“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(All week we’ve been doing additional medical notes for the copy-edited manuscript of Mass Events. [...] We’ve even considered withdrawing Mass Events from publication, although Tam reassured Jane this morning that things would work out all right. [...] Now we have an idea for our own type of “disclaimer” for the frontmatter of Mass Events, based upon a very apt quote from Seth’s material that we found late in the book. [...]

Now: As I said before, also, when faced with the difficulty, the conventional, rational approach tells you to look at the problem, examine it thoroughly, project it into the future, and imagine its dire consequences — and so, faced with the idea of a disclaimer (for Mass Events), that is what you did to some extent, the two of you. [...]

[...] Seth’s amused reference was to manuscript page 457 in Mass Events. [...]

[...] I do want to point out, however, that a state you usually call dreaming is but a dim indication of an inner reality of events (intently), an inner order of events from which the physical world emerges. [...]

(Saturday afternoon Jane finished typing the final version of her Introduction for Mass Events, and yesterday morning I mailed it to Tam Mossman at Prentice-Hall.

[...] They maintain that all of the earth’s living forms have remained essentially unchanged since that prime creative event; they can account for the disappearance of the dinosaurs, for example, and the vast number of other life forms we no longer see around us. [...]

[...] You can see how your own creativity is emerging in the notes for Mass Events. Granted, you need time to write physically, but the basic creativity has its own ‘time.’

[...] You are so intimately connected with the physical events composing your life experience that often you cannot distinguish between the seemingly material occurrences and the thoughts, expectations and desires that gave them birth.

[...] They point clearly to the nature of physical events. [...]

[...] Only when it refuses responsibility does it finally find itself at the seeming mercy of events over which it appears to have no control.

This is another classic example of an event that science would label simply “coincidental” without being able to give any objective proof to back up its contention.

[...] They insist that more than coincidence is involved — that the event is significant.

I get the feeling that events are getting knocked into and out of prominence all the time! [...]

(Yesterday while proofreading the Mass Events galleys I got the feeling that that book really bothered me, served as a focal point. [...] Before though, the fact escaped me that Seth had started Mass Events—representing his and my direct attack on official dictums—or so it seemed to me. [...]

Two and a half years ago I wrote in the closing notes for Session 869, in Chapter 10 of Mass Events, that she had finally received from Seth the full title for this book: Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. Mass Events was published eight months ago, and we have been receiving a steady flow of inquiries as to when Dreams will be issued. [...]

[...] You are never at the periphery of events.

[...] Its “deductions” about any given event are also necessarily colored by judgments that lie outside of its province. [...]

Ideas of course are highly important, for they are a part of your interpretation of the world, of personal events, and they are a part of the symbolizing process. [...]

[...] The business involving Leonard is the only major event that’s penetrated my own attempts to concentrate in the moment, since I embarked upon that endeavor some weeks ago. [...]

Any new events brings with it new probabilities—and since you are now on a favorable road of probabilities those doors that open will also be advantageous. [...]

I spoke of such matters somewhat today, when I said that often people worry that the worst, rather than the best events will happen. [...]

[...] You must simply trust the beneficial nature of events. [...]

[...] I knew full well that new events brought in new probabilities. [...]

(It’s almost as though there’s an unspoken agreement among Jane, Seth and me — but starting with the 846th session, which was held over a month ago [on April 4], Seth has been dictating material for Mass Events on Wednesday evenings only.)

[...] In your arena of events, obviously, one man’s good can be another’s disaster. [...]

[...] Hitler’s daydreams became more and more grandiose, and in their light, the plight of his country seemed worsened with each day’s events. [...]

[...] For the first time the modern world realized its vulnerability to political events, and technology and communication accelerated all of war’s dangers. [...]

[...] After having a cigarette after lunch, Jane started reading the session for November 20, since I hadn’t typed up any notes yet for yesterday’s events. She was disappointed at this, since she knew yesterday’s events had been significant, and she wanted to read about them. [...]

[...] I would like to summarize yesterday’s events, though, because they contain some extremely important points that we don’t want to lose track of. [...]

Now you are used, to some extent, to studying your dreams for precognitive information and checking dream events against future events, but you are not used to checking your reactions in the waking state today against the information that you learn tomorrow. [...]

([Joel:] “Yes, because I was thinking of an event rather than words, but you picked up on the words rather than the event.”)

[...] Understand, however, that in your own way you also perceive unconsciously and react to such information, and that many of your unaccountable moods, fears, but also inspirations, have their source in events that, in your terms, have not yet occurred. [...]

At this writing, Seth is nearly halfway through The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, which will show where and how private beliefs become public events. [...]

[...] Yet, each minute event immeasurably increases not only itself but all other events, bringing into birth by its own actualization an infinitude of novus actions and events, an unfolding or multi-dimensionalizing of itself, an initiation into dimensionalization. For all versions and possibilities of each event must be actualized in the limitless multiplication of creativity.

Each probable event is changed by each other probable event. [...]

[...] This time I change the events from the way they happened the first time, realize how important his problems are to him, smile and send him good thoughts. [...]

[...] Your own experience can be used to benefit the class at large, for you must be led to see that you can alter physical events in such a way. [...]

[...] Birth and death contain between them the earthly experience that you perceive as happening within a given period of time, through various seasons, and involving unique perceptions within areas of space — encountered with other human beings, all to one extent or another sharing with you events caused by the intersection of the self and time and space.

The experience that you wrote of was significant on several levels, and of course was meant to reassure you ahead of time because of the events you knew would occur. [...]

[...] Beneath the surface of events you felt unfulfilled, and felt that you had great courage and abilities with never a chance to use them, and no “heroic” episodes then to rouse you to fuller understanding, and no real impetus to lift you or to bring excitement into your days. [...]

(Jane had no idea of what Seth would talk about during the session, although both of us hoped he would discuss the events of last Friday evening, September 23, at home. [...]

[...] That belief generates certain actions or events, so that practically speaking, while he sees the flames, and perhaps smells the smoke, the heat of the fire will have no effect—because for him its character is changed. [...]

(Since Peggy has now been made aware of Seth’s predictions, Jane and I now wonder what part, if any, suggestion might play in the events that transpire in Washington DC. Is it possible that the recipient of such predictions can influence physical events, either consciously or unconsciously?

The important event had to do with some kind of a family nature, and involved one of the two dancers, and their parents, or the parents of whichever girl was involved. I believe the event concerned the other dancer, the blonde.

[...] Therefore the psychological experience of a particular event or action has little to do with clock time.
