(I brought Jane a chicken sandwich — the third in a series, and the last one made from the barbecued chicken I’d bought at a Convenient Market. [...]

(I suggested to Jane that she could have a session before I left. [...]

(Jane pointed to John.) At times our friend has sensed this portion of the self. [...]

[...] Jane’s eyes had been open some of the time, very dark; her pace had been rather fast, her voice a bit stronger than usual.)

(It is Seth’s interpretation of Jane’s very interesting dream of this morning, and was given after he had finished dictation for the evening on Chapter 22 of his book: Seth Speaks—A Goodbye and an Introduction.

[...] This represents your current and late attempts to lead Jane outside physically, and your determination to get you both out of the woods.

(Class had been discussing dream realities, personality, etc., for about an hour; Gert and Sheila began talking back and forth on Sheila’s ideas on separate personalities, when Jane interrupted to say that she had one impression that the “hole in the universe” had opened up in Sam Levine’s house and a crowd of people were flying from it into the room. [...] We went into Alpha to see what we could get most of us had that impression of others in the room  and Jane got the words to a chant, which she wrote down. [...]

[...] I saw a large black winged ant crawling on the back of Jane’s rocker, close to her head. [...]

(I read the last sentence aloud, and Seth-Jane continued.)

[...] I answered it, then Jane took over when she was out of trance; for five minutes or so she talked to a woman who lived a couple of hours away and wanted to come to ESP class.)

[...] Jane has been extremely sore in her arms, shoulders, rib cage, and so forth today, yet she was able to stand taller, by leaning against the bathroom door frame, than I’d seen her do in a very long time. [...] Jane said her knees felt very light and considerably looser.

[...] Jane said the first thing she thought of when she read the article was that the stranger might have been on his way to see her for help. [...]

(Upon waking from her nap this afternoon, Jane again felt blue, deserted, and alone except for me in the world. [...]

(Jane nodded.

(“Can you tell me about the dream I told Jane, concerning the primitive men?”)

[...] Jane’s voice was quiet throughout the session, her pace mostly good, but with some long pauses. [...]

(Before the session I reminded Jane that we wanted something from Seth on her adverse reactions to the stronger-than-aspirin pills she’s been experimenting with lately: Tylenol, etc. [...]

(We also discussed a letter Jane had received today from a young man who’d visited us unannounced a couple of months ago; he thinks he’s being bugged by nasty voices from outer space; before that he’d insisted that Seth was speaking through him. [...]

(I ended up this evening wondering why nature would provide within its limitless possibilities that of such nasty ideas or creations—which, I told Jane, only meant that we had the power or ability to create such ungainly hassles. [...]

(After the session Jane tried a brief experiment. [...] In a moment, without trying too hard, Jane said it was Matthew’s. She didn’t know why she came up with that answer and she didn’t try to find out more — nor, she said, did her statement necessarily constitute a reply from or through Seth. [...]

[...] Jane’s hour-long delivery had been steady, forceful, and immune to the very hot and damp evening. [...]

[...] Still in trance, Jane took up a fresh cigarette. [...]

(Jane did very well reading aloud the first two notes I’d written for Session 907 of Dreams, as well as yesterday’s session. [...] Peggy Gallagher visited briefly in the middle of Jane’s effort.)

(At 9 PM tonight Jane said she felt a “massive presence” behind her chair. [...]

[...] Jane held the session in the usual manner.

(Jane began speaking with many pauses, some of them quite long.)

[...] Jane’s pace had remained quite slow with many pauses. [...]

[...] Jane’s pace had picked up a bit by break, but was still slow. [...]

[...] Our cat, Willy, suddenly jumped up into Jane’s lap — just as he’d done in the last session. Instinctively I spoke to him rather loudly, afraid he’d shock Jane out of trance. [...]

[...] (Jane, as Seth, directed an inquiring look at me.) Unless you have any preliminary questions…

[...] Jane said she had been bothered by him, and by my sneezing. [...]

(The hospital was hardly a quiet place, what with fire trucks and police cars pulling up beneath our window with sirens screeching and wailing, and with people in the hall outside 330 pushing carts that rattled and sounded like a bushel of pots and pans jouncing around — all of this as Jane was ready to begin the session. [...]

(I read the last line of the session back to Jane. [...]

[...] Three staff did Jane’s vitals. [...]

[...] I told Jane about the plan and she more or less likes it, although she mourns the loss of the trees. [...]

(After lunch Jane read yesterday’s session very well. [...]

[...] I did grab hold several times, and with the God of Jane book, the new inspiration there—and stuff on following impulses, made some very good improvements. [...]

JANE’S NOTES

[...] This afternoon I both heard and saw them, and called them to Jane’s attention—a wide, straggling, shifting, V-shaped flight vanishing over the valley holding the city just below us. [...]

I finished typing last Monday night’s session a few minutes before we sat for this one, and Jane just had time to read it before she felt Seth around: “Okay, I’m ready….”)

(See pages 47-48, for the list of foods I learned that Jane should avoid through my own pendulum. [...] My pendulum said salt was okay for Jane. [...] I knew this word but Jane did not; nor did she understand the formation of crystals near joints because of this chemical, which could then cause swelling. [...]

[...] Jane’s delivery had been a long and active one, her eyes open often as she spoke forcefully, and there had been no hint of the usual break at about 9:30. [...]
