(Below is a copy of the question-and-answer session I held with myself and the pendulum on the afternoon of June 12, 1967, today, in an effort to see what subconscious knowledge I might have that would benefit Jane.

Quite ordinary people often believe, then, that suffering itself is a way toward personal development and spiritual knowledge. [...]

(10:00.) We have of course therefore more knowledge at our fingertips, so to speak. [...]

I must have a thorough knowledge of the particular system of reality in which my pupil operates, of his or her system of thought, of the symbols that are meaningful. [...]

[...] To some extent Ruburt equates me with a more knowledgeable Father Traynor.

[...] Once he opened the door of knowledge what would come through? [...]

[...] He is afraid to go ahead, feeling it not safe, yet he is damned if he will retreat, and for that matter he realizes that there is no retreat from your own knowledge and experience.

[...] The free flow of his experience goes rather easily, and incidentally, safely and exuberantly from what you think of as objective and subjective experience, and his creative gifts then make subjective knowledge objective in terms of art.

[...] Now you have much more knowledge available to you. As a rule you do not admit this knowledge. [...]

[...] The knowledge can let it relax, let go, so that it feels its life couched and safe, and knows itself to be indeed a beloved child of the universe, both ancient and young at once, with an identity far beyond the annals of time.

Knowledge is usually passed down through the ages in your reality, through books and historic writings, yet each individual contains within himself or herself a vast repository: direct knowledge of the past, in your terms, through unconscious comprehension.

The unknown reality: Much of that reality is unknown simply because your beliefs close you off from your own knowledge. [...]

[...] They exist in various dimensions, and all of them have access to knowledge that Jane does not possess.

[...] Ruburt does not have my knowledge. [...]

[...] In the analogy these future selves would dwell in other dimensions, and usually self one, or Jane, would be relatively unaware of their, existence or knowledge. [...]

[...] Intuitively, each person is born with the knowledge that he or she is not only worthwhile, but fits into the context of the universe in the most precise and beautiful of fashions. [...] The exquisite play of your own inner nature in general — and that identification leads you into the deeper knowledge of your own part in nature’s source.

No amount of intellectual information, no accumulation of facts however vast, could give you the inner knowledge necessary to accomplish the physical events involved in that growth process. [...]

This does not mean that you must forever remain in ignorance, but it does mean that there are different kinds of knowledge, and that all of your information does not come by reasoning alone. [...]

[...] Most of the knowledge gained escapes the physical organism however, for the experiences could not be translated by the physical brain.

[...] The same can be said for a successful poem, though here I speak of Ruburt’s knowledge of poetry, rather than of any of my own.

[...] When you leave this dimension, then you concentrate upon the knowledge that you have gained. [...]

[...] If you are wise, you take time to digest your knowledge and to plan your next life even, you see, as a writer plans his next book. [...]

Within you there is indeed innate knowledge of all the selves that you have been, and all the selves that you shall be, and this knowledge sustains you even when you do not know consciously that it exists. [...]

When I come in this class I do so so that you realize the knowledge that is in the material comes through a personality, and that I am not some “ditto.” [...]

[...] I am much more interested, unfortunately, in the more painful process involved in self-realization, spiritual insight, and psychological knowledge. [...]

Your beliefs close you off from much otherwise quite-available knowledge concerning man’s psychology—knowledge that would serve to answer many questions usually asked about the reasons for suffering. [...]

[...] He retained memory of his earlier knowledge, and for a considerable period he could now and then recapture that knowledge. [...]
