On the same level: With Ruburt’s background he felt no man would support him, yet wanted to be supported. [...]

Returning to our last discussion, I want to make it clear that these generic images, activated during certain levels of consciousness, are then interwound into dream drama.

[...] They will be charged with emotional energy according to the individual’s own experience, but they will form the base from which such a dream at that particular level is formed. [...]

Animals have a sense of justice that you do not understand, and built-in to that innocent sense of integrity there is a biological compassion, understood at the deepest cellular levels.

At those basic levels direct knowing is involved, knowing itself in all of its infinite patterns, and that process alone involves unimaginable motion.

The mental processes at this deeper level, however, are different of course than your conscious ones, and in dreams, again, there are hints of a deeper kind of knowing, and a deeper kind of unity. [...]

Deeply (pause) therapeutic elements are operating at all levels of Ruburt’s experience. [...]

[...] Again, many events are gathering as the result of our sessions, and certain activities taking place at other levels of activity during what you might think of as our usual session times. [...]

Yet at other levels this seeming solidity of events also breaks down. There is little use in trying to discover other levels of your own reality if you insist upon applying the laws of physical life to your own larger experience. [...] It was quite real, however, and at another level of reality it was operational, suited to its environment.

[...] This perspective cannot “work” at your usual level of consciousness, any more than the artist’s perspective will work for the ant’s — though there is much you could learn from an ant’s consciousness (intently). [...]

[...] Yet to some extent, the physical rules are also inviolate — at their level.

[...] You can travel in the dream state into levels of reality separated from your own. [...]

On other levels, however, each one is well aware of the other’s presence, and on those levels they do react to each other’s activities. [...]

[...] In other instances the individual encounters the difficulties on mental or emotional levels. [...]

In the kind of schizophrenic behavior we have just been discussing, hypnosis is frequently used as therapy, often in an attempt not only to introduce the two levels of the personality to each other, but also to uncover the time they originally split off in such a fashion.

It is far better to address whatever personality is in prominence during the session, to convince it of the therapist’s concern and interest, while letting it know that at other levels it is quite aware of the existence of its other segments.

When information “falls” into your conscious mind from those vaster areas, then it also is changed as it travels through various levels of psychological atmosphere, until it finally lands or explodes in a series of images or thoughts. [...]

[...] Again, however, that fine precision rests upon an endless amount of information that impinges onto other levels of your psychological reality. [...]

[...] The resulting structure of the dream suits your reality and no other: As this intrusive matter falls, plummets, or shifts through the levels of your own psychological atmosphere, it is transformed by the conditions it meets.

(Pause.) These sessions themselves involve the highest levels of creative productivity, at many, many levels, so he should refresh himself painting or doing whatever he likes, for that refreshment adds to his creativity, of course. [...]

6. If this two-dimensional being, through psychic ability were able to project himself into other levels of his existence (the stack) he could see his “future” and that of other beings in nearby stacks. [...]

[...] Your physical universe and laws give you little evidence of this kind of activity, for at that level the evidence shows you the appearance of time or decay. [...]

Now: All of the probable events of your life exist at once, at certain levels that are connected to the dream state. [...]

[...] There is basically no difference at these other levels of existence between waking and dream events. [...]

[...] Each aspect of a dream, while having personal meaning, is also your version of a symbol that stands for a corresponding kind of event, but in a different level of reality entirely.

In a way, on one level, a personality seems to be operating “blind,” while in another it is aware of its accomplishments and challenges. [...]

They represented parts of his own psyche, still, at that level of consciousness, not having quite assimilated the greater knowledge or experience, so he felt he needed protection—the protection that would beautifully, cleverly and insidiously serve all of his purposes, allowing him to go ahead as he wanted to, but with control drawn back to the body’s discontent. [...]

[...] Your attending class, and hence symbolically standing with him as he relates this greater understanding, not distantly but to individual encountered human beings—a good point, important on your part, for you have never before been willing to encounter others at such a direct level.

At one level Ruburt did allow himself to participate in a very difficult health situation. There were many questions he asked himself about his mother’s condition in particular (Marie is a bedridden arthritic), and about such situations in general, and he did indeed allow himself to go along on one level to provide an extraordinary impetus that he felt would be needed to conquer such extraordinary conditions.

[...] On the other hand, on the more usually understood human level, he also became extremely frightened.

[...] I do not know whether or not he will continue today, for it is a hard session for Ruburt to give, while maintaining the necessary trance level.
