2. See Note 1 for the 727th session; it contains references to two sessions on the fetus, as Jane excerpted them for The Seth Material. Now see the 557th session for Chapter 13 of Seth Speaks; Seth presented additional information on the various ways reincarnating personalities associate themselves with the fetus. [...]

Seth has briefly referred to astrology a few times over the years. [...] For the moment, then, Jane and I think that Seth’s material on astrology in this 729th session (and, it soon developed, in the 730th) can serve as his answer to those who have asked for his opinion about it.

5. I think that in his material from 10:17 to 10:25 here, Seth very neatly summarizes much of his thinking about how each of us constantly moves through a multitude of probable realities, meeting certain others in any one space-time environment, perceiving individual versions of any given event … Very useful information. [...]

(As it turned out, we didn’t ask Seth about promotion work again, and he didn’t bring up the subject himself. The Seth Material was published in September, 1970, and we did go on tour.)

[...] Here Seth refers to my being called Mr. Roberts on occasion during the tour. Part of this was caused by an error on the jacket copy of The Seth Material. [...]

[...] I wanted as little surplus material here as possible, thinking it would be easier to take our time moving items from Sayre to the new location, wherever it might be.

[...] I suppose it’s not a good idea to keep the third carbon of this material there, either. [...]

(Seth discussed generalized sinful-self material in only one of the five private sessions Jane has held since she came through with the 931st session for Dreams three weeks ago.¹ In some respects lately she’s felt a bit more at ease.²

[...] It took me some time after she’d started delivering the Seth material to realize that in spite of her outgoing, friendly nature, Jane is as much a private person as I am.)

3. I see correlations between Seth’s material here and my speculations at the end of the 922nd session (for this chapter), concerning his apparently unlimited capacity for oral history.

[...] Of that last total, she devoted 13 sessions to material on the magical approach to reality, and 27 to the subject of the sinful self. [...]

In The Seth Material, I included only a few brief quotes from “The Physical Universe As Idea Construction,” but here I will go into that manuscript somewhat more thoroughly, since it is so close to the “raw form” that erupted from that experience and represents, in embryo, I believe, the material that Seth would later be giving us. [...]

I described that experience in The Seth Material, but because it rose from the world of dreams and is so connected with unconscious activity, I want to examine it from a different viewpoint here. [...]

[...] The third occurred in February 1964, shortly after the Seth sessions had begun. [...]

The physical body is the material construction of the entity’s idea of itself under the properties of matter.

[...] It clearly foreshadows certain ideas in the Seth material, which she was to begin delivering 19 months later. [...]

I wasn’t about to close off the Seth material until I made up my mind, though. [...] Suppose I stopped having the sessions while I tried to figure things out, then decided that Seth was right on all counts — and found I just couldn’t have sessions again? [...]

[...] Either that, or Seth and the material — still so strange to me — were giving answers that I refused, so far, to accept in practical terms.

One night Rob asked Seth about it, and Seth said,

Both of us had been wondering about the crisis Seth had mentioned for Miss Cunningham on April 15. As it happened a regular session night fell on that date, and, having heard nothing, Rob asked Seth if there had been any distortion in the message.

(Seth’s dictation on his book tonight was preceded by four pages of personal material that we have deleted. [...]

In other portions of the Seth material these processes will be made very clear for those of you who desire to pursue the question further, or those who may be interested from a scientific point of view. [...]

(In my original and unpublished notes in Session 520 in Seth Speaks I listed three chances for the fruition of Seth’s prediction: The mention in Cosmopolitan of Jane’s ESP book for April 1970; Tam’s news about New American Library being very interested in the Seth material book; or Jane’s contract for the dream book being in the mail from Prentice-Hall.)

(On the evening of April 2, while brushing her teeth, Jane got this flash from Seth: “You need to relearn the joy of physical achievement.”)

[...] Even in this immature work, which she produced 11 years before she was to initiate the Seth material, her mystical nature was asserting its innate knowledge.)

[...] We talked of illustrating Jane’s book on the Seth material, which she is now writing.

(We did not press Seth for an item-by-item interpretation of the rest of the impressions. I had prepared this test envelope for last Wednesday’s session but did not use it then; the session was witnessed by the Gallaghers and the test was shoved aside by other developments, notably the impromptu discussion between Seth, Bill and Peg. [...]

[...] Seth referred to this in the last session briefly. [...]

[...] Dr. Menahem very favorably compares the Seth material with a number of psychological disciplines, and I told Jane I hoped his feature would show her that the general validity of her work would continue to grow. [...]

(4:44 p.m. Jane had been interrupted twice within three minutes since last break.“Gee, I felt these great big chunks of material there,” she said. [...]

[...] (Long pause.) This book however, written by me, will therefore be entirely Seth material. [...]

[...] Not that she thought Seth was there to be seen, but she did sense something out of the ordinary. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(In his radio and TV tours, Richard offered to mention The Seth Material and Seth Speaks, to help boost sales. This besides asking his editor to read Jane’s material.)

[...] He called Jane last Friday from his home in Bridgehampton, New York; he wanted some insights into his writing of Seagull; Richard attended ESP class last night, and heard Seth, Sumari, etc. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”

It is therefore no coincidence that Richard was a student of Nebene’s, and the material on the reincarnational aspects (that Jane gave in ESP class last night) is quite correct. [...]

Early in our sessions, Seth said that he once had a Turkish existence, but we have no information on one for us. We have all kinds of gaps to be filled in on our own past lives, however, because as long as I refused to accept reincarnation, I asked Rob not to ask for reincarnational material. Also, I became so upset when Seth gave such data that he probably thought it best to discontinue it for a while. When Seth is involved with a block of sessions on one subject, we hate to upset the continuity of the material by asking him to go into something else, and besides, we’ve learned that Seth eventually answers as many of our questions as possible.

I could write several books dealing with dreams alone, as Seth explains them. According to the Seth Material, our psychic development and growth, learning processes and experience, are all involved with our dream life. [...]

[...] Seth says that he has personally assisted me in some of my own projection experiments, but that I have not been aware of his assistance. I’ve never dreamed of Seth, and I find this rather strange. I’ve often awakened, fully alert, in the middle of the night, suddenly conscious that I’ve been giving a kind of Seth session. I can hear Seth’s words going through my head like signals. [...] Later the people involved told me that they dreamed that Seth was speaking to them through me on the same nights as my experiences. [...]

While all of this is of practical interest, Rob and I are even more intrigued by Seth’s explanation of dream reality. [...] Seth began his discussions on the nature of dream reality very soon after the sessions began, and they still continue. Until I learned from Seth to “monitor” my own dreams, and awaken my critical faculties, I was simply astounded by some of his statements.

(As Seth states, Jane did have a dream about the idea the following night, September 11,1963. [...] As mentioned many, many sessions ago, however, her poem The Fence, written in May 1963, clearly foreshadows the Seth material, dealing with [but not always by outright name] such subjects as reincarnation, dreams, unperceived worlds, etc. [...]

[...] Howard wanted to look at some paintings, and of course some conversation ensued involving the new director at the gallery, who was discussed by Seth in the 74th session.

[...] Jane was fully dissociated; so much so, she said, that she hadn’t followed the material at all, and had no idea whether it was any good or not.

(Seth finished dictating his last book, The “Unknown” Reality: A Seth Book, three months ago, in the 744th session for April 23. [...] As soon as I realized why she was holding off, I decided to put her back to work on the Seth material, even though she hasn’t yet finished her own Psychic Politics.

(At supper time this evening I told Jane that tonight she was going to  start dictating a new book for Seth, the “energy personality essence” for whom she speaks while she’s in trance — and that she was going to do the notes also. I’d record the “sessions,” adding times, dates, and the barest sort of other material, so that Jane could build up her own notes around those ingredients. [...]

(So it seemed that we were about to get underway with another excellent production from Seth, with Jane’s considerable — indeed vital — help. I understood that she might be a little concerned about his starting a new book on such short notice; but on the other hand, I had no doubt at all that Seth — and Jane — could do it. [...]

[...] And I’m not ready for either of the books Seth has mentioned doing — the Christ book, or the one he talked about last month, on cultural reality. [...]

(From September 7 until 19 Jane and I were on a radio and television tour of seven cities, to publicize Jane’s book, The Seth Material. We found the experience stimulating and educational; Seth spoke on television in Boston, and was very well received.

[...] (As Seth, Jane delivered this material vigorously, her pace rapid.) The great power and energy of love and creativity is apparent in the mere fact of your existence. [...]

[...] I told her that, according to Seth, each personality making up an entity could manifest itself physically as often as it chose to. Seth then interrupted us at 11:40.)

[...] Now with this work taken care of, Jane was eager for Seth to resume work on his book.

[...] The Spazianis have known about the Seth material from the beginning, and have read some of the earlier sessions; indeed, it was Jane’s borrowing Jim’s Ouija board in November 1963, that led to the flow of the Seth material.

[...] She said that while she was delivering the above material on one level, she also received the thought from Seth “on another level” that she should sleep for three-quarters of an hour after supper on session nights. [...]

(I would like to remind the reader here that when Seth uses the term “area,” he means what up until recently he has called a “level” of the subconscious. [...] Seth has mentioned this at various times.

(Thinking the session now over, I then brought up the thought that I suspected a distortion in Seth’s interpretation of the first dream, where he stated that before being born I saw my brother Loren as a woman. I thought I recalled Seth stating many sessions ago that Loren had been three times a man, but never a woman, and had a woman’s life ahead of him.
