(During the last few days, Jane has felt that she’s been picking up “advance” material from Seth on his book. [...]

[...] Here is part of the passage from her book of poetry referred to by Seth. [...]

(There was no more book work after break, however. [...]

Work on the book will now proceed. Last week’s poetry served to refresh his creative energies, and in commitment to the book and to our work, and with your prayer activities. [...]

“There was a fountain with an apple on it—do you remember?” (Long pause.) Something about a missal or prayer book, with dates, black, and a connection with a grandfather.

Now he did a good job on the chapter, and it will help him if he imagines the entire book to be a young beautiful sapling that moves easily with each breeze, the nerves like tiny unseen branches, soft and flexible, going even out from his body.

[...] He should be able you see to take a deep breath of relief, and feel relaxed because the chapter is completed, and he knows well he can follow through with the book. [...]

Another method: pretend you are painting Ruburt with a picture of the book in his hand, then the details as to the publisher and so forth would be painted in for you. [...]

That is why so many of them promote our work, buy books for others, and form their own kind of grass-roots organizations. [...]

—that can appear most arduous at times, when you begin to think about the work involved, while the other part of you goes calmly on, bringing the books to the public one by one, so to speak. [...]

[...] This was an interruption of the material on Chapter Six of Seth’s book, but as long as a break had occurred I suggested Seth say something about Jane’s cold. [...]

[...] He would feel out in the cold no longer for several reasons, mainly because the book so beautifully combined the continuity of his earlier life with his later activities.

(Interestingly enough, we’re already beginning to hear about such frictions developing, especially from members of ESP class as they work with the ideas in this book. [...]

[...] I will say more about this later in the book, but it explains for example why a diet-watcher, suddenly determined to lose weight, may meet with veiled or even open resistance from family or friends; why the person who makes new resolutions may find himself baffled by associates’ ridicule; why the alcoholic trying not to drink finds others tempting him quite openly, or teasing him into indulgence by hidden tactics.

(We held just one session last week, and it did not involve work on either “Unknown” Reality or the book on health. [...]

(Last Thursday I finished the final pen-and-ink drawing of the 40 I’d planned for Jane’s book of poetry, Dialogues of the Soul and Mortal Self in Time.¹ I spent Friday checking the batch, then on Saturday morning I mailed them to Tam Mossman, Jane’s editor at Prentice-Hall. [...]

[...] (Pause.) A book would be needed to explain the dimensions of the psyche in relation to the different families of consciousness. [...]

(10:48.) In that case, you see, there would be in another reality a carpenter or his equivalent with a latent love of words, unexpressed — and that individual would then begin to develop; reading books on how to write, perhaps, and taking up a hobby that would allow him to express in words his love of the land and its goods. [...]

[...] Jane’s publisher still has plenty of “lead time” for the production of the book, since it won’t be marketed until the fall of 1975.

[...] Make Rob ill, or contaminate his feelings towards Mass Events and Seth’s latest book: [See last PM Seth session, which Rob is typing as I write this.]”

[...] He does, however, possess excellent instincts in certain directions that automatically bring money to you and insures the publication of his books and so forth. [...]

[...] (Long pause.) He also, as he stated, was afraid that your attitudes would splash over to color your feelings toward future Seth books, and toward your future contribution toward them. [...]

[...] By session time they were somewhat diminished, but were very inhibiting during the day, making me hesitate to do the things I’d ordinarily do without a second thought, such as drive to the post office to mail Jane’s intro for Sue’s book Conversations With Seth. [...]

(Heartily:) We will return to our book at our next session. [...]

People dream of our books, for instance. [...]

[...] You are not effecting top-level changes only, meaning surface realities, but the books are reaching into that creative medium of individual and mass dreaming—where all important change must begin.
