January 6, Wednesday, 11:30 AM: Achieved a light trance first, then felt as though my hands were crossed, but knew they weren’t. Extreme sensation of lightness and rising, as if from some pressure beneath me. Left hand moved occasionally of its own accord.

(January 7, Thursday, 11:30 AM: Mentally I saw Mother’s old house. Recalled writing a poem as a child that I had completely forgotten, and at the time it had seemed tremendous to me. I recalled only the first two lines: “My backyard is a garden, In beauty unsurpassed.” I saw the old kitchen linoleum in color, and the outside cellar roof. I recalled an item on the roof I had been trying to paint lately. I couldn’t see it clearly. My left hand moved by itself.
