Our results with him were good as far as the tests were concerned, though there was considerable distortion simply because Ruburt’s (Jane’s) abilities had not been sufficiently developed. There were direct hits, in other words, but these results could not be mathematically appraised in terms of the odds against them; and this is was what Dr. Instream was looking for.

Ray Van Over has scarcely met me. I did not speak to him directly. The impressions which were given by me through Ruburt, in Ruburt’s (Jane’s) own voice, were correct, however, and I believe he will attest to this.

Dr. Gene Bernard has received some excellent material from me, both in the realm of psychological interpretation, and clairvoyant impressions. I had a session for him at his wife’s request when he was ill, and in Ruburt’s files his answering letter attests to the correctness of my interpretations and impressions.

(Pace speeding up.) Certain chemical and electromagnetic changes occur within Ruburt’s physical system during sessions, and the manipulations are more difficult when there is much instability of environmental elements and physical components.

As a rule body temperature, after certain preliminary stages, is lowered during Ruburt’s trance state. The heat therefore can mitigate against us at times. All communications depend upon inner electromagnetic manipulations in any case, even for example mental images, and body temperature is also related here.
