[...] It has a validity within very limited perspectives only; for consciousness does, indeed, evolve form. Form does not evolve consciousness. On the other hand, more complicated organizations of consciousness are necessary to form, enter, and vitalize the more complicated physical structures. All structure is formed by consciousness. [...] The living portions of nature are the result of your own creativity, projections and fragments of your own energy; energy that comes to you from All That Is and goes outward from you, forming its own image manifestations as you form yours.

You are biologically connected, chemically connected with the earth that you know; but since it is also formed naturally and spontaneously from your own projected psychic energy, since you and the seasons even have a psychic interaction, then the self must be understood in a far greater context. Such a context would allow you to share in life experiences of many other forms, to follow patterns of energy and emotion of which you barely conceive, and to sense a world-consciousness in which you have your own independent part.

[...] The form of a man for example, may be a thought form, or fragment sent quite unconsciously by another individual whom it resembles. [...] It may be a potential form like any potential object—a played-over-and-over-again record of a form.

[...] You agree to form this into certain patterns, and you agree to ignore other data completely. These, now, root agreements, form the main basis for the apparent permanence and coherence of your physical system.

We gave you the pattern by which your physical selves are formed. We gave you the pattern by which you learned to form your physical reality. We gave you the patterns intricate, involved, and blessed from which you form the reality of each physical thing you know. You remember that I listed briefly the three forms that you use during your projections. Now I will also say that in the first form you usually use certain inner senses; in the second form you use more of these, you see, and in the third form you make an attempt to use all of them, though very rarely is this successful.

In the third form your experiences will be more vivid. They will involve you perhaps in other systems beside your own, and you will have little contact with your physical form. For this reason projection in the third form is the most difficult to maintain. The possibilities are truly fascinating, but there are dangers that do not exist when the other two forms are used.

Usually you will project from the physical body into the first form, and then perhaps into the second form. [...] There are indeed however ways and signs that tell you when you switch from one form to the other, and we shall indeed see that you know these. You should both—this is Joseph and Ruburt now—you should both have several examples of projections within the first and second forms in the following months, if your development continues at its present rate.

[...] They are necessary to develop communication between nonphysical consciousness and the physical form which it has adopted. Consciousness, in forming an image, or creating it, then responds to it creatively, setting up frameworks for further creative actions. Consciousness experiences reality directly, but having formed physical matter into a personal image, it must then creatively translate data to that physical brain. [...]

Behind these, so to speak, exist what you may term temperature pictures, in which delicate gradations of heat form ever-shifting emotional patterns that do have a semiphysical outline. From these, you see, normal images are built up, and from the images thoughts are formed.

[...] Various portions of the self retain memory of the information, still in the form in which they have interpreted it. The thoughts and images, while being condensed, are nevertheless then retained in their particular levels of the personality in their own form.

Creativity connects waking and dreaming reality, and is in itself a threshold in which the waking and dreaming selves merge to form constructs that belong equally to each reality. You cannot begin to understand how you form the physical events of your lives unless you understand the connections between creativity, dreams, play, and those events that form your waking hours. [...] The spontaneous activity, however, is at the same time training in the art of forming practical events.

[...] The rain that hits your backyard as warm drops, soft and clear, may be hail in areas far above your rooftop, but it changes its form as it falls — again, according to the conditions that it encounters. So these “alien intrusions” do the same, and the dreams are like the raindrops, for at other “higher” levels they may have quite a different form indeed.

[...] In the laboratory of dreams this information is processed, collected, and finally formed into the dreams that you may or may not remember; dreams that are already translations of other events, shaped into forms that you recognize.

You wanted to express now the fuller inspirations that come later, and with an exquisite sense of form that Josef never learned. The sense of form incidentally will, mark my words, emerge in a new way for you, but even the information given that so upset you had its purpose in your whole plan.

Your form is ready. The ideas I have given you will bring that form to free life, however, if you use them. [...]

It mentally formed the patterns through which all physical life could flow. Your consciousness then takes many forms, and these forms need not be alike any more, say, than a caterpillar is like a butterfly. [...] It changes its form to suit its expression, and it forms environments like stage settings, and worlds to suit its purposes. [...]

(10:07.) Since you all have a hand in forming this physical setting, and since you are ensconced yourself in a physical form, then using the physical senses you will only perceive this fantastic setting. [...]

[...] The pleasure principle can probably be likened most to the latent appreciation of beauty that is everywhere apparent if you look for it: the ecstasy of each form of life for the wonders of its own existence, in which love’s values go beyond themselves, and yet a condition in which each species or life form “realizes” that its own fulfillment adds immeasurably to the existence of all other forms.

As I have mentioned many times, animals then dream, as do plants, insects, and all forms of life. All molecular constructions exhibit that certain kind of introspective activity, as if the inner working of some giant computer was intimately in touch not only with its own programming and the probabilities connected with it, but with a deep psychological awareness of the activities of the electrons and various visible and invisible particles that form its own physical construction.
