(Seth, much amused, leaned toward Pete. Jane’s eyes opened often; her voice was a bit stronger than average.)

([Bill:] “I await with pleasure, my dear Seth.”)

([Bill:] “On whose behalf, Seth?”)

(Break at 9:18. The exchange between Seth and Bill Gallagher developed because last week, one evening, Jane succeeded in waking both Bill and Peg between 3 and 4 AM.

(Seth’s manner in speaking to Pete was, on the overall, quite restrained and serious, and the difference from his usual manner was quite obvious to the Gallaghers and myself. Jane resumed in the same manner at 9:24.)

(Pause; groping; phonetic.) The last name, Mess-Peralla. (Again phonetic. Jane, or Seth, made another attempt at the last name that I could not interpret sufficiently to get on paper.) Death at 56.

(Seth’s manner had continued on the serious side. Resume at 9:50.)

(Bill Gallagher had scribbled a note to me and passed it along as Seth spoke: What country? City? Or territory?

(This question was inspired by Bill’s note re city, country, territory, etc. I was somewhat reluctant to ask it. The first question on this theme, in which Seth answered Australia, was my own idea.)
