(We were preparing to have a suggestion session this afternoon at naptime, when I became upset as a result of our conversation. We didn’t carry through, but slept instead. As we waited for tonight’s session Jane said she “got sort of down” because of this, yet added that there was no doubt her right leg was doing good things about straightening more. She also had more freedom in that she could swing her arms up and down, further out from her ribs.

Give us a moment.... In historical times as you think of them, pre-industrial man had no need of those particular devices. He dealt with reality differently. It is not necessary to say his way was better, but it was vastly different. Some of this is most difficult to explain in any terms that will make sense, because the entire belief system of your times bears physical evidence of course, that such inoculations work.

You would not have had difficulty without the inoculation. At the time you did suffer a state of shock initially, but the body could handle that. You need general inoculations now, in the society at large, with children’s diseases and so forth, because the belief in the inoculations is so strong.

The speakers operate in individual capacity, and yet they affect mass life conditions, for they can point out needed alterations in, say, a political system long before this is apparent. The speakers use language, yet stretch it beyond its means. They are natural communicators, gifted so that their works affect not only the conscious lives of others, but also change and alter dream patterns.

You may not realize how important that is. You are not effecting top-level changes only, meaning surface realities, but the books are reaching into that creative medium of individual and mass dreaming—where all important change must begin.

If you had but one life to live, it would surely be a tragedy if you made any important errors. It would even be a tragedy if you made none—for whatever road you took would seem to be taken at the expense of numberless, perhaps more promising ones.

Ruburt’s right leg is in the process of stretching and lengthening. The jaw and shoulders are further releasing, but he compared those improvements—which he is aware of—negatively with the completed state of agility he now so desires.

Try to do your mutual suggestions when you feel you have a good rapport with Framework 2. You were wise not to do so today. Ruburt did try self-hypnosis then, but he was so overly concerned whether or not he would meet with results that for a while he simply exhausted himself with worry and concern. He held the session regardless, however, and allowed himself breathing space.

(She told me it was hard to describe, but she has a different sensation of weight in her body, as though she’s relating better to the floor. The feeling is much like that she experienced following our first suggestion period, she added, where my suggestions produced a different, better sense of bodily weight, even in the soles of her feet. It appears this evening that those suggestions are still operating—or Jane has simply learned from them, and her body is responding accordingly.)
