You might have, for example, poor eyesight while you are concentrating upon trying to heal yourself of something else—a broken leg: your eyes might be healed in a displacement effect, while the healing of your leg or whatever might be put off immediately because it is blocked by your own overconcern. (2. What does Jane’ sinful self think of the proceedings these days—of Jane’s new resolve and decisions toward healing? [...]

[...] He is now assimilating nourishment well enough so that the body can heal itself, and gain some weight besides. [...]

[...] I took her improvements with the arms as another indication of healing, along with her improved reading ability this afternoon.

There is no difference between the energy that shapes your ideas and the energy that grows a flower, or that heals your finger if you burn it. [...] The body constantly heals itself, which means that the soul in the flesh heals itself. [...]

[...] Those feelings of confidence arouse bodily healing processes, and promote the proper hormones, for example, and provide a climate in which healing naturally occurs.

That climate is sometimes suddenly produced—in a church congregation, for example—where it acts dramatically to bring about a healing. Unless the individual learns, however, to induce that psychological climate personally, the healing may not last. [...]

The body’s latest efforts to heal itself, Ruburt’s strong intent to become flexible, and your own help and encouragement, have led to a situation in which all of those tensions, exerted over a long period of time, are in the process of rather speedily being released. [...]

Once again, it is most important that Ruburt keep his goals in mind, and remember that despite any given mood the healing process continues. [...]

In these, and all situations, it should be remembered that the body is always trying to heal itself, and that even the most complicated relationships are trying to untangle.

The body’s own healing processes are forever active, however — which is why I so strongly advise that they be relied upon along with whatever medical help seems appropriate. [...]

[...] The idea is to clear the mind as much as possible from beliefs that impede the fine, smooth workings of the life force, and to actively encourage those beliefs and attitudes that promote health and the development of all aspects of healing experience.

[...] It was that the body healed itself at a rate prescribed by its circumstances — that actually it could heal itself very rapidly if it was unimpeded. Thus, being in a hospital with all the negative suggestions could operate telepathically as well as overtly to slow down healing. The insight, which is hardly original, popped into my mind when I asked Jane why the healing was taking so long, in response to something she said. [...]

Then when she changed the patch on Jane’s nose, that protects against the hard bridge of her glasses, Phyllis discovered that the irritated and sore nose had healed itself under the patch, unknown to all, since the patch has been there a long while. She put on a new one, though, to protect the tender bridge of the nose while it heals even more. [...]

(However, this morning, Jane said, Fred was amazed at the way the large ulcer on the outside of her right knee is healing itself. [...]

All practical healing deals with the insertion of positive suggestions and the removal of negative ones. [...]

I bid you both another fond good afternoon, and I have indeed quickened those coordinates that lead to healing and well-being.

I do feel that part of that enrichment involves a worldwide (and possibly universal) healing action, contributed to by each living form—that here on earth, at least, this vital force of our own creation sustains us in an unending grand synthesis of regeneration. [...] Our species should study the whole subject of global healing, so that it can use the knowledge gained to lead itself into new areas of thought and feeling.

Ruburt is being healed. Left alone, the body will heal itself, encountering itself in its own reality. [...]

[...] It has a way to go before it’s called fully healed, but she’s made remarkable progress with it, I told her. [...]

[...] Without our saying anything, she remarked on how well Jane’s ulcers were healing, and how much better she was. [...]

The hospital, for all its healing intentions, is often a repressive institution rather than an expressive one. [...]

[...] But I’d presented myself with a clear little demonstration that Seth had been right, and that I should tell myself that Jane was being healed, and that I didn’t have to worry. [...] I would say to myself when I found myself worrying about her: “Jane is being healed. [...]

[...] It was a good analogy—to let the unconscious mind be concerned with how she was going to be healed, and so forth. [...]

[...] She was to do the exercises without wondering which ones to do, etc., just as she was to accept the body’s own order in the unconscious healing process.

While I want to emphasize that point, I also want to remind you that innately and ideally the body is quite equipped to heal itself, and certainly to cure its own momentary headache. You would have to substitute an entirely different learning system, at your present stage, for the body to show its true potentials and healing abilities.

(4:05.) In other cases of a child’s illness, have the child play a healing game, in which he or she playfully imagines being completely healthy again, outdoors and playing; or have the youngster imagine a conversation with a friend, describing the illness as past and gone. [...]

Many ancient and so-called primitive peoples utilized play — and drama, of course — for their healing values, and often their effects were quite as therapeutic as medical science. [...]

[...] If one family deals with the nature of healing, then you can slice it down to the healing of a toe … an ear … an eye.

The categories [healing, teaching, or whatever] are general descriptions of the families of consciousness. [...]

[...] That is why your suggestions of today are so vital, stating that you do have faith that Ruburt’s condition is now in the process of being healed in Framework 2, and that the results will show in Framework 1. It is important that you realize that the healing is now taking place in Framework 2 whether or not you see immediate results in any given day or not. [...]

[...] It is far easier, basically speaking now, for the body to heal itself than for it not to. [...]

The mood, however, and the results that you achieved today, if sustained, draws to you from all of your experience and from the vast potential of Framework 2 those body events, healing situations, dreams, impulses, or whatever is needed to right Ruburt’s condition.

The obvious improvement in Ruburt’s knee is a fine example of the body’s self-healing processes.

Animals have indeed often been quite helpful to man in various healing situations and encounters, but in all such cases these were cooperative ventures.

[...] (4:43.) Take to heart what I said about Ruburt’s knee, so that he realizes in fact that the healing processes are indeed operating within him all the time. [...]

It is embarked upon different processes now as it searches for the best conditions for self-healing procedures. [...]

I am still in the process of trying to reassure him, of course, but in a fashion we are indeed dealing with a kind of biological logic that will stand up in its own light—that will produce its own evidence as you learn to accept the rightness of your bodies (pause), and their abilities, for they are natural healing mechanisms. Ruburt’s recent discomfort is partially caused by the fear that his body will not be able to completely heal itself, even if he does uncover all of the reasons for his predicament.

[...] Of course, we noticed that Seth had said that Jane’s discomfort was only partially caused by her fears that she cannot heal herself. [...]
