universe it could express its consciousness only through matter as it formed it, beginning with the innate, rather generalized consciousness of atoms. When sufficient atoms were formed from inward energy, then more various combinations became possible, and with them an accelerated consciousness could be made apparent.

He was frightened at the amount of negative thought that he encountered in himself, and recognized. Now you are not actively to seek out negative thoughts, but to find positive ones. [...]

[...] A negative thought gains in power to the extent that you fear it, and you had better underline that whole sentence. A better attitude is “Well, there is a negative thought, let’s get rid of it.” [...]

In other words negative thoughts can be recognized and plucked out with no more rancor than you would pluck out weeds in a garden. [...] Your job now is simply to remove them, and as you remove each one, easily, to drop in a seed of positive thought to replace it.

[...] “Those aren’t the kind of thoughts I want,” that mental statement is a help. If the negative mood persists a while he should not think “Oh now this will be reflected in symptoms, what can I do?” This adds more negative connotations.

“There are obviously ways in which you mold your own conditions, protect yourself from your own negative suggestions and those of others. You must learn to erase a negative thought or picture by replacing it with its opposite.

Repression has been one of my own habits, particularly after I learned how destructive negative thoughts can be. [...] I’d catch myself thinking a resentful thought about a particular person or situation and I’d almost recoil, “Wow, that’s a terrible thing to think,” I’d say to myself.

NoPR Part One: Chapter 4: Session 620, October 11, 1972 generate emotions belief judgments imagination

[...] It is somewhat fashionable to place feelings above conscious thoughts, the idea being that emotions are more basic and natural than conscious reasoning is. [...] Instead, over a period of time you have been consciously entertaining negative beliefs that then generated the strong feelings of despondency.

[...] If you divert your thoughts from the negative ideas to the positive ones, then your concentration will begin to alter the balance. [...]

(Pause at 10:22.) Here the belief itself will generate the negative emotions that will, indeed, bring about a physical or emotional illness. [...] Before long physical data bears out the negative belief; negative in that it is far less desirable than a concept of health.

[...] Here let me mention that in those terms you hypnotize yourself constantly with your own conscious thoughts and suggestions. The term hypnosis merely applies to a quite normal state in which you concentrate your attention, narrowing your focus to a particular area of thought or belief.

NoPR Part One: Chapter 8: Session 634, January 22, 1973 violation guilt aggressiveness mouse killing

[...] But in your fear of negative thoughts you often attempt to deny all normal aggressiveness, and at the first glimpse of it bring up your mental antibodies prepared for action. [...] If you do not feel your individual reality, then you can never realize that you form it, and so can change it. [...]

Normal aggressiveness flows with strong patterns of energy, giving motive power to all of your thoughts whether you consciously regard them as positive or negative, good or bad. [...] When you consider a thought good you usually do not question it. [...] Usually if you regard a thought as bad or beneath you, or if you are ashamed of it, then you try to deny it, stop its motion and hold it back. [...]

Now: Dictation: Each individual will have a slightly different definition for “negative” emotions. One person may find sexually stimulating thoughts delightful and a most enjoyable kind of diversion. [...]

(Pause.) If you think you are guilty because you read one kind of book or another, or entertain certain thoughts, then you run particular risks. If you believe something is wrong then in your experience it will be, and you will consider it negative. [...]

ECS2 ESP Class Session, February 3, 1970 Brad misconceptions solve Theodore interjected

[...] All you have to do is realize that you are free, that you form reality as you know it... through your most intimate desires and thoughts and fears. You change the exterior circumstances by changing your thoughts and your desires and by forgetting your fears. [...]

When an artist paints a painting, you can look at the painting and say, “Ah, the artist was in a certain frame of mind” or: “Look at the dull colors and the dreary landscape” or: “Look at the wild colors and the fantastic forms” or: “See, there is no form and yet there is marvelous vitality.” [...] And, in this case, your pigments are your thoughts and your imagination. [...]

[...] If you knew that you had a karmic tie with your wife and did not realize that you formed your own reality through your own thoughts and desires, then it would serve you not at all. [...]

You form the physical reality that you know! Then form a better one! [...] For it follows, as the night follows the day, you form your reality. [...]

NoPR Part One: Chapter 8: Session 633, January 17, 1973 Augustus sirens thoughts perfect denied

Forget now that in this case such a division occurred, and imagine instead the successive thoughts and feelings that you possess. [...] Augustus’s case simply shows in exaggerated form the effects of your beliefs upon your physical image. If you think, “Aha, then from now on I will only think good thoughts — and therefore be healthy, and inhibit my ‘bad’ thoughts, or do anything at all with them but think them,” then in your own way you are doing what Augustus did. He began by believing that some of his thoughts were so evil that they must somehow be made nonexistent. So inhibiting what you consider as negative thoughts, or assuming that they are so terrible, is no answer.

Your own value system then is built up of your beliefs about reality, and those beliefs form your experience. [...] You may have been told, or read, that the spirit is perfect, and hence thought that your duty was to reproduce that perfect spirit in flesh as best you could. To this end you attempt to deny all imperfect thoughts and emotions. Your own “negativethoughts appall you. You may believe also what I have told you — that your thoughts create your reality — so you become all the more frightened at mental or actual expressions of an aggressive nature. [...]

Since you have all kinds of thoughts there are reasons for having them, as you have all kinds of geography. Within your reality it is as foolish to deny the existence of certain thoughts as it would be, say, to pretend that deserts do not exist. [...] This does not mean that you have to collect what you think of as negative thoughts, any more than it means that you should spend a month in a desert if you do not like them. [...]

[...] But your thoughts form structures as real as the cells. [...]

NoPR Part One: Chapter 5: Session 624, October 30, 1972 patient disease sound doctor beliefs

I told you that thoughts are translated into this inner sound, but thoughts always attempt to materialize themselves also. [...] They build up their own embryonic form until it is in one way or another physically translated.

The unharmonious sounds have become a part of that portion of the body as a result of the inner sound of your own thought-beliefs. That is why it is vital that you not reinforce these inner sounds through repeating the same negative suggestions to yourself. [...]

The sound, light, and electromagnetic patterns give strength and vitality to the physical form that you recognize. They are more mobile than the physical body, and even more susceptible to the changing pattern of your own thought and emotion.

The sound of your inner thoughts is the medium that you actually use. This is far more than an analogy, however, for in simple terms it explains quite clearly the way in which your beliefs form your reality. [...]

TES8 Session 364 September 13, 1967 hopelessness marriage peanut trap reliable

[...] The woman is picking up and reacting to the negative thoughts of those who believe recovery is impossible.

[...] To relieve any of the environmental negative thoughts and suggestions will bring her some immediate relief.

The husband, now, should follow this exercise three times dail: He should imagine the energy and vitality of the universe filling his wife’s form with vitality and health. Not a wishful thinking sort of thing, but a definite effort to understand that her form is indeed composed of this energy, and in this way he can help her use it to her advantage.

[...] (Long pause.) As an immediate step all effort should be made to remove negative suggestions, as these are building up about her. [...]

ECS3 ESP Class Session, February 16, 1971 Kyle Bobby Joel blessings saintly

You form or create your lows. [...] If you are in the habit, for example, of deep negative thought then you will attract to yourself negative feelings and experience deep depression. [...]

[...] You are meant to realize that physical reality is a materialization of your thoughts and feelings and images. You are meant to realize that the inner self forms that world. You cannot be allowed, in your terms, to go into other dimensions until you understand the power of your thought and subjective feelings. [...]

(To Sue.) For this one over here, no probable self is at the mercy of negative thoughts of yours. [...]

Each consciousness has its own responsibility for those thoughts and emotions and it accepts and originates. [...] This does nothing to negate the validity and integrity of the self that you know. [...]

ECS4 ESP Class Session, July 27, 1971 Maria Edgar scanned shove hypnotized

(To Edgar and Maria.) Now another thought. You must try to avoid an overconcentration now upon the negative simply because you are looking for symptoms with the people who come to you. [...] Your own thoughts and feelings should be those of health and vitality so that these alone help in the healing process. [...]

You can become far more aware of your own thoughts and far more aware of your own honest attitudes. [...] You will not only shove down ideas that seem negative, however, you will also shove down feelings of generosity, particularly toward people that you do not like, feelings of joy because you feel too guilty to think you should feel joy. [...]

Ruburt will want to know if the door is closed, so tell him because I want our friend over here in the bridal white (Maria) to realize that each of you should realize that the energy and strength and vitality that rings through this frail form now rings also through that form and that form and that form and represents the energy and vitality that belongs to each of you, and you all have it to draw upon. [...]

[...] Several members of class remarked Edgar and Maria might be giving their patients negative suggestions. [...]

TES4 Session 160 June 7, 1965 traffic action impediments mutant unimpeded

[...] The particular negative words spoken or thought are but indications of this break of impetus. The break occurs first, and it is for this reason that what you call negative suggestions therefore are acted upon.

The personal subconscious can be thought of as a threshold between the ego and the inner self; not only can glimmerings of the inner self be glimpsed through the subconscious, but also the diverse characteristics of the ego touch this personal subconscious. [...] It cannot so impede action directly, for the very act of forming such impediments involves action. [...]

The negative suggestions therefore are symptoms of an inner block of energy and impetus. [...] It goes without saying that these which you call negative suggestions are in themselves actions. [...]

[...] I thought it was bothering Jane, since she seemed to be sitting in a rather tense position in her rocker. [...]

DEaVF2 Chapter 8: Session 916, May 14, 1980 cu units ee genetic repetition

I’ve often thought that the repetition in the Seth books, say, is nothing compared to the repeated barrages of suggestion—much of it negative—that our species has chosen to subject itself to daily. I constantly search for balances between the positive and the negative. Indeed, however, Jane and I think that in ordinary terms, and for many reasons, our species long ago began creating a great deal of negative thinking and action—so much so that those qualities came to range throughout all facets of our world culture. [...]

In spite of those thoughts, Jane was still rather upset and out of sorts a day later as session time approached. [...] She also thought of giving me the night off, by way of celebrating a bit because I’ve finished the notes for Mass Events, but I told her I’d rather keep the sessions going as long as both of us feel like it. [...]

[...] Your thoughts are the invisible partners of your words, and the vast unstated subjectivity of All That Is is in the same way behind all stated or manifest phenomena.

[...] That is, again, because the basic units of consciousness that build up matter—that form matter—are themselves endowed with a subjective acuteness. [...]

SS Appendix: ESP Class Session: Tuesday, January 5, 1971 nonintervals Janice spices nonmoments pulses

You cooperate together to form the physical reality that you know, telepathically, through ways and means that are unknown to you. [...] Your thoughts intertwine with those of others. You are responsible for your own thoughts. You need to learn the power of thought and emotion, but this should fill you with the joy of creativity. Once you realize that your thoughts form reality, then you are no longer a slave to events. [...]

[...] You not only form the future, as you think of it, but you also form the past. [...]

[...] I am no poet, but as in one of Ruburt’s poems, think of the brain as a web you form about the inner self. [...] You form this and then perceive the world, but your viewpoint is very small and the garden you perceive very intimate. [...]

[...] Instead you have formed the event, not realizing that it had its origins at the time you slept. The question cannot be answered simply for there are many ramifications, but from this instant of reality you form and change not only the future, but the past. [...]

TES9 Session 449 November 18, 1968 integers Roger zero math minus

[...] (When I said I didn’t know how to write down what she was telling me, Jane said:)Just put: the minus numbers represent negative charges, and mark the activity of ions’ negative flow. [...]

[...] (Then she added: ) This is to make that clearer; talking about negative and positive values, and on the negative side the value descends in direct proportion to the order of ascension on the positive side.

(All of which is not to say that Jane and I haven’t encountered math in some form(s) in our daily lives, probably at times without being conscious of this. [...]

(Since Jane looked at Roger’s list just before the usual session time we thought Seth might consider the questions. [...]

TPS1 Session 593 (Deleted) August 30, 1971 helper black realms habits lag

[...] They are not thought-forms. They are energy forms. [...]

[...] They do not have the energy capacity to form either. They may however use symbols instead, upon which they vent negative feelings. [...]

[...] You are on the threshold of forming your own helper. [...] In one way they are formed from you, but considerable work of one kind or another is done often before they are released, and set free to work within these other realms for you.

[...] See what each of you meant by what you did or said, what the other thought you meant, and your reactions.
