“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Jane spoke more about the cone effect described at the start of the session. Jane had a feeling of great distance to the top of the cone as it reached above her head. She felt lines from the base of the cone, across the top of her head, reach up to the cone’s peak. At the same time she received from Seth’s entity the words “Our existence is Joy.”

(Just before the session, Jane told me later, she was again aware of the cone affect, which she calls an obvious intellectual attempt to visualize the new as it is postulated in the sessions. As before, Jane felt the presence of the base of the cone at the top of her head; this is where she and I fit in. Just above us is Seth; above both is the new development that we have come to call Seth’s entity; this is the peak of the cone. Jane gets her data, she said, from this peak and it seems distant and relatively emotionless.

(Jane also received “an inability to translate anything else.” This was difficult for her to explain, she said; as though “they” were trying as best they could to explain what they really meant, and all she ended up with was joy. Also “struggle” was involved. The cone effect was her attempt to receive this data. Mentally she asked for the data in another way, feeling as though she were in “dimension 8” —in between gears. She wasn’t worried but it was a weird state of consciousness. At the end of the session she was aware of a radio playing downstairs.)

(Once again Jane had felt the cone effect—not very strongly—mentioned in the last couple of sessions. She said it was like a cone or pyramid suspended above her head, and that as she went into trance she was to “align” herself directly beneath this cone, which is inverted. Jane then feels that pure knowledge is funneled down this cone toward her; that on the way it is changed, distorted out of shape so that finally she can put it into words. [...]

[...] We viewed this idea and the cone effect as Jane’s efforts to construct methods to explain the sessions’ data on levels close to consciousness.

Now the pyramid or cone structure Ruburt senses is his symbolic way of feeling, in your terms, the approach of certain coordinates. [...]

[...] Yet from this spot behind me there was a part of Jane’s or Seth’s consciousness with energy coming out like a cone, again.

[...] Also, the pyramid or cone of energy from in back of me had been directed at the spot in the room where she thought she was—not where she really was.

(Jane also experienced the now familiar cone or pyramid effect when the new personality chose to speak. [...]

(Jane again had the cone or pyramid effect after break.

[...] Jane wasn’t aware of anyone being present at first, but at 9:15 she got a slight impression of the cone effect, described in the last two sessions. [...]

[...] She said she didn’t get the cone or pyramid effect after the one time noted before the session began.

(Jane told me that during this experiment she was aware of a “cone” of energy being focused in my direction from herself, with the wide end of the cone at her end—she could not really describe this feeling, she said, any better than this.

[...] She said she had been aware of the pyramid or cone effect since last break, and this included during delivery. [...]

(Jane said that when “he” began talking about “my viewpoint,” she was really “up there” in the pyramid or cone. [...]

[...] It’s like I’m in a cone. [...]

[...] But vertical and perhaps cone shaped.

(The photo does have verticals in it, and the dog’s form can be seen as cone shaped. [...]

(She now told me that just before tonight’s session she felt a cone effect up over her head. [...] She said she had also felt the cone on Monday; and through the terrific energy it contained the words poured out of her.

[...] It’s like I’m in a cone—I can hear what’s going on out there, and I have to get out.”

[...] I got the feeling that a cone came down just over my head. I didn’t think that an actual physical cone was there, but the idea of shape was definite. [...]

Since then, I’ve had this cone effect often, always in this kind of a session. [...]

[...] In back of her and off to her right, our cats, Billy and Mitzi, were crouching in the light cast on the rug by one of our homemade lamps from its position on a low bookcase: An insect, seemingly mesmerized by the illumination, was flying round and round inside the bright cone of the lampshade. [...]

[...] At the same time I knew that subjectively Jane was experiencing the feeling of a “cone” or “pyramid” coming down over the top of her head. [...]

[...] She hadn’t changed her position in her rocker for the duration of the delivery, and she’d experienced the usual cone effect. [...]

(Which is to say that Jane once again felt, or was aware of, the cone or pyramid effect, the extension reaching to a point up above her head, and explained in various recent sessions. [...]

[...] You sat on a bench, eating ice cream piled into a cone. [...]

[...] She had experienced the pyramid or cone effect again to some degree, but wasn’t sure whether she had done so while delivering the material. [...]

[...] But then she added, “I feel a source of energy just above my head — not a cone, nothing that definite, just that it’s there outside my body. [...]

[...] A long cone of ashes fell onto her lap while I wondered what to do about the session. [...]
