[...] You are in no way diminished because other quite-as-official selves are “offshoots” of your own experience, making the choices you did not make, and choosing, then, alternate versions of reality.

[...] I need not be entirely focused within your dimension, in other words, but I am sufficiently focused to meet our appointments. [...]

“It is as if there were two portions of a bridge, like a drawbridge, and these two portions must meet. [...]

[...] In order to make sense to our three-dimensional selves, information must be “squeezed” through—and this in itself causes some distortion.

(Perhaps I put this appendix together as I did partly because Jane herself isn’t much turned on by reincarnational concepts, although she does like the way Seth insists upon the unlimited attributes of each personality; and within such a “simultaneous” framework there’s plenty of room for probable selves, reincarnational selves, and [added later] counterpart selves.²

(Then from Seth himself:) In one sense meeting with you costs me little energy, it is true. [...]

[...] More often than not I wasn’t present when Seth produced his material, and in all cases it was recorded by students; Jane meets with them on Tuesday evening, when I’m usually occupied typing Monday night’s private session [or book material, often] from my own notes.

[...] If certain other beneficial alterations occur, and further understanding on Ruburt’s part, we may be able to meet at other levels of consciousness — in the dream state, when he is not cooperating in the production of our book material.” [...]

[...] Why then do you find it difficult to believe that you are more than the ego, for in dreams you meet portions of yourself. [...]

The foremost or exterior layers or areas deal with the personal selves. [...]

(Seth answered my question by saying it was a good idea for Jane and me to attend the hypnosis symposium at Oswego next month, and to meet Dr. Instream, the director. [...]

[...] These names represent our entire personalities as distinguished from our present physically oriented selves.

The next chapter will give the story of our meeting — you (to me), Ruburt and I, from my viewpoint of course, and the ways in which I contacted Ruburt’s inner awareness long before either of you knew anything about psychic phenomena, or my existence.

[...] He may be the voice of our combined selves, saying, ‘While you are conscious bodies, remember what it was like and will be like to be bodiless, to be freewheeling energy without a name but with a voice that does not need tongue, with a creativity that does not need flesh. [...]

[...] You were blunt men, yet highly emotional, living for some time near Constantinople, but ranging far, even to Afghanistan, and on several occasions meeting bands from Rome.

[...] If you emphasize your natural selves, and your relationship with the dusk and the dawn, and with the earth itself, you will feel free in that natural world.

[...] There is no rule saying that in each life you must meet again those whom you have known before; and yet through the nature of attraction, that is often the case.

It should be obvious also that within your dreams a special location that belongs to the present physical time can be experienced in the past or in the future within the dream framework, and again, there is much more here also than meets the eye; so watch out so that you can catch these developments.

Do probable selves actually communicate with each other through their world-view frameworks, then, or can such an interchange of idea or emotion take place more “directly” at times — simply between the probable personalities involved? [...]

[...] So far, Jane has nothing to report about meetings of any kind with her late mother or father. [...]
