Such a (chiropractic) treatment causes, of course, a manipulation of the atomic structure that composes the vertebrae. [...] In rainy weather, there is an added electrical resistance within the atomic structures themselves — a sort of delayed reaction, hardly perceptible in physical terms — a delayed period before the vertebrae come to rest again, so to speak, in the desired position.

[...] In clear weather there is much less of a delayed reaction, and the activated, stirred-up atoms come more quickly to rest.

[...] They are connected electromagnetically to the atomic structure of the present body. [...]

(When she read the first page of this session after I’d typed it, Jane said, “It looks like I distorted that bit about atoms ‘dying.’ I don’t think it should be put that way, I guess. [...] And those particles that break off atoms and are released as radiation don’t ‘die’ as far as I know — although they might evolve….?”

(We’ve been especially interested in such material since Seth referred to the “deaths” of atoms and molecules in the 625th session in Chapter Five, but we haven’t asked for more detail because the subject matter is somewhat outside the scope of this book. In physics it is “known,” for instance, that the proton, an elementary particle in the atomic nucleus, has an exceptionally long life in years — the number one followed by twenty-four [or more] zeros. [...]

For now, dictation: As most of you know, the atoms that compose your cells, as well as the cells themselves, constantly die and are replaced. [...]

The seemingly unconscious portions of yourself draw atoms and molecules from the air to form your image. [...] Does the name belong to the atoms and molecules within your lips or tongue? (Pause.) The atoms and molecules move constantly, forming into cells, tissues and organs. [...]

The atoms and molecules of the tongue do not know the syntax of the language they speak. [...]

[...] You perceive it as solid, as you perceive all other physical matter; yet the more matter is explored the more obvious it becomes that within it energy takes on specific shape (in the form of organs, cells, molecules, atoms, electrons), each less physical than the last, each combining in mysterious gestalt to form matter.

[...] Within the physical field these perceivable symbols are composed of matter, which is a conglomeration of atoms and molecules. Each individual, creating, say, his version of any given chair, uses entirely different atoms and molecules in his subconscious construction of it.

[...] Basically, for any duplication to appear, the exact atoms and molecules would have to be used, and this is obviously impossible.

The chair is an identity, and yet at no given moment is it the same chair, for already the atoms and molecules that compose it have changed, and been replaced by others. [...]

(Pause at 9:25.) Electrons, atoms, and molecules¹ all have their independent interior sound and light values. [...]

(9:28.) The atoms and molecules within you are quite literally dying and being completely replaced all the time. [...]

The atoms and molecules that compose your cells and your flesh, for instance, do not react to the physical sounds that you hear or to the light patterns that your physical eyes perceive. [...]

Now the atoms and molecules that compose you are glorious impermanent things, and through the leadership of your consciousness have you led them to consciousness and song and through you do they experience what you experience. [...] And when each of you come together in a personal relationship are you then glorifying and adding to the reality of the consciousness that is within those atoms and molecules. [...]

[...] Consciousness did not come from atoms and molecules scattered by chance through the universe or scattered by chance through many universes. [...]

[...] Or imagine an orange, each atom of it connected with each other and yet each one individual and each representing a reality. [...]

[...] This infinite healing presence within me is now transforming every atom of my being, making me whole and perfect now. [...]

(Silently, quietly, all distorted thought patterns in her subconscious mind are removed and dissolved, and the vitality, wholeness and beauty of the life principle are made manifest in every atom of her being. [...]

[...] The inner voice is the voice of All That Is and that voice speaks through the tissues of your body and the cells and atoms and molecules that compose your physical image. [...] The very atoms and molecules in the air give blessing. [...]

The atoms and molecules within your bodies and the consciousness within them have dwelt as flowers in the field. The actual atoms and molecules that are within your arm at this moment have been within the cows that you have eaten and the flowers upon which you now walk. [...]

[...] The atoms and molecules of your body have completely changed. [...]

[...] In that regard the earth’s entire environment was built mentally, atom by conscious atom—each atom, again, being initially formed by units of consciousness. [...]

[...] In that multidimensional array, consciousness mentally learned to form itself into EE units, atoms and molecules, electrons and chromosomes. [...]

[...] The atoms and molecules within them are always in a state of flux. The CU’s¹ that are within all matter have a memory bank that would far surpass any computer’s. As cellular components, the atoms and molecules, therefore, carry memory of all the forms of which they have been part.

[...] Here I am saying that the atoms and molecules themselves, because of their characteristics, not only deal with probabilities within the body’s cellular structure, but also helps the body make predictive judgments about entities or objects outside of itself.

[...] That same self-approval is also experienced in varying ways not only by creatures as you think of them, but also by atoms and molecules, and by all orders of matter.

[...] The atoms and molecules that compose the nail possess their own lively consciousnesses. [...]

(9:42.) Physicists think of atoms as particles. [...] At other levels of reality, atoms behave in a wavelike manner … Give us a moment … Subjectively, you will think of your own thoughts as waves rather than as particles. [...]

[...] (Pause.) Since your brains are composed of cells with their atoms and molecules, and since these are themselves made of certain invisible particles,² then your memories are already structured by the biological mechanisms that make them possible in your terms. [...]

[...] Now the same applies to these units of consciousness — and to atoms, molecules, electrons, and other such phenomena. [...]

It is impossible for you to examine an atom, a cell, or anything else except in your now. [...]

(Amused:) An atom can take care of itself, but atoms themselves are somewhat like domesticated animals; joining in the biological family of the body, to some extent they become like friendly cats or dogs under your domain.

There is a consciousness within the atoms and molecules that compose the body. [...] It is the overall consciousness composed of the atoms and molecules within the physical structure and when the main personality has gone its way, this simple consciousness may persist for some time. [...] The individual consciousness of it will withdraw from each atom and molecule within the physical body. [...]

[...] Now as you know, you do not perceive the atoms and molecules that swim about the room nor the atoms and molecules that fill this space between our friends, nor the forces—the field forces—that exist. [...]

Now, you use atoms and molecules in a strange way. [...]

The varieties of consciousness—the inner “psychological particles,” the psychic equivalent, say, of the atom or molecule, or proton, neutron or quark—these nonphysical, charmed, strange forms of consciousness that make experience go up or down (all with amusement), and around and around, are never of course dealt with.

The atom, the molecule, the proton and neutron, the electrons, the quarks and other families of particles represent aspects of consciousness itself, which man then projects into the world of physics.

The consciousness of all species interact in that fashion also, as do of course the consciousnesses within atoms. [...]

[...] Now, in the same way, atoms and molecules exist so that they are “dead,” or inactive within your system, then alive or active, but you cannot perceive the instant in which they do not exist. Since your bodies and your entire physical universe are composed of atoms and molecules, then I am telling you that the entire structure exists in the same manner. [...]

[...] You are alive now, a consciousness knowing itself, sparkling with cognition amid a debris of dead and dying cells; alive while the atoms and molecules of your body die and are reborn. [...]

[...] For example, when your individual consciousness has left the body in a way that I will shortly explain, then the simple consciousnesses of atoms and molecules remain, and are not annihilated.

The physical matter that is the chair, or rather Ruburt’s chair, is formed as I explained, and no atom in it is the same today and tomorrow. [...] You construct your own chair in the same manner, using different energy; and again no atom of your chair is the same today and tomorrow.

[...] Your construction of the set, Joseph, will involve the use of energy formed into various combinations of atoms and molecules; and these themselves give off vibrations that are received subconsciously, and also serve therefore to give indications of approximate location, bulk, and even particular material and color, to the subconscious mind of any observer, so-called; although he does not see your construction but forms his own, more or less in faithful replica, to what he has subconsciously perceived telepathically from you and any other constructor, from generalized notions of the idea behind the construction, and from vibrations and even impacts received from the atoms and molecules that compose other constructions of the so-called single object.
