(Jane said she was somewhat nervous as we sat waiting for the session tonight. I had some doubts of my own. These were connected, with the sessions per se. I wasn’t sure, really, whether Jane wanted to resume them now, or wait, etc. I finally asked her this afternoon whether she wanted to have a session this evening.

Now, good evening—

Now I told you that when the book was finished, you could feel free to have some private sessions if you so desired. You are welcome to them but that is up to you.

Now then. It is true that thoughts form reality, but the thoughts are like passengers, riding atop of emotional feelings, or feeling-tones. The feelings obviously help form the thought. On the surface there are many feelings, sometimes highly ambiguous, that rise and fall and often compete for domination.

Now we are leading here into some personal and yet generally applied material.

It is the feeling-tone even more than the thoughts that dictate overall activity. The feeling-tone will of itself alter the nature of the thoughts. (Leaning forward for emphasis.) The feeling, rather than the thought of confidence, is what he needs now, and his alpha experiences are leading him in that direction.

The feeling-tone can now be encouraged, the optimism and sense of joy and accomplishment, by indulging in those activities in which he is accomplished and takes joy. (Noise upstairs.) For some time your own feeling-tone however was still not over the boundary in your terms to the positive side. For this reason you often reinforced each other’s poor moods, for example.

Now. We will be writing other books, but never in such a way that you must plunge from one into another. The books will fall into their own rhythm overall in our sessions. You will have rest between in other words.

(Now I listened to the company that had been visiting upstairs troop back down two flights of stairs.)

Now. Give us a moment. (Pause.)

Now you may end the session. My heartiest regards to you both. Remember to have Ruburt speak mentally to Mattie. Her thoughts are turned somewhat in your direction because of events.

(Jane said she had to “fight to stay in trance” at the last, because she began to pick up some “bad feelings” about Midge, alone in the house down there in Florida, and probably drinking. Jane kept wanting to come out of trance. She had an impression of Midge in a robe, crawling on the floor near the oil stove in the living room. Jane saw no flames, she said, but “it was all hazy, like smoke... I don’t know, but I don’t feel good about it right now.” Then, “I’ve still got this scary feeling. Maybe I’ve just translated all the mixed-up feelings about my father and the house there and everything into Midge. I’ve got the impression that she was trying to close the door of the stove.”

(“It is with this always we began and we begin our classes. It is with this chant always that we begin our endeavors in our space; it is not your own, and only a translation, for we do not use verbal communication. It is always with the facsimile of what we have heard that we begin our work, and in many guises and in many ways you are acquainted with our activities. I have always been here in your terms as you have always been in other places and other times, and there is a great familiarity and wonder on our part that you are still involved in these endeavors which were begun in your terms so many centuries ago, and in ways that you cannot now presently comprehend. And yet you are even familiar with what comes out as what appears as my voice in your own traits and your own translations. There are cities that we have built that you have helped us build; there are wonders here, wonders in your own reality that we helped build in other sizes in your time. We have been here many times, and you have been where we are.

(“And I am Sumari in another guise. And all of you have your guises and your masks that you wear and have worn. I am Sumari in another guise. And all of these guises are myself, and all of your guises are yourselves. And as I dwell in many realities, so dwell you in many realities. You will learn to become aware of these; you are learning. I am aware of all your activities. I am aware, for example, of your Seth and of your Seth II. We are all Sumari. Now we are appearing more clearly in terms that you can understand. But we are all Sumari, and if you are all Sumari, and never forget that you are all Sumari, and you have always been Sumari. It is the name of your family.”
