“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(A note by R.F.B.: This is the first verse of a long poem Jane wrote late in July 1979, as Seth was finishing his work on Mass Events. Among other things, the poem is a passionate declaration of psychic independence, written in response to Seth’s ideas in this book.)

Most of the declared instances of telepathy or clairvoyance that happen in schizophrenic situations are instead the individual’s attempts to prove to himself or herself that the idealized qualities of omnipotence or power are indeed within grasp—this, of course, to compensate for the basic feeling of powerlessness in more ordinary endeavors. [...]

[...] A simple declarative belief, but it is qualified. [...] You believe you are a good artist—a simple declarative belief. [...]

(Pause.) That affirmation means that you declare your individuality. [...]

[...] Try to feel the statement in whatever way is possible — that is, do not allow distractions, but if your mind insists upon running about then channel its images in line with your declaration.

[...] When Ruburt (as Seth calls Jane) was a young girl he wrote a poem in which he declares:

[...] We have achieved a situation beneficial to all—for Jane’s will and my own each declares that upon the death of the survivor of the two of us, our estate is to be donated to the Manuscripts and Archives division of Yale University Library, in New Haven, Connecticut. [...]

[...] It gives a clear declaration of the Sinful Self’s attitudes in the past, and its new growing recognition that those attitudes have been unfortunate. [...]

[...] It is not, say, a simple declaration, but involves realizations and insights of vital import that are given purposefully in such a way that they will gradually be sifted into consciousness because consciousness, the consciousness, would not be able to interpret the meanings in usual terms. [...]

[...] Both of us were surprised to hear him declare a connection between Paul and the Zealots. [...]

(I understand Seth’s declaration that in the deepest of terms there is nothing wrong. [...]

[...] They are, as Ruburt declared so emphatically, nice people, well-intended people.

(11:44 P.M. And so, even though Seth had declared the end of “Unknown” Reality this evening, it will still include at least part of the next session.)

[...] We want our nation to embark upon programs to cut, and eventually eliminate for all practical purposes, its continually growing dependence upon foreign oil, for we see great risks in an overreliance upon that course of action; we think those hazards should be obvious to everyone since the oil embargo declared against us in 1973 by the countries of the Middle East. [...]

[...] Science, including psychology, by what it has said, and by what it has neglected to say, has come close to a declaration that life itself is meaningless. [...]

In other words, your friend’s ego has declared me legitimate now. [...]

(Assembling all of these elements into a psychological whole, he declared that “the sessions, among other things, were generated by your own experiences as creatures, and your desires to look for personal answers — but more basically, to seek out the answers [asked for] by all of your race.” [...]

(Here’s one point brought out in that deleted material: Since Seth had told Jane and me long ago that the three of us belong to the Sumari family of consciousness,⁴ we were more than curious now when he declared that the woman who presently owns the house on Foster Street is also a Sumari: “[She] added Sumari characteristics of expansiveness.” [...]

[...] One such instance is mentioned on page 248 of The Seth Material, when, in response to a declaration by a student in my ESP class, Seth took the conventional idea of hate for granted on the part of the student. [...]
