He did not think of what he lacked, but of what he wanted. And this is what must be done in the health work. His dental appointment today in a way amounted to the same thing. He wanted brilliant teeth (humorously) for the visit of your Aerofranz (Tam Mossman), and he gave a quick but direct message when he made the phone call, that an appointment would be available before your friend arrived.

(Tam arrives this weekend, May 2. Jane’s original dental appointment was for later in May. The receptionist told Jane she would notify Jane of any cancellations that developed.)

(This may be so. However on Saturday, May 3, 1969, the landlord and a helper tore down three-quarters of the terrace extending outside our living room windows. The land in this area would be used for any parking facility.

(This session was held on Wednesday, April 30. On Thursday and Friday, May 1 & 2, surveyors were at work on the property, laying out the dimensions for a proposed parking lot that would run from W. Water St, in front of the house, to the back fence of the property, some hundred feet.)

Think how thankful you are to have such a talent. This is most important. Never think that perhaps you would be better off without it, or that it presents more difficulties than those encountered by other men. Be thankful for the talent, be thankful that others appreciate it. See how natural it is that it should be appreciated. Think in terms of the intuitional help your painting gives to others.

You do not like to advertise. You feel that people should come to you. This is a method however to bring them to you, and a legitimate way of gaining attention. You have held off, also negatively, not wanting strangers to come and disrupt you. Buyers however would help your ability and not hinder it, and make it possible for you to devote your energies to your work.

There is some connection here that you can easily dislodge, having to do with your father’s reluctance to sell his photographs, his attitude, and his reaction to clients when they entered the house. You have remarked that your mother did his selling for him, or he would not have done it.
