The CU’s, following that analogy, serve as source points or “holes” through which energy falls into your system, or is attracted to it — and in so doing, forms it. The experience of forward time and the appearance of physical matter in space and time, and all the phenomenal world, results. As CU’s leave your system, time is broken down. Its effects are no longer experienced as consecutive, and matter becomes more and more plastic until its mental elements become apparent. New CU’s enter and leave your system constantly, then. Within the system en masse, however, through their great and small organizational structures, the CU’s are aware of everything happening — not only on the top of the moment (gesturing), but within it in all of its probabilities.

There is the constant surge into your universe of new energy through infinite minute sources. The sources are the CU’s themselves. In their own way, and using an analogy, now, in certain respects at least the CU’s operate as minute but extremely potent black holes and white holes, as they are presently understood by your physicists. Give us a moment …

Now: This means that biologically the cell is aware of all of its probable variations, while in your time and structures it holds its unique position as a part, say, of any given organ in your body. (Pause.) In greater terms the cell is a huge physical universe, orbiting an invisible CU; and in your terms the CU will always be invisible — beyond the smallest phenomenon that you can perceive with any kind of instrument. To some extent, however, its act can be indirectly apprehended through its effect upon the phenomenon that you can perceive.

CU’s can also operate as “particles” or as “waves.” [...] When CU’s operate as particles, in your terms, they build up a continuity in time. [...]

When CU’s operate as waves, however, they do not set up any boundaries about their own self-awareness—and when operating as waves CU’s can indeed be in more than one place at one time.

Now: I call the building blocks of matter CU’s—units of consciousness. [...]

Chapter 3: Seth discussed CU’s much more extensively in Session 889. In Session 890 see his material on both EE units and CU’s. While reading tonight’s material, the reader might keep these brief passages from that session in mind: “Each unit of consciousness (or CU) intensifies, magnifies its own intents to be—and, you might say, works up from within itself an explosive spark of primal desire that “explodes” into a process that causes physical materialization. [...] And: “Units of consciousness (CU’s), transforming themselves into EE units, formed the environment and all of its inhabitants in the same process, in what you might call a circular manner rather than a serial one.”

Last night, as I began typing Monday’s 915th session, I asked Jane why Seth hadn’t just called his “invisible particles” CU’s, or units of consciousness, as he’d done earlier in Dreams,² and as he’d always done in his other books. [...]

2. Here are the sessions and notes for Volume 1 of Dreams, in which Seth and I discussed or referred to his EE (or electromagnetic energy) units, and his CU’s (or units of consciousness).

Beneath these, so to speak, the CU’s (or units of consciousness) are aware of the different kinds of consciousness of which they are part. [...] The CU’s, in their freewheeling nature beneath all matter, are acquainted with all such organizations, so that some of the lessons learned by one species are indeed transferred to another.

The CU’s, forming the structure later in its entirety, form all the atoms, molecules, cells, and organs that make up your world. [...]

Now: Many of these invisible particles (CU’s) can be in more than one place at a time — a fact that quite confounds the physically tuned brain perceiving a world in which objects stay where they are supposed to be.

4. I doubt if by his statement Seth means that physicists are attempting to study his CU’s (see Note 2) — certainly not yet, although a few scientists who have written us thereby show that they’re familiar with Seth’s thinking here. [...]

3. See Seth’s material on his units of consciousness, or CU’s, in sessions 682–83 for Volume 1 of “Unknown” Reality. In the 682nd session after 9:47, for example, he discussed relationships between CU’s and probable realities.

[...] Mama and Papa, in our analogy, represent the infinite potential within one basic unit (CU) of consciousness.

In Section 4, then, Seth has more to say about CU and EE units, cellular consciousness, ancient man, evolution, space travel, and other seemingly disparate subjects as he continues to develop his thesis that “biologically the species is equipped to deal with different sequences of time while still manipulating within one particular time scheme.” [...]

[...] All specifications of consciousness and all phenomenal appearances occur when the basic units of consciousness, the CU’s, emerge into EE units, and hence into the dimensions of actuality in your terms. [...]

5. In the last session see the material, with notes 1 and 7, on Einstein, as well as Note 5; in the 684th session the material on the multidimensional activities and fluctuations of Seth’s CU’s (or units of consciousness), electrons, and other such phenomena; and in the 681st session the material, with Note 7 especially, on science, probable atoms, and the basic unpredictability behind all systems of reality. [...] Seth did so while discussing his CU’s, or units of consciousness, for instance. [...]

[...] As in the case of his CU’s, Seth’s “subjective motions and activities,” his “simultaneous events,” would easily be the rule in the basic nonphysical universe.

[...] I’ll make two references to Volume 1: In Session 682, after 9:47, Seth told us that in our terms his CU’s, or units of consciousness, “can move forward or backward in time. [...]

[...] In the 688th session for Volume 1, Seth presents an analogy in which his basic units of consciousness, or CU’s, operate as minute but very powerful black holes and white holes.

Now: These units of consciousness (CU’s) move faster than the speed of light, then — but that statement itself is meaningless in a way, since the units exist outside as well as inside the framework in which light itself has meaning.

[...] To Jane’s and my way of thinking, if there’s value fulfillment there’s consciousness, expressed through CU’s, or units of consciousness.

(I’m projecting my own ideas here, but I think that in all of its complexity DNA has motives for its physical existence [as mediated through Seth’s CU’s, or units of consciousness] that considerably enlarge upon its assigned function as the “master molecule” of life as we know it. [...]
