During ESP Class the Sumari, through Jane, told Florence to go look out the middle window, and Sue to look at the door which they did. At the same time Florence and Sue turned and walked toward each other and met in the center of the room. Florence knelt before Sue, and Sue was stunned—for a second. Then Sue put her hand on Florence’s head, and Florence got up and they embraced, and it was over.... Then Sue got the following as a concept in both Sumari and English at once.
NOTES FROM ESP CLASS SESSION, DECEMBER 21, 1971
[...] He asked us not to send more unless it contained reports of ESP demonstrations. Even though he expressed interest in “testing” Seth for ESP, and suggested again that we try the clairvoyant experiment, I was put off by the letter. [...]
To say that my editor was surprised by the first eight chapters of my ESP book is putting it mildly. [...]
[...] Since in all of these experiments Seth was helping us through actual suggestions and explanations as to how we perceive such information, I simply couldn’t minimize his importance just to get the ESP book published. [...]
[...] The sessions had only begun the previous December, and we’d had few instances of ESP in sessions, except for the physical effects that alternately intrigued and frightened me.
[...] Jane’s and my dear friend, Debbie Harris, began making copies of all of the Seth sessions, plus the transcripts of Jane’s ESP classes, for the “collection” of Jane’s and my work in the archives of Yale University Library. [...]
[...] She’s married to Rick Stack, a writer, publisher, and lecturer involving things psychic; he too was a member of ESP class. [...]
Sue Watkins, who described Jane’s ESP class so well in her two-volume Conversations with Seth, recently began doing research for Conversations with Jane Roberts: A Multidimensional Memoir.
[...] The ESP book brought this out; that is, did not cause the resentment—the resentment was there—but allowed the resentment release. [...]
[...] (F. Fell published the ESP book.)
He projected his resentment into the future, and against all other publishers for awhile, anticipating the same sort of response as he felt the ESP book had received. [...]
(This portion of an unnumbered ESP class session was transcribed from incomplete notes made by a member of Jane’s Thursday-night class, beginning at 10:15 PM on December 28, 1967.
(Usually we keep the records of her ESP class in a separate set of three-ring binders, but Jane wanted to insert this one as part of Session 393 in our “regular” sessions: She wanted to show Seth discussing a subject that was emotionally very important to a class member—Audrey Shepherd—whose adopted son had died by drowning last summer.)
ESP CLASS SESSION, NOVEMBER 3, 1970
ESP CLASS SESSION, DECEMBER 1, 1970
[...] Reverend Crosson has read Jane’s ESP book, helping her publicize it in various ways, contact editors, etc., and we were pleased to meet.
(Yesterday was ESP class night, so the Reverend attended class; a session was held during class, which was recorded; when received a copy will be added to these records. [...]
The classes (ESP) will be of immediate benefit, and will represent a strong bridge toward an effective and satisfactory meeting of psychic and physical dimensions. [...]
(Several times in recent sessions Seth has told us that Jane is to hear from someone in Wisconsin, relative to a publishing venture and/or her ESP book, but nothing has developed yet.)
(“Has he read the ESP book?”)
[...] Jane wrote Frederick Fell giving approval of the title given to her ESP book. She also offered her help in writing copy for mail order ads, and offered her small collection of ads for various ESP books which she has collected, as a guide. She told F. Fell copy for the ESP field is hard to write without experience in the field.
[...] Achievement being a general reference to her ESP book, and scarcity being a more specific connection in that Jane offers her own small collection of ESP ads to F. Fell’s office for use as a guide in writing copy. [...]
[...] She also discussed the title for the ESP book, again offered her help on publicity ideas re this book, and told F. Fell that she was ready to help in any way she could.
[...] Jane said the passage-of-time reference grows out of Mr. Fell’s questions as to when she was coming to New York, and her reply that she saw no use in it until the ESP book was out; then, in May, she wanted to be in NYC to help with publicity. [...]
(A few days ago Peggy Gallagher had brought Jane a copy of the latest Cosmopolitan magazine, and suggested that Jane query them about running some excerpts from her ESP book. [...] Naturally we wondered how the ESP subject would be received by a popular magazine, and this gave us a chance to try an experiment that we had discussed before.
(Jane, her ESP book finished and mailed, has some free time for a change. [...]
(Seth stated that the editors at Cosmo would be interested, and that in answer to Jane’s query, which would consist of a chapter from her ESP book plus a letter outlining her ideas on adapting it for the magazine, they would send a letter of interest. [...]
[...] Seth now told us that Jane would sell more stories out of that batch she had written up before starting the ESP book. [...]
(Today Jane received word from F. Fell, Inc., that they would like to schedule her book, Hidden Powers Within You; How to Make ESP Work, for publication in the spring of 1966. [...] Thus the material will be an integral part of the ESP book.
(Seth has predicted sale of the ESP book, and of the material itself many times. [...]
(The session began late this evening because Jane and I first attended a twenty-fifth wedding anniversary surprise party for a member of ESP class. [...]
(At the supper table this evening we had been speculating about the times Seth had given in connection with his life as a pope, both in the ESP class session for May 25, 1971, and the 588th session in this chapter. [...]
[...] It also happens with the audio tapes from Jane’s ESP class, as she speaks for Seth, or as herself in exchanges with students, or as she speaks and sings in her trance language, Sumari. [...]
Also, copies of all of the Seth sessions — regular, private, and for ESP class — are in the collection of our papers at Yale. [...]
