Now. You have indeed many abilities to be developed, and you need to work in order to develop them fully. In later years if you continue, then you will find a considerable change in the Ferd (trance) personality. He is himself in a period of transition, and there are several difficulties that are operating.

On the one hand he cannot communicate with you clearly because of his own condition at this time. On the other hand you cannot receive him clearly enough because your own abilities have not yet been sufficiently developed.

In this respect you and Ferd are both involved in a mutual learning process and development of abilities. Continued endeavor will result in benefits for you both. He has recently left our area of existence for another, and he has not yet sufficiently learned to operate within the new set of conditions. This is a fairly normal state of affairs.

My friend Ruburt has told you that you must read everything that you can, and so you should. There must be a sense of almost severe integrity on your part at all times in connection with your abilities. You must have patience while these abilities develop, while Ferd learns to perfect his own communication process, and while you learn to perfect your receptive abilities.

The validity and quality of any communications will rest primarily with the energy with which you are willing to develop your abilities. Halfway measures will not give you clear reception, nor reliable material. The systems with which we deal are too delicate, too finely balanced, to operate with any efficiency unless there is constant study, application, and devotion to the attempt. I tell you this because you are young, and must make your own decision. Halfway measures are not beneficial to the overall personality. They can lead to difficulties.

A steady and dedicated responsibility will best allow you to develop your ability and insure the validity of your communications. I tell you, young man, honestly, that halfway measures are worse than none. The personality with halfway measures is constantly in a state of stress and confusion. Halfway measures therefore are the pitfall.

Now. If you decide to devote this time, energy and concentration to these endeavors consistently, then you should indeed meet with success. Time is necessary, for certain portions of your personality must be given the opportunity to catch up with other portions. You have been doing very well. The breather and the change of environment is good for you just now. This is a rather a weighty endeavor, therefore you should indeed realize what it requires of you. If you are willing then you shall do well, for the abilities are indeed there, and you can learn to use them.

The same care and attention must be given as would be given to any vocation, and this is no light matter. The fact that such communications began, and at your age, speaks well for your own abilities, but now you must be prepared to back these abilities with additional knowledge and application.

Now, there were abilities shown on your part in Poland, in the 1200s. We will fill this in later. (Pause.) Then, you did not use your abilities properly and as a result they have only now reappeared. One of your children in the life given earlier is now your mother.

Now. If I sound severe with you (to Pete) it is only because I want you prepared for these endeavors if you choose to go on with them. You have done very well, particularly in regard to your youth, and you have my congratulations indeed. But not much has been demanded of you thus far, you see, and you must prepare to work if you want to develop your own abilities.
