“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(I was quite surprised the other day when Jane told me that our two apartments were okay to her if she was a writer, but not all right for a psychic—especially one who was becoming well known and was visited by all kinds of people, etc. She also told me that to her the idea of stairs represented success and failure—up and down, etc.)

(At a quick scan I thought the ideas answered all the questions we’d had about the symptoms over the years—explaining, for instance, their onset before the psychic developments, etc. [...]

[...] A recent check with my pendulum shows no residue of jealousy in any area, etc.)

[...] (Seth added by way of explanation, etc.

[...] Seth could develop this material, since I do not know how one of these men “influenced my life at one time,” etc. [...]

(Jane began speaking for Seth in an average voice, with pauses, with her eyes open and very dark much of the time; many and varied gestures, etc.)

[...] She feels she has lately realized a group of truths that she hadn’t understood before, etc.)

[...] She knew Seth was talking about his own projected book, and avoided blocking, etc. [...]

[...] At break Jane experienced a real outburst, during which she said most forcefully that she wouldn’t get a job, had no intention of doing so, etc. [...] Anything I said concerning Jane and jobs referred to past experiences, which hadn’t worked out, etc.

(I didn’t understand whether Jane considered the last five years wasted or not, however, including the books, the psychic work, the painting, etc. I said for my part that the end of January would mark a change in our way of life, and that I didn’t think we’d ever return to the old—it obviously left too many things to be desired in spite of any accomplishments, etc. [...]

[...] I encouraged her to talk about what was on her mind even though her supper got cold, etc., and was sure Seth would cover the subject this evening.

(I long ago gave up on any thought of Jane taking a regular job—perhaps several years ago, etc.)

[...] Earlier caught myself stewing over my windows new room being accessible that is, noticeable; then cleared that up saying that Frank, etc., will be gone; phone book won’t have address; winter coming—but if I have to, I’ll lock the screen door or put up a note working hours no guests; but anyhow I’ll make conscious decisions and take steps. [...]

[...] My eyes were bothering me some, but I typed some James this afternoon; then Frank came in at 3:30; and Margaret B. came in to visit; I was annoyed; tired of people about, etc., but tried to be pleasant; as we chatted I felt my right foot and ankle changing. [...]

[...] John told Jane it “might be a matter of hours” etc., and wondered whether Seth could give some data on Peg’s psychic activities at the moment, whether she would be helped after physical demise, etc.

[...] She had experiences involving caskets, death, etc...but said these episodes were separated in time, at least one of the times being quite long ago. [...]

[...] Jane had been “far-out” this time; it took her awhile to come fully out of trance, etc. [...]

[...] The session began after we had had some time for an informative, get-acquainted talk, on parapsychology in general, methods of conducting tests, personalities, Seth’s particular philosophy, etc. [...]

[...] Jane said she could very easily have gone into a deep trance, and had to work to keep everything in balance—herself, Seth, etc. [...]

(After reading these notes Jane reminded me that during the session Seth also told R. Van Over that one of the sponsors or members of his new research society would pull out—that this person was somewhat of a disrupting influence, etc. [...]

[...] The witness said the data contained many intuitive insights, etc., citing especially the material re ambiguous relationships, etc.)

[...] This would take into account our physical time system, etc. [...]

[...] Jane began speaking in trance at quite a fast pace, eyes open often, etc.)

[...] When Jane and I wonder about Seth’s seeming availability, we mean the scheduled Monday and Wednesday evening sessions, an occasional appearance at one of Jane’s ESP classes, and an occasional dropping in at an unscheduled session, perhaps on a weekend, etc.

To do that, I have to drop those old feelings of responsibility as a primary focus (to get the ideas out quickly so they can help people, etc.) because those feelings strain the Seth-book framework particularly when I demand that in each book Seth answers all questions and so forth. [...]

[...] and speaking engagements, etc., would limit it to specifically to human problems.... [...]

[...] which immediately wanted approval for my books—not that I shouldn’t want approval per se but that I began to demand that my art provide all my needs; to financially support me, to give me honor among my fellows, a sense of belonging, etc. [...] If you confuse the issues you try to temper your creativity (to gain approval, etc.) which can dilute the work; or you set up protective measures to protect yourself against the worlds disapproval or scorn.

[...] We had gone Christmas shopping this afternoon, etc.)

[...] He knew you were making every effort to provide your end of a merry Christmas, with the tree, etc.

(This afternoon Jane had some very good insights as to why we had taken in the kitten, Parmesan – who, incidentally, is now gone to the parents of friends, etc.)

[...] Jane and I are to spend Christmas in Rochester with brother Dick and family, and bring mother back with us, etc. [...]

[...] There were so many things I wanted to say that I believe I ended up silent because points got in each other’s way, etc. I did voice some thoughts that I’ve mentioned before: about why, in times of great stress when it’s obvious the organism is in trouble, it doesn’t intuitively override wrong thinking and set itself right so that it can go on about the business of life, etc. [...]

[...] The second on the morning of Wednesday, February 10 concerns Jane’s condition and my part in it, etc. [...]

[...] I knew this was loaded material, etc.)

[...] We’ve already discussed them to some extent, and believe we are making progress, etc.)

[...] Our questions will have to do with the nature of this source, why this particular data came through in this fashion, etc. [...] She felt no other personality’s presence, etc; whatever the source, it appeared to be blocked off from her emotionally and subjectively in the usual sense; yet the material was given.

[...] He could shed no light on the questions, and gave us no definitions, etc.

[...] We have read about relativity, for instance, in popular paperbacks, and some other paperback books on a variety of subjects that might have included various kind or examples of mathematical formulas, etc. [...]

[...] She then resumed in the same manner, rather objectively, although with many a puzzled expression, eyes open often, voice her own, etc., at 10:30.)

[...] Reverend Crosson has read Jane’s ESP book, helping her publicize it in various ways, contact editors, etc., and we were pleased to meet.

(Reverend Crosson has met many of the leading figures in parapsychology, including Eileen Garrett, Arthur Ford, Martin Ebon, etc. [...]

(This noon, driving home from work, I pulled a muscle in my right side while wheeling the car around a corner—one of those painful things that you feel when you cough, breathe deeply, laugh, etc.)

[...] Now I wondered how it was possible for Jane to want a cigarette if her trance was so deep, etc. [...]

[...] But she did not remember specifics: that the first three chapters might be cut, etc.

[...] Their card was written and mailed on June 27, Thursday, giving someone there three days to read the script, perhaps make some sort of evaluation, etc. [...]

(Long involved adventure type dream, spy adventure I think; I climb cliffs, castle moats etc, seeking clues and am very effective. [...]

(Seth reiterated some of the earlier material he has given us, concerning proofs, apparitions, etc. [...]

(As he stated in the 68th and 170th sessions, Seth said that should he materialize in full view in the middle of the room it would not be considered as evidence by those who did not wish to believe it possible; they would ascribe it to mass hallucination, etc. [...]

(Jane later said that she was sure she hadn’t had too much to drink, and that she had become very upset over company behavior while the tape was being played, etc. [...]

[...] We asked about rates at several motels, etc. [...] I arose with several questions that I wanted answered in a session tonight; the trouble with steps, why she took a turn for the worse after the tour for The Seth Material, etc.?

[...] After the nap, I suggested we might stay here the next week, to work, have a couple of sessions, etc., and Jane agreed.

[...] I thought that probably the feelings should be allowed to come out violently, but we were inhibited by our surroundings, and probably fear, etc. [...]
