In the past, when Seth told me to trust the spontaneous self, I said “Okay,” and imagined some hypothetical inner self somehow apart from my conscious intents. [...] This distant-seeming inner self wasn’t so distant after all; “it” communicated through my impulses. [...]

[...] It represents a turning away of consciousness from ordinary reality toward an inner one. [...]

When Seth began this manuscript, I was personally working with the idea of “heroic impulses” (those separate from our usual ones) that would operate as inner impetuses toward constructive action. [...]

[...] I see it as harking back to the poet’s original role; to explore the reaches of his or her private psyche, pushing against usual psychological boundaries until they give, opening up a new mystical territory — the psyche of the people, of the species itself — perceiving a spectacular vision of inner reality that the poet then communicates to the people, translating that vision through words, rhythm, or songs.

[...] The walking will be greatly improved as his inner alterations make themselves more obviously known, and as the muscles learn to work together again in their new framework. [...]

The dreams are providing him with excellent personal inner experience, telling him of his progress. [...]

[...] They are ill, unhappy, dissatisfied, and without your feelings of achievement or inner accomplishment. What you have, you have through an inner trust of the self and the psyche.

So the psychic families, or the families of consciousness, can be thought of as natives of inner countries of the mind, sharing heritages, purposes, and intents that may have little to do with the physical countries in which you live your surface lives. [...] In the same way, all the members of any given psychic family are spread across the earth, following inner patterns that may or may not relate to other issues as they are currently understood.

[...] There is indeed an inner kind of order that unites all of these issues; yet that inner order is not the result of laws, but of spontaneous creation, which flows into its own kinds of patterns. [...]

3. Seth discussed his “blueprints for reality” a number of times in Volume 1 of “Unknown” Reality. See the 696th session, for instance: “Each probability system has its own set of ‘blueprints,’ clearly defining its freedoms and boundaries … These are not ‘inner images of perfection,’ and to some extent the blueprints themselves change … As an individual you carry within you such a blueprint, then; it contains all the information you require to bring about the most favorable version of yourself in the probable system you know … In the same fashion the species en masse holds within its vast inner mind such working plans or blueprints.”

[...] In his inner vision these appeared as identical, simply so that he would identify them as portions of myself. [...]

[...] You will find that a very small pond arrangement, of the artificial purchased sort, a basin arrangement where water drips through rocks, behind the glass windows in the rear, here with a very simple grouping of rocks and flowers, would serve you to great benefit: as a place of inner contemplation, in which the inner senses would greatly expand their reach.

[...] Water, that is a body of water, has value for the development of inner abilities.

[...] Not for a sacred grove, and yet for a simple setting within the outdoor nature that would serve you very well for a different sort of inner sense development than you usually achieve indoors.

[...] Nevertheless he was basically creative, and despite uncontrolled and undisciplined energies, his basic creative inner sense added to the psychic atmosphere, but would have turned against him had he remained.

[...] Each person is born, however, with his or her—let me correct that—each person is born there with a private natural religion—one that rises from the springs of the individual psyche, and one that provides an easy, custom-made method of dealing with inner and outer reality. It is important, therefore, that such persons rediscover their natural heritage, and put themselves in touch once more with this inner, natural “religion.” [...]

Each person has a unique, natural, native way of dealing with the universe, and of relating to inner and outer reality. [...]

(Seth paused, so I asked him a second question from M.H.: “Is experiencing inner vibrational touch akin to reading an aura?”^*)

[...] Inner vibrational touch is a much more personal experience, more like “becoming a part of” that which you perceive, rather than for example a reading of an aura. [...]

[...] Granted that Seth’s material may “only” be bringing into our conscious awareness knowledge we already possess and use on other levels, still it’s a fine thing that his material makes us aware of that inner comprehension — and so new dimensions of consciousness become available to us. I “drew” a rough analogy with painting (to make a pun): The artist may start working on a blank canvas, yet each physical brush stroke he or she delineates is built upon inner knowledge and experience; in the painting these qualities are objectified in new combinations, which in turn add further to the artist’s conscious comprehension. [...] Because of Ruburt’s energy and creativity, he has always perfectly mirrored and even somewhat exaggerated the condition of the inner self, its activities and inner postures.”

[...] The time you seem to spend within the dream, within each life, is only an illusion, and to the inner self no moment has passed, and to the inner self there is no time.

[...] You are ready now to embark upon the inner roads of your own existence.

[...] But there is a part of you that is not imprisoned within three-dimensional reality, and that part of you knows that there is no time, that there is only an eternal now; and that part of you that knows is the whole self, the inner personality that knows all of your lives.

[...] There is at least a possibility that you and Ruburt, using your own individual inner senses, may at times perceive different aspects of a given situation, and that the individual perceptions will enable you to achieve a greater knowledge of a specific, or any specific, happening than either of you separately could achieve. [...] It is of great benefit that perceptions from the inner senses do not remain in the subconscious but become available to the intellect, and I will go into this at a future date.

In each dimension the inner self begins to handle further aspects of reality. [...] It manipulates in a larger number of dimensions, until it is able you see to handle many, not just one, of its own egos at any given “time”—and you may put time in quotes—while still maintaining its own inner stability and individuality. It takes on more roles, you see, and the psychological structure becomes more complicated as the inner self becomes sure enough of itself to admit ever more stimuli, while still retaining its own core.

The information was perceived through the inner senses, and though Ruburt is not consciously aware of the dream’s importance the inner self has assimilated the knowledge. [...]

[...] This is not unusual, for the inner self frequently leaves the body when the body sleeps.

Now certainly you recall our material on the inner senses. [...]

There are inner conventions, then, as there are outer ones. As the exterior mores try to force you to conform to the generally accepted ideas, so the interior conventions try to force you to make your inner experience conform to preconceived packaging.

[...] During the session Seth discussed inner sound in connection with Jane’s own physical symptoms. (In Volume 1 of “Unknown” Reality, see the 679th session before 10:31, and Note 8. The whole thing should be handled on a subconscious level, so that he seems to automatically prepare himself in advance in response to an inner knowledge as to whether or not witnesses will arrive. [...]

[...] This will not mean much to his present personality on a conscious level, but the fact that the message was not delivered will mean much to the inner self, for that previous personality had set store by it.

[...] It is sensitive however to panic and fear, and, affecting other glands working with inner subconscious mechanisms, it becomes overly stimulated and causes subconscious mechanisms to actually create, in matter, the object of the fears which have themselves caused the initial overaction.

[...] Always, however, there was the undeniable inner self in the background: man’s dreams, his biological and spiritual integrity, and these in one way or another were always before him.

In your probability you did allow the inner self some freedom. [...]

Now: In one way or another religions have always followed, again, the development of your consciousness, and so they have served its purposes and yours; and they have always reflected, though distorted, those greater inner realities of your being. [...]
