“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(This leaflet had a good emotional connection to Jane, since a very few days before we went to the bureau she had a dream concerning an atomic attack, radiation, contamination, etc.; in the dream she saw a building and a floor plan that were very much similar to the actual layout of the local bureau. The data contained in the leaflet closely paralleled the dream; therefore Jane was quite pleased to discover stacks of these leaflets at the motor vehicle bureau. She had not been inside the bureau for at least a year.

(“and an occurrence that was not repeated.” The sheriff told us the bureau was flooded by mail requests for plates and was very much behind; indeed they had just begun filling mail orders a day or so before our visit. The sheriff advised us to return a few days later if we did not receive our plates. Although we didn’t receive the plates by the day he mentioned, we did not return to the bureau as he said to do, but chose to wait a little longer; the plates arrived the next week.

(“Connection with a note, and money.” As stated I ordered the plates by mail, enclosing a money order in payment, on December 3,1965. Since they had not arrived as the holidays approached, I wrote a short letter of inquiry just before Christmas to the bureau. I asked them to answer the letter only if they had not received my application. To help the bureau check I enclosed the number from the money order stub, mentioned the amount of the money order, etc.

[...] “That layout is identical to the one at the License Bureau!” And it was. The Motor Vehicles Bureau is an extension of the county building, as the decontamination center was an extension of another building in the dream. Incidentally, I’d been in the License Bureau only once several years earlier.

COMMENTS: On January 10, six days after the dream, Rob and I made an unexpected visit to the Motor Vehicles Bureau to check on the renewal of our car license. [...]

(For the envelope test this evening I chose a piece of an old furniture label that Jane and I had peeled from the back of a bureau a couple of weeks ago. [...]

[...] The bureau it came from is an old- fashioned one that had sat in the garage of “our” apartment house for some years. [...]

(Seth’s impressions do appear to be far-ranging, in connection with the old bureau and its label. [...]

(Long pause.) When you are dreaming you cannot pinpoint your dream location in the same way that you can determine, say, the chair or the bureau that may sit on the floor by the bed in which you dream. [...]

[...] The man will be connected with an organization, or you will meet him first as a representative of some kind of an organization or bureau.

[...] As usual, the little light on her bureau to my right was on. [...]

[...] She told me she “could sort of see” a bureau drawer while Seth was giving the related data. [...]

I think of five nickels, perhaps in his pocket or on the bureau in a small stack.

(9:40.) If the doll sat on a bureau and this is also vividly recalled, then the space in which the doll sat still carries the impression of the doll, though other objects may be placed there. [...]

[...] Once, he grabbed the notes from the bureau and approached me like some wrathful god, waving them in my face. [...]
