There was also, even then, in the back of your mind the feeling that personally you could use the sessions for information in which you were highly interested, and you suspected that Ruburt would not share the feeling, or would even unconsciously block it.

The question that you asked concerning the (TV) program was symbolic in your mind to other information—

[...] You also felt that the symptoms would take Ruburt’s mind off of his own for a change, and also let you see how, if or when your reactions to other people were changed or altered because of your indisposition. [...]

And so those people lifted up their minds and hearts and heard the voices of the earth speak to them, as they still do. [...]

It did not serve your species’ purposes at this time to work with the mind — with telepathy, with the feeling for the earth that you could have developed.

[...] — there are points, again speaking simply and in your terms, where probabilities meet: intersections with space and time that occur in your minds while you change directions, where new probabilities that once lay latent suddenly emerge.⁹ And in terms of your civilization and your time, such a time is now.

The habitual nature of the programming that you give your own minds helps continue the chronic condition. [...]

The emphasis should be upon arousing your own individual and joint creative healing abilities—in other words, magical properties of your own minds and hearts, and such intent is bound to put you ahead of the game. [...]

As a painting that is destroyed physically may still be retained in your mind, so in the reality of the physical system a trace remains, an image trace of the camouflage structure that enclosed a given personality.

(She said that sometimes “these personalities” seem to be able to look into her mind and see how she is going to deliver a bit of data; if they don’t approve, then they can change the way they give it to her to speak, so we’ll take it the right way. [...]

Some of the material (in this session) on pain should help clear Ruburt’s mind, but the past week’s blue periods and so forth simply represented one more example of a situation in which he tried to make himself get better by “realizing the gravity of his condition”—by contrasting his performance against “normal” performance, and by the old beliefs of not trusting the body. [...] And at other times Ruburt senses your state of mind even before it materializes, and this sends Ruburt into an overanxious state which is not beneficial to either of you.

[...] Even then it is difficult to keep all aspects in mind, particularly as far as the present personality and its relation to past lives.

Jane tried to write with her impaired right hand, frustrated again and again because she couldn’t hold a pen well enough to put down the ideas stirring in her mind. [...]

For all of your complaining (Seth told us with some humor at 8:56), you understand in rather good measure the decisions and actions that motivate your lives, so that Ruburt is more than usually aware of the manipulations that psychologically and physically lie just beneath the material usually carried by what is ordinarily called the conscious mind. [...]

Actually, I was amazed at the opacity of my perception: It seemed that once again I was just beginning to understand that Jane had chosen to embark upon a journey in which she would explore herself and the world in intensely physical and emotional terms—in contrast to the more intellectual ways by which she and I have usually conducted our searches, through the Seth material and our own inquiring minds…. [...] In that larger picture (underlined) there are no errors, for each action, pleasant or not, will in its fashion be redeemed, both in relationship to itself and … to a larger picture that the conscious mind may not be able presently to perceive.”

[...] What Ruburt has in mind—and generally—this includes the ideas that you have given, Joseph, in the taped material—those procedures are indeed paying off. [...]
