[...] The tree lives through its inner senses, experiencing many sensations and reacting to many stimuli of which you are unaware. Minute earth tremors, even the motion of small ants about its lower trunk — these are recognized and experienced. [...]

[...] The other two actions are experienced however, but not within the physical system. [...]

[...] The probable actions were definitely perceived and experienced however, and these experiences make up the existence of this other portion of the self, as indeed dream actions make up the experience and existence of the dream self, or of the I as it exists within the dream state.

(After that session Jane stopped trying to reach this state, and has not experienced it to this date.)

[...] At the same time the difficulty experienced by her ego cries out for the sort of fulfillment that could be achieved through the development of these abilities.

[...] As we discussed it a little she reminded me that she still experienced feelings of isolation at times. [...]

[...] Such affairs are only the shadows of probabilities—that is, experienced merely as shadows, and not fleshed out, because of your own better attitudes and knowledge. [...]

While you go about your daily chores and endeavors, beneath normal waking consciousness you are constantly focused in other realities also, reacting to stimuli of which your physical conscious self is not aware, perceiving conditions through the inner senses, and experiencing events that are not even registered within the physical brain. [...] Still another, vaster you might be aware of all the different methods of experiencing that particular page, which is your life as you understand it.

(Now Seth briefly discussed some out-of-body episodes that Jane had experienced yesterday afternoon.)

[...] I want if possible to get the idea over that this system involves realities that are directly experienced and vivid, and also that in some ways emotions and thoughts are more directly perceived in that field than your physical field. [...]

[...] In the dream state you experienced literally a future life that existed as a definite possibility. [...]

(Long pause.) There are organizations, patterns that people try out throughout their lives, changing often from one to the other, interpreting and therefore of course experiencing reality through many different casts. [...]

Look out—do not think of your problems—think of what you are experiencing at the time. [...]

(This is very good data, and at times I have experienced this effect. [...]

[...] Jane experienced an average dissociation, she said. [...]

Again, the dimensions of the psyche must be experienced, to whatever degree. [...]

[...] It demands a peculiar and distinctive mixture of various kinds of consciousness, and the transformation of “nonphysical perception” into symbols and codes that will be sensually understood, though not directly experienced as in waking experience.

[...] While our meetings take place in your time, and in the physical space of your house, say, the primary encounter must be a subjective inner one, an intersection of consciousnesses that is then physically experienced.

[...] The realization is like one that comes at one time or another to many people in the dream state, when suddenly they “awaken” while still in the dream, realizing first of all that they are dreaming, and secondarily that they are themselves creating the experienced drama.
