The tree bark for example is not really divided from the rest of the tree, yet I must speak as if it were so divided because this is one of the apparent effects that you see, and I could not ignore what you insist was the evidence of your senses. —and evidently some minds do work in such ways that anything not rooted in the “objective, external” world literally does not exist; this orientation includes the belief, the “fact,” that even all thinking or feeling is so related to that outsideness, or is so a part of it, that there is no separation possible.
