[...] At break she told me that as she spoke the word dense, and during the pause, she had a rather strong mental image of a field of points of light. These points of light were many-layered, she said, as though she looked at a picture of a galaxy that was not flat. On a vast scale the myriad points of light compared to the density in the electric field, on a very tiny scale.
[...] If he had not, he would not have done any of his creative work, and in the light of his background his achievements become even more outstanding. The symptoms are the result of the strain between the still-lingering beliefs from childhood, clashing with the unrealistic goals of being a kind of superself, for in the light of that kind of superself image so much is expected that almost any achievement is taken for granted. [...]
(Long pause at 9:48, one of many.) It almost dissolves in the imagined light of super-expected performance. [...]
[...] If you both understood all I have said about the point of power, you would not compare the present physical situation with what is desired, and set the present situation in an unfavorable light, but as a progressive series of stepping stones toward the desired state.
In other words you have each been to a large extent concentrating upon the problem you want to be rid of, so that you see your entire existence only in that light, and you should each know better.
You do not realize often the extent of your own triumphs or the models that you are for others, or the light that you are to them. [...]
2. Seth should have said that light can be defined as being made up of waves or particles, but he didn’t put it quite that way, and I let stand what he did say. He gave me a knowing, half-smiling look while delivering this paragraph, for it was obvious that his material was related to a note I’d shown Jane today—one I’m finishing for Mass Events. In it, I’m trying to deal very simply with both the uncertainty principle and the complementarity of light, among other tenets of physics. [...]
I believe that the light is concentrated directly in front of him upon the desk or tabletop, and that he sits more or less like this, with the light falling in front of him.
[...] There was a lighted candle on the coffee table before the group, and as Seth was speaking the flame increased noticeably in height. [...]
There may be something white, a piece of paper perhaps, in front of him, upon which the light falls.
Now he switches off the light and tries without it. [...]
[...] Jane on the other hand had received visual data on many inanimate objects, particularly lights, light fixtures, door fixtures, etc.)
(Was left with light feeling [not a weakness or anything], feeling as if I could rise up bodily, and quite definite sensation of having an empty space above my wrists. [...] During lunch very slight but noticeable lightness in wrists and hands. [...]
[...] Then the next thing I remember is a marvelous feeling of lightness, I felt not so much buoyant as free of resistance; physical resistance. [...] This didn’t register at first though; just felt unusually good, enjoying my walk, conscious of the lightness of my step, aware of a satisfying unity with creation.
[...] From there in, the sensation of lightness spread throughout my body except for chest region. [...]
[...] I spotted the deer, moving across the lighted street like gray-brown ghosts, just as I turned onto Crestwood from Greenaway. [...] There was a very light dusting of snow, typical of our winter this year. [...] I think that most, if not all of the houses on Crestwood had lights on, so the neighborhood was hardly deserted. [...]
[...] There is a connection, something to do with lights. [...] Does he perhaps live on Light Street? Or his name (Jane gestured, her eyes still closed) Light Man—Lightman, or something of that sort. [...]
I believe that he has left some people, and is alone in what would appear to be some sort of alleyway, perhaps between high buildings, fairly dark with lights nearby.
Now: These units of consciousness (CU’s) move faster than the speed of light, then — but that statement itself is meaningless in a way, since the units exist outside as well as inside the framework in which light itself has meaning.
And in connection with Seth’s statement tonight that “… your bodies blink off and on like lights,” see Jane’s comments on her own feelings about related ideas in the notes at the beginning of the last session.
4. Seth’s material here reminded me of a remark he made in the 504th session, which is presented in the Appendix of The Seth Material; he was discussing the perceptions of the fetus as mediated by electromagnetic energy (EE) units: “Cells are not just responsive to light because this is the order of things, but because an emotional desire to perceive light is present.”
[...] The open flame, the source of cave heat, is evocative, and represents a closeness with the origins of light and life.
[...] Seth’s information on the oil warning light is also apparently correct, for when the garage checked the oil level it was quite low. I usually make a point of watching this closely, and it is interesting to speculate as to how I failed to see the warning light go on, since it is situated on the dash in front of me. I had the oil checked immediately after I became aware that the warning light was on. [...]
(This afternoon I put myself in a light trance before going to the dentist, then used suggestion. [...]
[...] You had previously not noticed the small red flash indicating that oil was needed, and if the trend had continued you would have continued to ignore this warning light. [...]
[...] It was after dark, the road was slippery with snow; I had to back down the hill while Jane lighted the way with a flashlight, until I found a driveway. [...]
Lighting his own cigarette in public was the one wild gesture of independence he allowed himself because you made such a point of lighting it for him. He was saying “In big things where I need help you often refuse to help, and your help is a gesture as when you light my cigarette, when I can do that myself.” [...]
Hypnotism will be necessary, however, only for a time, and only to induce the light trance state. In the light trance state, the inner self is free from the camouflage nature of your plane, and the truly humorous aspect is this: Only by freeing yourself from your own camouflage universe can you see it clearly, understand it for what it is, and actually learn to use it for mankind’s best advantage.
The light trance, again, is necessary only for a time, and theoretically it is not necessary at all. [...]
[...] And if some of their present beliefs are ludicrous in the light of the intellect’s reason, in the end—because [such groups] are following the dictates of value fulfillment, however feebly—they are significant. It is easy for the intellect, as you are used to using it, to see only the antics of such groups, and they can appear ridiculous in that light.
Now, the overall purpose supposedly is the utilization of energy—a humanitarian project meant to bring light and warmth to millions of homes. [...]
