“On Friday, October 23, 1981, I received the following message from Seth: ‘Attend to what is directly before you. [...]

[...] The message was directed to Ruburt. [...] The envelope, the black envelope, was obviously a symbol, but it did enable Ruburt to see the name of the woman who was sending the message. [...]

[...] Nor could he recall reading the message, or the name that was inside. [...]

The boy who delivered the message in Ruburt’s dream was partially a dream construction, representing a George Pilotte Junior, with whom Ruburt felt an affinity in early life; a relative, a cousin who is also psychically connected with Ruburt’s mother, and who is subconsciously connected in Ruburt’s mind with the death of his grandfather, since the boy, who is now a man, was kind to Ruburt at that time.

The psychological experience today was a reinforced message, tied in with the others, which again Ruburt tried to forget and could not quite manage, because he has now trained himself to recall such data.

[...] Relaxing for her nap afterward, she asked for a message from her creative, spontaneous inner self, the part that keeps her body alive and gives her life meaning and inspiration. [...]

He did not remember this afternoon’s message. [...]

In this case, however, deeper portions of the personality understand the message, and it will then in its own way rise to usual consciousness.

[...] She had consistently misunderstood the messages her body was giving her. “If you’d paid attention to those messages, and gotten over that hump,” I said, “you might not be here now.” [...]

[...] Because he is the person who delivers the message, he had to accept himself before he could fully accept the message.

When he did not then he questioned the message that came through him, and then could not use it properly. [...]

[...] But when Seth kept repeating “Trust your impulses” in this book, I finally got the message through my head — and I’ve already had considerable physical improvement as a result. [...]

[...] Seth answers those questions and many more, until as we read his explanations we wonder how we could have so misread our own nature as to distrust the very messages meant to lead us toward our own spiritual growth and that of the species as well.

[...] They spoke their messages, sang their songs, chanted their visions aloud. [...]

[...] Not that Seth claims any kind of omnipotence, because he doesn’t. His material, however, is clearly providing such translations of unconscious knowledge, and intuitive disclosures; disclosures, according to Seth, no more remarkable than those available in nature itself, but we have forgotten how to read nature’s messages; disclosures no more mysterious than those available in our own states of inspiration, but we’ve forgotten how to decipher those communications too. [...]

[...] If you get the messages we sent you, do they do any good at all?” The questions would apply in any dream exchange among people, of course.

(10:35.) Such dreams on Ruburt’s part bring one vital message: that he can walk normally, and that this can be easily (underlined) brought about. [...]

[...] The beginning of our sessions represents to you your own version of hearing the voice of God, in that you felt that it was the first time in your life that in whatever guise, some portion of the universe “had a message for you”—or that you were in contact with anything beyond the ordinary, that at least held hopes for a glimpse of any real knowledge beyond the known.

Here he seems to make contact with impersonal symbols whose message is somehow automatically translated into words. [...]

[...] These minglings of reality and experience, these messages from one system to another, occur in various ways continually, emerging in your world in one guise or another — as inspiration of many kinds. [...]

[...] All That Is speaks to all of its parts, not with sounds, trumpets, and fanfare from without, but communicates its messages through the living soul-stuff of each consciousness.

(Now Seth paused, and Jane said that that was the end of the message. [...] Then Jane began to receive another message, which she dictated.)

[...] Jane paced back and forth constantly as she delivered the above message. [...]

In physical life there is a lapse while messages leap the nerve ends. [...]

(9:39.) In this regard now, and for the sake of our analogy only, think of the life of the self as one message leaping across the nerve cells of a multidimensional structure — again, as real as your body — and consider it also as a greater “moment of reflection” on the part of such a many-sided personality.

[...] You are more than a message, say, passing through the vast reaches of a superself. [...]

[...] The color however, its value of intensity, served to further refine and define — for example, either by reinforcing the message already given by the objective value of the lines, angles, and curves, and by the invisible word messages already explained; or by modifying these in any given number of ways. The size of such drawings also spoke its own message. [...]

Again however, through this excellent balance and these fine controls, the ego will accept knowledge derived from the dream state, as a man might accept a message from a distant land in which he does not care to dwell, and whose environment would both mystify and frighten him.

In our dream experiments then, we will allow you to bring such messages to the ego. [...]

[...] I told you that the physical body itself was able to pick up other neurological messages beside those to which you usually react.⁸ Now let me add that when a certain proficiency is reached in alterations of consciousness, this allows you to become practically familiar with some of these other neurological messages. [...] As a youngster he received the messages from others so quickly that he was diagnosed as having an overactive thyroid gland. Actually, he was receiving “unofficial” messages that are usually neurologically censored. [...]

[...] As you learn to throw aside old concepts you will begin to experience the evidence for other levels of reality, and become aware of other “messages” that you have previously blocked. [...]

(The table became quite active, spelling out several messages which were quite garbled. [...] The movements were unmistakable but the messages unclear, except that O B, whom I have not thought of in many years, repeated his presence. [...]

[...] The table was moving well now, and promptly began to spell out the following message, taken from my notes: ILL MAKE A(B) DAN(D)CE.

(Pause.) Communications between various scattered portions of the self often appear, again, in such situations as automatic writing, speaking, the hearing of voices, or through what the person believes to be telepathic messages from others.

The supposedly telepathic messages can be attributed to contemporaries—enemies, gods, devils, or what have you. [...]

[...] He may—or of course she may—on other occasions receive messages from the devil, or demons, which on their part represent the person’s feelings about the physical self that seems to be so evil and contradictory in contrast to the idealistic image. [...]

[...] For this is part of the message.

[...] She said that at the end of the session, just before she left trance, she got a message that she would hear from the publisher Prentice-Hall, within three days concerning the prospectus they have for the book on the Seth material.

(But Jane did not receive, or did not retain, any data about the content of any message from Prentice-Hall.)

[...] A message having to do with a boy. The message directed to Dr. Instream. [...]

The boy either 12 or 22 years old, with a farm somehow connected with his family or the message.

Also a connection with a message, and the color green.
