(I didn’t understand whether Jane considered the last five years wasted or not, however, including the books, the psychic work, the painting, etc. I said for my part that the end of January would mark a change in our way of life, and that I didn’t think we’d ever return to the old—it obviously left too many things to be desired in spite of any accomplishments, etc. [...]
[...] I encouraged her to talk about what was on her mind even though her supper got cold, etc., and was sure Seth would cover the subject this evening.

[...] When Jane and I wonder about Seth’s seeming availability, we mean the scheduled Monday and Wednesday evening sessions, an occasional appearance at one of Jane’s ESP classes, and an occasional dropping in at an unscheduled session, perhaps on a weekend, etc.
To do that, I have to drop those old feelings of responsibility as a primary focus (to get the ideas out quickly so they can help people, etc.) because those feelings strain the Seth-book framework particularly when I demand that in each book Seth answers all questions and so forth. [...]
