In the 24th session for February 10, 1964, Seth explained how a recent vision I’d had, involving a ladderlike series of heads opening and closing their silent mouths, had really been my attempt to cast inner data into a more familiar outer-sense kind of perception. [...]

[...] She told me that “something” wanted to manifest through her so slowly that it was almost inexpressible; she’d felt deep rolling sounds going through her, yearning to be translated, yearning to make sense in our terms. [...]

The inner ego is indeed the “I” of your dreams, having somewhat the same sort of position within the inner self as the ego itself has to the physical self. Actions however merge within the inner ego. [...] We will at a later time discuss this inner ego in connection with the dream situation and health.

[...] The inner ego of which we have spoken is the director of such unifying activities, and while the inner ego is mainly concerned with inner reality, it is also aware of physical existence.

It goes without saying that the dream universe is every bit as real to the inner self as the physical universe is to the conscious egotistical self. The physical universe is relatively (underline relatively) as unimportant to the inner self as the dream universe appears to be to the egotistical self.

The inner ego however is to some degree still familiar with their activities. Solutions found by these dream personalities are automatically picked up by the inner ego, and transmitted to the various levels of the self. [...]

[...] The brain itself contains knowledge that comes through the inner senses, and this knowledge would simply not be available to it, if it were dependent upon physical data completely.

Many times such constructions are used as inner visual patterns, for example. Visually they often bear a similarity to the inner architecture of the cells, and to planets. [...]

In your terms, practically speaking, probable events seem to make more sense when you think of them as latent future ones.

While your present conscious beliefs dictate your current experience, and while your physical body wears its solidity only in present time to your senses, beneath this both the ever-changing elements of your body and your consciousness are relatively free in time. [...]

First of all, when he cried out silently for you during a recent psychological time experience, it was because he sensed, through inner communications, a situation concerning a death in which he would need your support. [...]

[...] Sensing a death, immediately fearing that it was yours, Joseph, since he heard himself call for you, he hastily attempted to sacrifice his previous husband in your place. [...]

Such communications, though not necessarily tragic ones, are being received by every inner self. [...]

The situation for his mother would be much worse if she lingered, and she will find an exuberance, well-being, understanding and sense of peace, that she simply has not known in this particular existence.

[...] Your ideas and experiences with space and matter, however, are determined by your own sense apparatus. [...] Sense data are served up, so to speak, more or less already packaged. The greater inner reality of the psyche, however, is as extensive as outer space seems to be.

Psychologically and physically, however, you send out dream bulletins all the while in a constant inner communication. [...]

[...] The inner multidimensional shape of events occurs in a framework that you cannot structure, however, because as a rule you are not focused in that direction. [...]

In regard to your illness, no healing of any sort can ever take place without inner understanding and psychic comprehension. [...]

[...] Basically however in your case the illness was not serious, and the advantage that you would derive from my help in a healing capacity would have been outweighed entirely by several disadvantages that are almost always present, in the case of healing that does not originate from inner comprehension.

Ruburt sensed one in particular, and did indeed react in a manner that you found annoying. [...]

[...] A sense of purpose steadily applied, the continuity of feeling and work, the steady application over a period of years, these are not the marks of an extremist.

When the psychic development began, Ruburt was triumphant, for his abilities were flowering, and intuitively he sensed that direction, but the part of him that also dealt with the world was somewhat appalled, for again, such behavior was not conventional, and it was not particularly “the way to make friends and influence people.”

In the past, Ruburt didn’t realize fully that his nature was both flamboyant and conservative—that his nature was protected by a natural inner caution that would make the path for his flamboyancy clear. [...]

[...] Ruburt is definitely building up a good and dependable sense of trust with the body, and under conditions that were admittedly not of the best. [...]

[...] Some may even cause themselves to have severe accidents, in which they sacrifice portions of their bodies to retain a sense of —

[...] She said that she was doing well — obviously — then added that when she spoke a sentence for Seth she also sensed the other sentences to come, or those around the spoken one. [...]

[...] “It’s almost like instantly sensing a new tall structure, only it’s made of words.”

[...] Still, in most such instances those inner decisions can be easily reached — but while people are determined to “save face,” they will simply refuse to accept those decisions as their own. [...]

So, when you consider the dream world, you have the same sort of a universe, only one constructed on or within a field which your outer senses cannot perceive. But it has more continuity than the world known by the outer senses so intimately, and there are similarities within it that are amazing to behold.

[...] They, such dream objects, may be the method or means with which the inner self warns the personality of future possible disappointments or disasters.

The fact also remains that on other levels but conscious ones, you know and every individual knows that the dream world that the conscious mind believes so foolish and irrational, is indeed constructed by the inner self with utmost care, with a precision known only by the intuitions. [...]

[...] The only difference is that your conscious energies are focused upon only one rather minute aspect of creation, and all other larger fields of activity are closed off by the outer senses, simply so that the bulk of your attention be momentarily fixed upon one small area.

All of this becomes very complicated because of your value judgments, which oftentimes seem to lack — if you will forgive me — all natural common sense. [...] In those cultures, such taboos make good sense. [...]

[...] Alterations of consciousness, or attempts on the part of the individual to explore the inner self, may then easily display glimpses of a kind of sexuality that can appear to be deviant or unnatural.

These are simple enough examples, but the man who possesses interests considered feminine by your culture, who naturally wants to enter fields of interest considered womanly, experiences drastic conflicts between his sense of personhood and identity — and his sexuality as it is culturally defined. [...]

[...] Underneath the table I found a large jagged piece of glass, close to a foot across, propped up against the inner table leg where I usually sit. [...]

[...] Jane also sensed more information pertaining to my questions of a few sessions ago, on the relationship of disease with human beings.

Your own attitude was partially set by your father’s innate and quite strong sense of independence. [...] You would have felt freer had you tried to freelance; for freelancing, while it would have produced long range its own problems would have allowed you a greater sense of freedom.

[...] Your having a job made sense to you therefore for these reasons, more so than it did to Ruburt, who had no such countering influences. [...]

The entire environment concerning your brothers’ homes, and the implications, always upset Ruburt, for he sensed that influence.

[...] The problems that beset you were so aggravating precisely because in a sense they were not your natural set of problems. [...]

This allows the inner self to work much more quickly and effectively. You can trick normal consciousness quite easily with baubles, take its attention into other areas so that the inner self is left alone to do its work. [...]

These points are highly significant, and the world of the inner man will be found to gain depth, shape, motion, in and through space and time. [...]

[...] Odd sensation of inner, not physical, motion, and of pulsation.

Ruburt has found again what you never really lost—the sense of daily joy of existence—which he allowed himself unknowingly to relinquish for some time. [...]

[...] It is the mirror image of the inner environment, but of this you are usually not so aware. [...]

[...] In your system there is some lag before physical reality catches up with your inner conceptions. [...]

Often the black thing, or dark side of the personality, sensed and acknowledged that it was responsible for the helper, or the helper’s birth. [...]

Deplorable as world conditions seem, for example, as man’s desperate need for self-understanding is made known to himself, so in that world also there is a time of sensed change: new values that “will take this time.” [...] (More fireworks at 8:46, but Seth wasn’t bothered.) These periods involve accelerations, sensed while they may still be invisible, and it is this kind of period that you have just now entered into. [...]

[...] Her ass and buttocks and lower spine are a disaster area as far as bedsores go—much worse than previously, and, I told her, they must represent an exact replica of her inner state. [...]

[...] A time and a rhythm occurred in which you both knew that therapeutic ventures, started now for many reasons could take quicker route—that is, you sensed upon a new probability. [...]

(Pause at 8:43.) It attracted you—you felt the pull of needed change (with gestures), but this change had a new sense of attraction. [...]

[...] There are always inner pathways, however, leading between probable events; since all of them are manifestations of an act in its becoming, then the dimensions between these are illusions.

[...] The mind, which is the inner counterpart of the brain, can at times perceive the far greater dimensions of any given event through a burst of sudden intuition or comprehension that cannot be adequately described on a verbal level.

[...] The physically oriented consciousness, responding to one phase of the atom’s activity, comes alive and awake to its particular existence, but in between are other fluctuations in which consciousness is focused upon entirely different systems of reality; each of these coming awake and responding, and each one having no sense of absence, and memory only of those particular fluctuations to which they respond.

[...] The planning stages for events, and the inner communications necessary, occur on the part of the sleeping members, while the waking doers are involved in objective events.

Inner cooperation is maintained on the part of people in opposite portions of the world—methods that could not be utilized if all woke or slept at the same time. [...]

[...] The world mind, then, in your terms, could not be conscious all at one time, and the varying graduated waking-sleeping patterns—the overlapping between the extremes you mention—provide overall balance and allow for smooth communications of an inner kind.
