(I read this statement at 11:40 AM, Sunday, July 20th, though Rob told me about his experience earlier this morning. [...]

Now I was not dreaming of him, and he was not dreaming of me. [...]

[...] Jane’s impression of it, I noted, was that it was darker to her than to me. [...]

This evening it was obvious that Jane really wanted to have the session, because she told me she was ready for it early. [...] She started out speaking for Seth very quietly, but her delivery soon became much more intent—then often louder and impassioned: Jane used many more gestures than usual, staring wide-eyed at me, leaning forward again and again in her rocker, crossing and uncrossing her legs. [...]

[...] Purring and rubbing, Mitzi began to climb all over me as I tried to take notes. [...]

[...] Mitzi was still loving me up. [...]

[...] So my environment is a reality of existence created by myself and others like me, and it represents the manifestation of our development.

[...] I “travel” to many other levels of existence in order to fulfill my duties, which are primarily those of a teacher and educator, and I use whatever aids and techniques serve me best within those systems.

(“It’s me,” Jane said after a long pause.

[...] An insight concerning my questions about the role of diseases came to me after supper, before I began typing this session, and I want to note it for possible future discussion. [...]

([Gene]: “But that is a discussion of the me here and now.”)

([Gene]: “But these distortions are part of the game that Shiva plays with yourself [me] and conversely.”

[...] Ruburt did indeed hear me today.

[...] You are, I believe (meaning me) about ready for a new breakthrough in your own work, and the boy’s visit may bring this about more quickly.

“So, in that moment, I named that part of me the God of Jane, and that designation makes sense to me, at least. [...]

[...] Naturally we’d been involved in a number of other projects at the same time, as I’ve indicated in my notes for Mass Events, yet for me especially the publication of the two volumes of “Unknown” Reality meant that we had arrived at a certain point in the development and presentation of the Seth material: In those books, through correlating them in a modest way with our previous works, I’d attempted to show the reader just what the three of us had managed to achieve before Seth led us into Psyche — and, as it developed, Mass Events.

[...] It was very promising material, she told me, and could help change conventional ideas of therapy. [...]

(Shortly before the session Jane told me that she felt Seth around, as usual. [...]

I am going to let you find your own answers, but any such tests and examinations will be welcomed by me, as long as they are conducted in such a way so that our sessions are not disturbed. [...]

Do you have a test for me?

[...] The test object is paper, and is connected with me since my name is on it, and I made the drawing. [...]

Ruburt’s own experience, in maintaining his own identity independently, while also allowing me to speak through him, will be to his benefit. [...]

Now, do you have an envelope for me?

(At 9:23 Jane took the envelope for our 55th experiment from me without opening her eyes. [...]

[...] Shaking her finger at me, she voiced the words in an amused and forceful way.

[...] He will get tense from blocking me if we continue along these lines.

(Jane told me after the session that as she delivered these words, she [...]

[...] The last session, for November 6, has helped me considerably, and I reread it each morning. [...]

[...] I still don’t see anything wrong with the decision, but evidently my body—my psyche—rather violently disagreed, considering the beliefs I must carry around with me.

[...] Do you follow me? [...]

[...] Now she told me that Seth’s recent prediction that her eyes would show noticeable improvement shortly has evidently come to pass; she wanted me to note that here. [...]

(Jane told me as we sat for the session tonight that she’d had some hints from Seth that the session would be on faith. [...]

[...] Now give me a moment. [...]

[...] Now give me a moment before another question here.

[...] Do you follow me?

[...] In mid-July our friend Sue Watkins¹ began typing the rest of the final manuscript for Psyche; Jane had managed to help me out by finding the time to prepare the first five chapters for the publisher, but since we were both so busy we asked Sue for assistance. [...]

[...] For clarification, I also keep this in mind: Seth isn’t physical, as he defines himself, and that “energy personality essence” seemingly isn’t all that focused on the passage of time — as we are — yet way back in the 14th session for January 8, 1964, he told us that time “is therefore still a reality of some kind to me.” [...]

2. Jane spent considerable time before my birthday (I turned 58 on June 20) preparing a sketch book of poems and colored drawings as a present for me. [...]

[...] Lorraine now told us that she too had been in York Beach, ME, during the same week that Dr. Instream had been there. [...]

Do you have a test for me this evening, Joseph ?

[...] The house can be our own, the several people of course Jane and me and Bill and Peggy Gallagher; the Gallaghers were with us Saturday night when I picked the label as a test object.

[...] There is something here difficult for me to explain clearly. [...]

[...] Nevertheless lest Ruburt thinks he is getting off scot-free, let me remind him that the tree’s bark is quite necessary, cannot be dispensed with—but I will get into that and into Ruburt at a later time.

[...] Forgive me if this is a trite analogy, I almost hate to say it, but it bends with the wind. [...]

We come again to the problem of practicality, and at the risk of repeating myself let me say that in the past Ruburt’s seeming impracticality has been more practical than your intellectual practicality. [...]
