(The 303rd session was held on November 26, 1966 with Eugene and Sarah Bernard as witnesses. Recently Sarah telephoned Jane from Chapel Hill, NC, and asked for this session—the first held since August 16, 1967. Jane had needed a rest for some time, after the long grind of sessions from late 1963.

(On September 12, the day after this session was held, Jane bought the October issue of Fate Magazine. Curtis Fuller’s column deals in part with Gene Bernard, although the material therein was evidently taken from the wire stories concerning Gene last year.

(Jane has also recently received a phone call from a young husband in Franklin, LA, asking Seth’s help for his wife, who is very ill. We did not know who Seth would speak about first tonight, but surmised it would be Gene Bernard.

(Jane sat rather tensely in her chair as she began speaking for Seth. Her voice was quieter than usual, her eyes closed.)

(Jane was speaking with many pauses.)

(10:15. Jane’s pace was somewhat faster now, and her eyes opened occasionally. Her voice was stronger and she said she was pretty far-out.

(In answer to a question Jane said she wasn’t projecting while giving the above data, but “almost thought I was trying to.” I said Sarah would undoubtedly like to know how the material obtained tonight could be put to use so as to obtain a practical result re Gene. Resume at 10:38.)

(11:02. During break John told us he has no aunt. This puzzled Jane because she said she had such a positive impression of a woman in some such capacity, connected with John’s family. John’s mother died a few weeks ago in Philadelphia. We have never met any of his family—wife, children, other relatives, etc.

(11:25. Jane said her impression of the woman in question was of a person more masculine than usual for a female, but she didn’t voice this during the session. John said that while Seth was speaking the name Laura Bittner popped into his mind. He saw this woman, who is stocky and in her fifties or early sixties, at his mother’s funeral, for the first time in many years, and now remembered that L.B. had been a close friend of his mother’s when he [John] was a child.
