[...] I often feel that Laurel Lee Davies, a native of Iowa who came to me from California on August 23, 1985, 11 months after Jane’s death, helped transform me. [...] We met at the hill house in Elmira on August 25 of that year. [...]

[...] At the Sayre house I have the large oil painting I did of the sunlight streaming through the windows of the studio on a certain day early in August: the only day in the year that the ever-moving sun casts that particular intriguing pattern of light and shadow across the bare wooden floor.

[...] My parents visited my brother Loren for four days during the week of August 29 to September 3. Seth said this was more than an ordinary visit as far as the folks are concerned, in that they were looking for the type of love described above from Loren and his wife also. [...]

Five months ago, in the opening notes for Session 936 in Chapter 11 of Dreams, I wrote that by the end of August 1981 Jane had roughed in the first three chapters of The Magical Approach to Reality: A Seth Book. [...]

I like that entire poem, of course—but in a different way I like just as much the untitled poem Jane wrote on a different subject almost 15 years later (on August 25, 1980). [...]
