(Peter Murtough was a witness for the last time. The session was recorded. Jane’s eyes were mostly closed, her pace good.

Now, the love that binds you all is a close, sometimes open… (words missed again)…that which is too much for him at this time… (and again.)… This sort of session is not primarily to tell you what you should do, Stephen. It is not a means of helping you avoid decision, my good friend. The purpose of such a session is instead to help you develop, to grow in self-confidence and strength through making your own decisions.

As to the balanced diet, I will say this: you are not eating evenly. There is at some times an overreliance upon one type of food, and then another. It is not good for you to lose so much weight, and many of your symptoms are directly connected with various deficiencies brought about through your diet. There should be a daily balance of nutrients.

Gifts from heaven are the results of individual spiritual developments, and if they are not then they only appear to be gifts. The fine qualities that you do possess should be used to aid you in making your own way. This is not unusual with you. This is the usual road for young men, and I have followed it myself many times.

Now you have been doing very well, and with attainable goals. Give us a moment, please. I believe there may be a change in the future for you, involving your area of employment. (Pause.) Perhaps within an eight-month period, though I am not certain here of the time element. There may be a Denver connection.

Yours can be a nourishing element within the family, when you do not allow impatience to upset you. You are right in shielding your younger brother. But do not shield him too well. There will be time needed if his abilities are to mature. You two work well together. Do not accept without some critical analysis however, though I do not believe that you will. Nevertheless help temper Pete’s natural enthusiasm with good common sense.

I have explained how at certain times a definite future may be seen, and how at other times a probable future. On some occasions the totality of probabilities all point in one main direction. These tend to form a more or less definite future, all psychic forces rushing toward it. Even this however can be altered.

At other times the probabilities point in many or several directions.

Now. Here we are, young man. I hope that we have been able to be of some help to your brother, for it is time for him to change some of his ways.

I think there will be some time for such a joint session. However during our sessions I will look in on you from time to time, though I do not believe you will be aware of it.
