“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(John Bradley was a witness to the session, and had some questions about his job with Searle, and events within the company. However John gave Jane no details before the session, merely stating that he would like to know what was happening.)

([John:] “Was I invited to dip into this grab bag, the last time my boss was down?”)

([John:] “In his place?”)

([John:] “To somewhat save him?”)

([John:] “What did you mean when you said the quality is not stable?”)

([John:] “By elements do you mean persons?”)

([John:] “The promotion of this man in California is not indicative of a general change of values?”)

([John:] “Can you give me more information of these four men?”)

([John:] “Let’s take a break while I mull over some of this.”)

(John corroborated much of what Seth had given, and added that he felt that only his own lack of specific knowledge prevented him from corroborating much more of the data. Jane was pleased, saying she tried to relax and not block or distort any of the data.

(John went over the points covered so far, and did indeed agree on many of them. We are not listing them individually here, though they are included in my handwritten notes for future reference if necessary. The data given here makes sense to John, and this is our concern at the moment.

(John gave us much interesting background information about his company. He identified the short man who would be out as Jim Brady. John could not identify the S A R reference. John has already refused, he said, to commit himself re a promotion to Rochester. He said it was likely he would remain in this area of the country, that is, the northeast. Freewheeling basis would pertain to John’s interpretation, he said, of the changed mode of operation by which the pharmaceutical industry attempts to sell its products and its image.

(John described to us the promotion of Roy Weideman in California, and how John Cressman has been sidetracked from district manager. to a clinical research associate. This fit in with the first part of the data, et cetera.

(The chess references by Seth were interesting. Neither Jane nor I play chess or know the moves. It developed that John had recently given one of his young sons a chess set; the boy knew the game to some extent and wanted to teach John. More on this later.

(During break John identified Stan as his regional manager.)

([John, laughing:] “I’d just like to say one thing, Seth. Are you still with us?”)

([John:] “If I make a million I’ll set up a foundation for psychic research.”)

(There followed a brief, rapid and humorous exchange between John and Seth that I did not have time to record. It ended with John referring to the chess set:

([John:] “I shall go home and study it.”)

([John:] “This material you gave me tonight wasn’t a joke, was it?”)

(10:10. Jane paused, and I called her name three times. This broke the trance state, and a few minutes later her eyes began to open. By 10:14 she was out of it as John and I talked to her.
