“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

I can’t note the same for The Magical Approach to Reality: A Seth Book—the very promising work that Jane and I first discussed a year and a half ago [in August 1980], after Seth had started his group of excellent private sessions on that subject.⁸ I watched Jane try to write the book a number of times; last month, in Note 6 for Session 939 [in this chapter], I finally expressed the opinion that she wouldn’t finish the job. [...] At the same time, Iran’s mullahs want a continuing war with Iraq to help consolidate their total power; they do not want victorious, high-ranking military leaders back home from the front to challenge their undisputed power (as internal resistance groups like the Mujahedin-e Khalq are doing). According to Seth, and Jane’s and my own experiences, each individual is a member of a group of “counterparts”—each is psychically connected to other men and women alive on earth now, in various countries, who are exploring related lifetime themes in ways that no individual could ever do. [...]

[...] Consider the following group of events as seen through a narrow window of ordinary time; consider the moral, economic, and diplomatic impact they have had—and are still having—upon our own national interests (let alone the interests of other nations). [...]

[...] While it is easy then to understand the nature of exterior actions of repetitive quality, it is far more difficult to see many physical symptoms in the same light — but here also whole groups of recurring reactions to certain stimuli are involved. [...]

In the past some religious groups have also promoted beliefs that illness is a sign of God’s punishment, or vengeance for sins committed against his “goodness.”

Finally, then: I was working on this introduction late in October 2002 when Laurel and I were visited by five members of the Houston, Texas, Seth group: Winter Calvert, Theresa Smith, Jim and Debbie Serra, and Yvette Silva. I had corresponded with a few members of the group, and Jim and his wife had visited me some time ago. The five were accompanied by Richie Kendall; he’s an old friend from the days of Jane’s ESP class—one of the New York City boys, as Jane used to fondly refer to that group. [...]

Meeting the Houston Seth Group was a nice event for Rob and me. [...] The Houston Seth Group went thru not one but two powerful hurricanes just a month before they visited, a week apart! [...]

On this October day last fall, as we stood in Jane and Rob’s driveway, (now my driveway also) at Pinnacle Road, Rob and most of the group started looking around the front of the house. I stood talking at the entrance of our driveway with a writer in the group.

[...] As this group of sessions slowly accumulated, often as “deleted” or unpublished portions of “regular” sessions, Jane and I took it for granted that since they were personal they would stay that way. [...]

[...] When the dominating ego relaxes its control for any reason or becomes weakened, then according to their concept any one of the subsidiary groups may take over.

[...] But this is all highly simplified, for the ego structure is not one thing, but a changing, never constant, actually quite informal grouping of psychological patterns. [...]

[...] There are continual groupings and regroupings, but basic identities are always retained. [...]

[...] Often nations acted as group egos — each with its own god-picturing, its own concepts of power. Whenever a tribe or a group or a nation decided to embark upon a war, it always used the concept of its god to lead it on.

[...] It has learned to identify with one small group of neurologically accepted responses. [...]

Whole groups of muscles, particularly on Ruburt’s right side, are letting down, straightening and also untwisting from head to toe. [...]

[...] The next statement, about “A group... [...] It is a low table; often a group of the children would be playing games on the table, and to do this they had to sit on the floor. [...]

[...] (Pause.) The circumstance having a connection with a letter from the western portion of the country, or west of his location, from a university or large foundation of some sort, or from a man who is connected with such a group.

In Ruburt’s case, he began with a group of ideas and beliefs that only became restrictive when carried to extremes. [...]

[...] It involved Jane washing the internal organs of a woman who’d died and had been well-known to a group of people—someone like Jane herself. [...]

[...] Later, a woman dies who is well-known to a group of people who are with Ruburt. [...]

Also in the same manner dreams were an aid in navigation, so that they served to let sailors know when land was near before it could be physically perceived—and there is no human activity to which dreams and group dreams have not contributed.

As far as group dreaming is concerned, however, there are still some people who have always served as watchdogs in that regard, while others even in the dream state operate as healers or teachers or explorers or whatever. [...]

[...] In two cases he was using his own energy to sustain and direct the group, and to transport them, so to speak. He had some help from others in the group, but not enough for such sustained effort.

Earlier, when this latest group of sessions began, he could not have played badminton, much less taken that trip. [...]

[...] Before one group of muscles on one side would react in one way, while the other side would react in another way, so that the conflict between spontaneity and caution was objectified.

(10:09.) On quite a different level, riots often serve the same purpose, where the release of energy, for whatever reasons, introduces a group of individuals to the intimate recognition that highly concentrated vitality exists. [...]
