When you had a job the issue was clear for each of you: in your free time you felt you had a perfect right to paint or write, do relaxation exercises or psychological time. [...]

In regard to your dream: The shakiness represented values and ideas from your mother, primarily about work — beliefs you always felt were shaky. [...]

If Ruburt once found himself imagining that he must be strong and perfect enough to help solve everyone else’s problems, now he found himself relatively helpless, and “undefended” —that is, his physical condition put him in a situation certainly where he felt helpless. [...] His weaknesses were out in the open, dramatically presented, and from that point, unless he chose death he could only go forward: for suddenly he felt that there was after all some (underlined) room to move, that achievements were possible, where before all achievements seemed beside the point in the face of his expected superhuman activity. [...] She appeared to have left trance as she talked, but then said: “If I came out so good, how come I’m still half under?” As before recently, Jane was partially in trance during break, but felt well. [...]

[...] She said she felt that “his” abstract idea behind or beyond the term coordinates, was far removed from our earthly experience.)

I guess I think that all disease, to one extent or another, anyway, is fear (pause), and I felt a few minutes ago my neck doing some odd things. [...] But I felt tubes coming down my neck where they’d been so rigid that they bent where they shouldn’t, and the blood flow wasn’t as good in those bends. [...] And I felt the same thing happening down toward the arms, and that there was one long tube in particular in my left arm that had been bent and twisted, like a portion of a rubber hose —and that also had to do with the release of wrist and elbow motion, and that that was releasing, getting straighter and unbending. [...]
