“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

It is this inner self, out of massive knowledge and the unlimited scope of its consciousness, that forms the physical world and provides stimuli to keep the outer ego constantly at the job of awareness. It is the inner self, here termed the inner ego, that organizes, initiates, projects, and controls the EE (electromagnetic energy) units of which we have been speaking, transforming energy into objects, into matter.

The inner ego is always aware of both aspects and is organized about its primary aspect which is creativity. It constantly translates the components of its gestalt into reality—either physical reality through the EE units I have mentioned, or into other realities equally as valid.

Now: the EE (electromagnetic energy) units are the forms that basic experience takes when directed by this inner self. These, then, form physical objects, physical matter. Matter, in other words, is the shape that basic experience takes when it intrudes into three-dimensional systems. Matter is the shape of your dreams. Your dreams, thoughts, and emotions are literally transformed into physical matter purposefully by this inner self.

Buildings appear to be made of rock or stone or steel. They appear fairly permanent to the physical senses. They are actually oscillating, ever-moving, highly charged gestalts of EE units (“beneath,” say, any atomic particles), organized and maintained by the collective efforts on the part of inner selves. They (the buildings) are solidfied emotions, solidified subjective states, given physical materialization.

[...] EE units are formed spontaneously from the electromagnetic reality of feelings emitted from each consciousness, as, for example, breath automatically goes out from the physical body.

The EE units are quite simply incipient forms of reality: seeds automatically given birth, suited for different environments, some appearing within the physical framework, and some not conforming at all to its prerequisites. [...]

These EE units also operate as fields, as waves, or as particles, as the units of consciousness do—but in your terms they are closer to physical orientation. [...] There are literally numberless steps taken before EE units combine in their own fashion to form the most microscopic physical particles, and even here the greatest, gentlest sorting-out process takes place as these units disentangle themselves at certain operational levels (underlined) from their own greater fields of “information,” to specialize in the various elements that will allow for the production of atoms and molecules impeccably suited to your kind of world.

[...] It turns into what I have called [an] EE unit,¹ in which case it is embarked upon its own kind of physical experience.

(9:48.) Units of consciousness (CU’s), transforming themselves into EE units, formed the environment and all of its inhabitants in the same process, in what you might call a circular manner rather than a serial one. [...]

[...] Manufactured products are also composed of atoms and molecules that ride upon units of consciousness transformed into EE units, and hence into physical elements.

[...] In Session 890 see his material on both EE units and CU’s. While reading tonight’s material, the reader might keep these brief passages from that session in mind: “Each unit of consciousness (or CU) intensifies, magnifies its own intents to be—and, you might say, works up from within itself an explosive spark of primal desire that “explodes” into a process that causes physical materialization. It turns into what I have called [an] EE unit, in which case it is embarked upon its own kind of physical experience.” And: “Units of consciousness (CU’s), transforming themselves into EE units, formed the environment and all of its inhabitants in the same process, in what you might call a circular manner rather than a serial one.”

2. Here are the sessions and notes for Volume 1 of Dreams, in which Seth and I discussed or referred to his EE (or electromagnetic energy) units, and his CU’s (or units of consciousness).

In Note 1 for the 890th session I gave references to Seth’s earliest material on EE units.

(Pause.) The energy point, the EE point, from here on, constantly changes the form of the unit, but the procedure I have just mentioned must first occur. [...] Now these intensities of EE, forming the units, end up by transforming all available space into what they are. [...]

[...] (Pause.) You may use EE. [...]

[...] The initiating point is the originating, unique, individual and specific emotional energy, or EE (pause), that forms any given unit. [...]

(Pause at 10:56.) The EE units which I have mentioned in other material are important because they exist in an electromagnetic sphere of activity, and they trigger certain responses in the brain and nervous system. Events themselves involve a steady condition of highly related fields of activity, however, that exist between the EE units, so to speak.

[...] In a way, the EE units occur on the furthest reaches of this activity. If an event were a physical craft such as a spaceship, the EE units would allow it to land in your world, but would not be the original propellants. [...]

3. A note added later: Of course, as soon as Seth mentioned units of consciousness in “Unknown” Reality I thought of the electromagnetic energy units (EE units, as he called them) that he’d discussed in 1969 and 1971. [...] In the latter material he used several evocative analogies to describe his EE units: “… basically emanations rising from consciousness … the invisible breath of consciousness … The emanations are actually emotional tones … The units are just beneath the range of physical matter.”

However, nowhere in tonight’s 682nd session does Seth refer to EE units by name — and for a reason, as will be seen late in the next session. [...] And in the 581st session: “There are many ranges and great varieties of such EE units, all existing beyond your perceivable reach. [...]

[...] The EE units, impressing a probable physical field, contain within them the latent knowledge of all of the various species that can emerge under those conditions. [...] You can say that it took untold centuries for the EE units “initially” to combine, form classifications of matter and various species; or you can say that this process happened at once. [...]

[...] At the same time EE (electromagnetic energy) units became manifest, impinging from the invisible universe into definition. [...]

(To Pete.) And I appreciate over here, as Ruburt did, your bringing together the concepts of the Sumari cordella and the EE (electromagnetic energy) units. [...]

[...] How do you think the EE units are being changed and charged as a result of the sounds? [...]

In Section 4, then, Seth has more to say about CU and EE units, cellular consciousness, ancient man, evolution, space travel, and other seemingly disparate subjects as he continues to develop his thesis that “biologically the species is equipped to deal with different sequences of time while still manipulating within one particular time scheme.” [...]

[...] That session, as well as the 581st, also contains some applicable data on Seth’s electromagnetic energy (EE) units, their various speeds, and our interpretations of them as events, dream events, movement-through-time, and so forth.
