“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Here Seth refers to an article in the National Enquirer that has intrigued Jane considerably. It was printed in the issue for March 6, 1979: “Miracle of 80-Year-Old Marathon Runner.” I think she’s using it as quite an effective inspiration for herself.)

He decided to trust his body for the first time in his life, and to trust his mind. Almost overnight, relatively speaking, his heart regenerated, and two years later he ran the 26-mile marathon.

3. Here Seth quotes himself exactly from an unscheduled session held on February 26, 1972, during our vacation in Marathon, Florida.

[...] I obtained a job painting signs in Marathon for a few days. We then left Marathon for Pennsylvania, a few days before the hurricane devastated the town.)

[...] We spent some months at Marathon, in the Keys, with Jane’s father. [...]

[...] A meeting would have occurred between Ruburt’s Mr. Burrell and Ruburt’s father in a bar in Marathon, in which Mr. Burrell would have fatally wounded Ruburt’s father.

(The Mr. Burrell referred to here was Jane’s employer, the manager of a supermarket in Marathon where Jane worked for a few weeks as a cashier. [...]

[...] From our records I learned that I’d taken Seth’s quotation from a personal session Jane held while we were on vacation in Marathon, a resort community in the Florida Keys.

The session had been an impromptu one, and developed on our last night in Marathon because we’d been worrying about our goals in life, and how significant a part the Seth material might play in our affairs. [...]

Seth gave an excellent session for us on that last warm night in Marathon. [...]

Ruburt here thinks of a photograph of the two of you, taken at Marathon. [...]

[...] I remember the photograph of Jane and me taken at Marathon, Florida. [...]

(And of course, this makes me think that our staying her at the Overseas Motel, in Marathon, is probably the poorest choice we—I—could have made. [...]

[...] Thoughts—after the 3 sessions here in Marathon, of February 16, 19, and 21, it finally dawns on me—I finally put the material in the sessions together—and realize that a more basic quality behind Jane’s symptoms is repression. [...]

[...] I reminded her of what Seth had said in the deleted session for February 26, 1972 , in Marathon: “You get what you concentrate upon. [...]
